Definitions:
DVR (Time-shifted) Adults 18-49 Ratings – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs.
Live+Same Day(Live+SD) ratings include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing.
Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.
DVR Ratings Increase Past Airdate - How many people watched the show on their DVRs within 7 days following the airdate
Until the 2009-2010 season, we used a show's LIVE program rating or viewership as the base upon which the LIVE+7 day DVR viewing was added. Now, the press seems to be standardizing around using LIVE+SAME DAY DVR viewing as the base for the calculations, so that's what we do now as well.

nice jump for Castle
Happy for revenge
I know DVR views don’t matter, assuming that nobody watches the commercials they record, but I find it interesting to see how popular some of these shows actually are with the 18-49s.
ABC are on a roll
Good for Fringe!!!! I’m already missing it.
An 8.3 for The Big Bang Theory…wow.
The gap between GA and Scandal between L+SD and L+7D is interesting. Only .4 Live but a full point when DVR is included, which means live viewers are sticking around, but not enough have programmed Scandal into DVR yet. Shows Scandal has a great deal of potential out there. Don’t watch it, but it’s exciting to see a show slowly build and get a new audience. Good thing ABC ignored SR requested to make Scandal 13 episodes this season.
I’m glad for The New Normal. I guess that 38% increase comes mostly from the people watching the other single-camera comedies on ABC and FOX while TNN is on. As it’s been said by many already, there are too many single-camera comedies airing simultaneously on Tuesday. I best next season Go On and TNN are moving to Thursdays.
Looking at these numbers, which don’t officially count, but you know they have to consider. I would think Nashville, Revenge, and Scandal all get renewed.
CASTLE, ELEMENTARY, Grey’S ANATOMY & NASHVILLE are the only shows in the top 10 of all 3 lists. ABC is the DVR king this week!
THE MIDDLE AND CASTLE! WOHOO!
impressive Scandal!!!
Great ratings for ‘Castle’. Hope it continues.
Well, at least PP went on a good note.
Happy to see Parenthood on the list.
Huge jump fpr Fringe. Does that mean it had around 6 million in total viewship ?
That’s pretty god even though it does not matter.
How about a Fringe movie to finish things off ?
GO revenge. Above 3.0 demo with DVR added in.
3rd season is already guaranteed anyways.
I see a lot of trends for ABC shows here is my thoughts on Revenge throughout the season up to date:
Revenge has taken a lot of heat as of late. Whether its comparisons to Scandal ratings wise (Shout out to Max!), the negative feedback on Season Twos Storytelling, or fans unhappiness with the Initiative and missing the shows former “vibes” from season one, I can’t help but notice Revenge and its downward trend in ratings!
At first I thought to myself, ABC why are you so stupid? Really stupid? Completely Stupid? Ok you get it I think ABC is/was stupid… No but seriously.. ABC showed huge amounts of stupidity due to the fact they schedule Sunday night Original programming versus award shows and highly rated football championship games.
However I take a good look at these DVR #s and I now realize I can’t use the excuse that the viewers tuned out due to Golden Globes or Football. At the beginning of Season 2 Revenge Premiered to a 3.2 live rating adding 1.1 in demo totaling a 4.3, and almost hitting 12 million viewers combined with dvr! Impressive I know, right? So Season 2 is on its nice run and we come across the rest of 2012 in October, November and December where Revenge seems to be maintaining a live audience demo of2.4-2.8 range and consistenly adding 1.1-1.4 dvr demo points and in the comfort zone of 11 million viewers with dvr of course.
January 2013 arrives, hence the golden globes and NFL games, and Series lows are occuring as well as season. First a 2.0 ( in Revenges Defense Once Upon A Time also hit series lows with a 2.4 if not series it was a season low) and then even worse a 1.7!
With this said Revenge going from a 2.0 to a 3.1 with dvr included and a total of 8.8 million viewers also including dvr is a major dropoff throughout Season 2. If Revenge was truly effected by the golden globes and football then why is the total demo average a 3.1 which is a season low compared to the norm of the 3.8-4.3 it was getting for the first 7 eps. Also Revenge was hitting 11 million viewers plus throughout a lot of the episodes in Season 2 and now it can’t even break 9 million.
One would think with the horrible numbers against the heavy competition so far in 2013, a lot of viewers apparently have turned off whether it be live or dvr recordings.
So when people are proud Revenge is hitting a little above 3.0 with dvr included, this is nothing to be proud of. It dropped live viewers and dropped with total audience and demo with dvr included. Revenge was getting anywhere from 1.1-1.4 in dvr with a gain of 3 mil viewers and that was with it hitting mid-high 2′s. Hitting a flat 2, it still gained 1.1 but (and this is a BIG BUT) it did not match the rest of the season. You would think a lower live demo would mean a bigger dvr demo.
I like Revenge, however I’m only on Season 1 and I consider it one of my fave new shows of the 2011-12 season with Once upon a Time. I’m hoping Season 2 is not as horrible as some are saying. But if these numbers are a reflection on how poorly Revenge is doing writing wise, then this show could potentially be in danger especially if it keeps going lower w/o major competition. I hope for Revenge Sake it can recover back to low or mid 2 live demo and fans will comeback too.
Does anyone knows about the live + 7 ratings for the pilot episode of Deception ?
I think I’m the only one on this site who watches that show haha
