Due to the nature of live programming the ratings for NBC (Pro Bowl) are approximate and subject to more than the typical adjustments in the final numbers. See below for more information on these Fast Affiliate Ratings.

NBC was number one among adults 18-49 and with total viewers.

On NBC, The Pro Bowl earned a 3.3, down three tenths from last year's 3.6 fast national rating (last year's game later adjusted up to a 4.3)

On FOX The Cleveland Show scored a 1.2, down a tenth from its last original's 1.3 adults 18-49 rating. The Simpsons was even with the 2.4 it earned two weeks ago. Bob's Burgers earned a 2.0, down three tenths from its last original's 2.3 adults 18-49 rating. Family Guy earned a 2.8, down four tenths from the 3.2 its last original earned. American Dad earned a 2.1, down three tenths from its last original's 2.4.

On CBS, The Good Wife earned a series-low 1.5, down four tenths from its last original's 1.9 adults 18-49 rating. Your predictions were far too optimistic. The Mentalist  garnered a 1.8, down three tenths from its last original's  2.1 adults 18-49 rating. Earlier in the night, 60 Minutes earned a 1.7, down more than a full point and a half from its last original's 3.3 adults 18-49 rating.

On ABC, Hallmark movie The Makeover earned a 1.1 adults 18-49 rating. Last year's Hallmark movie ( A Smile as Big as the Moon) earned a 1.5 adults 18-49 rating.

Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    Half hours for TGW?

  • s0303

i love tgw…that sucks…almost for sure to be cancelled now :( the promos did not look good for this episode though…

might be time to shelf the hallmark movies…

  • PixieLavender

NOOOOOOOOO! I love The Good Wife! It’s brilliant and genius :D I really hope that CBS doesn’t cancel it :( They have won numerous awards. :D

  • Shepherd

I’m sure there were a slew of sporting events other than the pro-bowl that I’m unaware of, but judging by this, TGW did terribly. Football only got a 3.0, the ABC movie only did 1.1, so the only competition was animation and they both killed the tgw.

  • Oliver

Is there any specific reason why everything is so heavily down? Is this just how weak Sunday is without football lead-ins?

  • http://tvbythenumbers.com Bill Gorman

Feast on the half hour ratings!

First one to mistakenly project adjustments from them is a rotten egg!

The Good Wife won’t be cancelled, a final season is basically a done deal thanks to syndication which will be announced soon.

  • MITCH

WOW THE SUPERBOWL ONLY GOT A 3.3?! I KNEW IT WOULD CONTINUE TO PLUMMET YEAR AFTER YEAR

  • Lucas

TGW is not going to be canceled. So relax. :)

  • Jane

The Superbowl is on next Sunday.

  • http://tvbythenumbers.com Bill Gorman

“I’m sure there were a slew of sporting events other than the pro-bowl that I’m unaware of”

Not that I’m aware of, I don’t think there were any particularly hot NBA games in primetime last night.

  • Pepper

    half hours for TGW??

  • John A

Well at least TGW grew at 9.30 so maybe adjust up to a still pathetic 1.6.

  • Andies

I’m guessing the clevelands will get cut.. no matter what time it has come on …it’s ratings is well below Family Guy, Bob’s Burger and American Dad…

  • Ali

it is obvious then, TGW does not appeal to females really, it looks like Males watch it too and they chose Bowl last night.

  • Shepherd

    @the Old Man

I never took you for a bingo player. Is there any chance TGW simply suffered from The Good Wife effect? You said it was a good episode, can you say you were totally objective? I’ve never seen it tbh.

  • Mary 1

I watched some of the pro bowl. But it wasn’t really competitive especially with the AFC. Looks like per the half hours posted, everyone bailed when it became a blow out. I eventually switched to watching the SWAG Awards. That probably took viewers away from some of the prime time shows.

  • http://tvbythenumbers.com Bill Gorman

“Well at least TGW grew at 9.30 so maybe adjust up to a still pathetic 1.6.”

If you were trolling me with that nonsense, +1.

    If not,

  • AniMatsuri

Considering the game was blow out, those are pretty decent ratings for the Pro Bowl.

  • Mary 1

Correction I meant the SAG Awards. ANd I think @ Ali that’s where some of those female viewers went.
