Nielsen TV Ratings: ©2013 The Nielsen Company. All Rights Reserved.

NOTE: All ratings are "live plus same day" from Nielsen Media Research unless otherwise indicated.

Definitions:

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.  More information on ratings is available here.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    Trying to close my italics, sorry!

    Nikita fans enjoy that 0.5 cause that’s the highest rating Nikita will ever get. Lol…

  • John A

    What did people expect the following to repeat rate? 2.0 or more? 1.1 is decent and matched fringe finale.

  • david

    Great to see Nikita at a .5. I hope it keeps that rating in the finales on Monday.

  • Perdix

    Pessimistic>Optimistic

    That’s the mind set here.

  • Esdru

    ‘The Following’ repeat this week got better ratings than Fringe series finale. What a pathetic show lol

  • Brittano

    Nikita almost DOUBLED in viewers since its premiere. It’s really picking up steam and it’s a friday show on its third season. Hitting a season high on episode 8 is very good. CONGRATULATIONS NIKITA FANBASE!!!

  • Percysowner

    I know that Nikita is likely to get a renewal based on the syndication prospects. I am still glad to see it hit a season high in the ratings. Like Tessa, I would like to see it renewed because the ratings are decentish, not just to get to syndication. Are the ratings great? Well no, but they are even with TCD and beat 90210, so not too bad all in all.

  • Brandon

    People are acting like Nikita being picked up for a 4th season wasn’t a foregone conclusion a long time ago. It was always going to get picked up, it was just a matter of when the announcement would be made.

  • Gabe

    @Esdru

    The only thing that’s pathetic here is you. I guess Breaking Bad is pathetic too looking at its ratings, yet it has a huge fanbase and it’s a quality show.

  • GG

    Lol @ Nikita. The only way it can achieve a 0.5 is when it has no competition.

    Down to 0.4 – 0.3 next time.

  • bluejoni

    The CW fanboys are out in force !! It’s almost like everyone that watches that horrible network posts here !! SAD

  • Jade

    Can someone PLEASE tell me WHO exactly would be picking up syndication rights to Nikita?. Its the lowest rated series in primetime two years in a row. People barely watch this show as it is..what makes ANYBODY think this would be something valuable people would watch in syndication? I’m not a hater of Nikita but it just makes me laugh when people comment about this show getting to syndication. I’m sure there’s much higher rated series that people actually watch that would make more sense to buy.

  • Esdru

    @Gave

    Comparing Fringe ratings with a cable show? That’s even more pathetic yet.

  • CBSviewer

    Go CBS !

  • Tessa

    @Mal

    I’m only commenting because the early flood of posters decided to bash another show to make themselves feel better about their show’s rank, foul ratings. Near as I can tell, that’s the only reason so many people are bashing Nikita fans now.

    I agree, and I didn’t say anything about the bashing on either side. This has been going on in the Saturday threads since the days of yore. Thank God SPN is no longer dragged into it.

    Nikita will be renewed. Anyone who’s been here last year knows it. That was the year it should have been cancelled and it didn’t because Pedowitz is a fan. Now in its third season it will definitely get a forth so that the network can at least make some syndication money and cover some of its losses. The reason I say its good that it got a 0.5 is because it would be more of an offence to shows like Beauty and Emily Owens if it had gotten lower numbers and survived over them. This way at least it’s not the last-in-the-class, spoiled brat who passes the course because his dad is friends with the principal.

  • Jax

    Good job for nikita. really hoping that it continues with this rating because it is a good show.

  • Michael

    Good for Nikita’s slight rise, but only a 0.5 without any competition? I mean could you imagine if it were to compete with legit successful shows?

  • John A

    Some network will take Nikita. Even Fringe got a syndication deal.

  • Nick

    I underestimated Nikita.
    I’m not a fanboy or a hater, but I have to say, there’s something awesome about a show going up 150% in a few months.

    In other news, season high for Kitchen Nightmares!!! I think the problem this year has been that Fox has been moving it around and not promoting it. Hopefully, these ratings carry on into February, and it can give Touch a good lead-in.
