Definitions:
Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.
Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.
Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)
Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

It seems FOX finally has a hit show in the Following. Keep Bones/Following as a Monday night duo. Perfect viewing night for them. Bones has become of FOX’s longest running shows and this show is fantastic. Score for FOX that in this bad season they had they found a suitable hit.
I know it does not matter, but it absolutely pathetic that not one show was above 10 million viewers. Soon it will be a 1.0 with a million people watching that will be considered a hit. TV viewership is becoming very dismal.
The Biggest Loser is a cheap show and IMO I think it would be better as SUMMER VIEWING IMO. Much more suitable and better.
The Carrie Diaries is holding steady and is a good show for CW. CW should announce next season as last for 90210. They should do a 13 episode final season to wrap everything up and what would be great is bringing back some of the originals from the original series for the finale.
Once the Voice returns I think the networks will be in trouble. Hoenstly NBC was smart though resting the Voice for three months after last edition. Its already been a month and I am somewhat missing it and people will tune into see how Shakira and Usher do. The Voice will go into late June probably paired with AGT.
@Big Flop
No, this is not the first time that Castle has bean H50 this season. Not even close. Do you not remember the very lack luster season premiere of H50 and several other episodes as well?
Mike
the following is much better than Revolution. acting, scripts, everything!
I would like to see both shows on Monday at 10 pm and see who wins.
Wow, Alcatraz never rose, those who want to.compare. My guess to why The Following held up, CBS was in repeats, next week i expect it to go down.
@Bob, TV viewership is actually up overall. It’s just that more and more viewers go to an ever expanding number of cable networks. Viewership isn’t becoming dismal, it’s just becoming more spread out.
Whatever happened to that spinoff?
the finder collapse hard.
Had a feeling The Following would grow. Everyone is talking about it. FOX finally has a scripted show worth watching again that is reflected in the ratings. Bones is great but people just haven’t been watching it. FOX must be relieved.
@I hope you are kidding.
why@
I’d like to know how TCD is doing with female viewers. On TVBTN it seems like more guys are watching.
cbs will kill everyrhing next monday. post super bowl boost.
No, the new timeslot definitely isn’t helping 90210 but that shows ratings are so unsteady it’s ridiculous. Calling it toast is too harsh just yet. I wouldn’t be surprised if next week it got a. 06
happy about the following…really like it so far.
as for nbc mondays…the biggest loser probably will wrap its season up by the time the voice comes back…
90210 hopefully will not get a shortened final season, but i wouldn’t put it past the cw to do it…
Glad The Following was up.
Wish ABC had aired a new episode of Castle last night…
Please, for the millionth time, can we stop with the ridiculous “people who like X show are smart, people who like Y show are dumb” crap? If there’s real people on the planet who choose their television based on their IQ, I don’t want to meet them.
Yea….for The Following!!! I predicted 3.3 or more. I hope it stays that high. Such a well written and acted show. Surprised it’s on network programming vs cable. Glad that it’s not.
90210 ratings are beyond pathetic. I am a fan and haven’t stopped watching, but I really do think they should cancel it. I mean 0.3?
Glad about The Following. It’s a good show.
It looks like netflix made a good deal.
