Nielsen TV Ratings: ©2013 The Nielsen Company. All Rights Reserved.

NOTE: All ratings are "live plus same day" from Nielsen Media Research unless otherwise indicated.

Definitions:

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.  More information on ratings is available here.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

Yay for Nikita! Hopefully no adjustments (it always adjusts down) :)

  • ERICinHB

    I miss CHUCK on fridays.

  • Dan

Wow Following repeat beat all Fringe’s originals this season.

Nikita will get renewed. The syndication gods demand it and its perfect to stay Fridays at 8, because its doubtful CW will put any new series there.

  • John A

The Following Repeat matched 3 episodes of fringe in the demo it didnt beat it.

  • Nicole

Why is everyone so excitied for Nikita? It was the only thing on last night that was new.. of course its going to go up a little. There wasnt anything else on.. and it will probably be adjusted down in the finales. If they renew this show again.. they are nuts.

  • Jordan

Even though they were both re-runs, Blue Bloods and CSI: NY always seem to get almost identical numbers

  • Richard Steven Hack

I expected Nikita to be flat, but wouldn’t be surprised if it got a .5 so I was right on the money. I wouldn’t be overwhelmed by an increase of .1, however. Had it gone higher it would have been nice, but highly unlikely.

While the episode was good, it was another “stand alone” episode not involving Amanda or Ari. This means it’s likely Nikita will return to a .4 next week. They need to get moving with an overall season arc.

Best line: “I got eyes like Beyonce has thighs”. You gotta love Birkhoff! :-)

  • Richard Steven Hack

Nicole: They’re renewing Nikita because of syndication. The ratings are completely irrelevant at this point.

  • Jason50

Really enjoying Fridays now. Good episodes of Nikita, Banshee, and Spartacus. It’s hard to find one action show a night on TV but Fridays have 3 good ones. The popcorn is coming out on Fridays better than spending $50 on a movie and snacks for 2 at the theater.

  • Dan

@Bad Wolf-You’re right, I don’t find it interesting. When I made that comment, I was speaking more for myself. I watch virtually every show on The CW except Nikita so I would like a different show that I enjoy watching to take its’ time slot. Also, no I wouldn’t be praising a 0.5 because it’s still pathetic. Regardless of what the show is, it’s just not a good rating. If Nikita didn’t have a syndication deal going for it, I think the show would be a goner.

  • JR35

“Nikita” gained probably because of the lack of original competition, no? I’ve never seen the show, but I don’t know if I’d be popping the cork off the bubbly over a 0.5 demo rating and 1.6 million viewers. :) Granted, teh CW’s numbers in general are dire, so…

Shark tank repeats decently yet again.

  • helpful_lurker

    @JR35

Maybe, but I think lately “Nikita” is only getting a 0.5/0.6 with seven days of DVR added in. So I doubt “Nikita” attracted any new viewers last night but simply pulled in a few that usually DVR to watch later, which could be because the other networks lacked originals, but could also be because of events from the previous episode.

With that said, though, I wouldn’t be surprised if “Nikita” adjusted down to it’s usual 0.4, but this time around I wouldn’t be surprised if it stayed at that 0.5 either.

  • Brandy

Nikita only went up cause of not much original scripted competition, shows it cant stand on its own.Itll go back down next week when originals return and itll go down in spring like most shows do,espcially with Grimm returning.I wouldnt break out the bubbly and party hats yet, it could still be adjusted down like Tues. Nights shows on CW due to sports and Nikita has a habbit of adjusting down. Its the third lowest rated CW show in demo this week(EOMD and 90210 got 0 4s,BatB a 0.7,Arrow a1.1,VD, a 1.3,HoD a 0.6,SPN a 0.9,CD a 0.5) so thats not something to brag about or celebrate, neither is the fact that if the 0.5 holds, itll tie CD at 0. 5& most are saying CD is a flop.Plus,Nikita barley a repeat of CD ,only a by a tenth and if it adjusts down, itll tie a repeat of a show some call a failure which is embarrassing.

  • jr

Hahaha @ Nikita’s pathetic 0.5 and hahahahahahahaha some more at all the pathetic people acting like it isn’t a terrible rating. It’s like when you see an ugly person and pretend that they don’t look that bad. How about we get some honest people in here making comments. Not all this “everyone gets a sticker” treatment.

  • John A

TCD will go down if Nikita adjust down.TCD fell to a 0.3 at half hour. And TCD is a failure no question about that.

  • Brandy

The fact that Nikita hasnt gotten this high total viewers in 14 months and this in demo in 12 months is pathetic, 90210had same 0.4 demo for the first few episodes this season then rose back to 0.5_0.6. Bondoel is Solomon on tvline, still thinking that total viewers matter, bragging Nikita beat 4_5 cw shows this week.Nikita is still the lowest rated show on CW or tv.

  • Dude

Not surprised but I didn’t think it would happen. Glad it did though.

  • Brandy

People are celbrating Nikita getting the same demo as EOMD premiere and that was cancelled?Lol

  • JJA

It’s a pity the CW didn’t wait until after Fringe ended its run to premier new episodes of Nikita.

I agree with Richard Steven Hack above. The episode, although good, was still just a stand alone. It didn’t have the tension and the plot twists of last week’s episode.

But, on the plus side, last night’s episode centered around Shane West’s magnificent performance. Who says the CW doesn’t have good acting? Shane West was incredible. It took me a few minutes to take it all in. That final scene was heartbreaking.

  • John A

What has fringe got to do with Nikita? Fringe had a huge 1.1 last week lol and that affected Nikita? The fanboys are deluded. As if the show wasnt at 0.4 ever before last week.
