   Sooooo gun control and 436 murders without it goes up less than 100.

   Funny, sounds like a CRIME problem to me!!!!!!

   How did the 436 murders happen with gun control, oooooh yea, BAD guys dont CARE about gun control!!!!!! Duhhhhhhhh!!!!

   In 1982, Chicago instituted a handgun ban.

   The murder rate was at 29.1 in 1982.

   The murder rate has dropped to 17.1 in 2009.

   That’s a 42% decrease since the handgun ban was implemented in 1982.

   However, in 2010 Chiago repealed the handgun bans of 1982 because of the Supreme Court case of DC v. Heller.

   Since that decision, Chicago’s murder rate has increased by 15%.

   It’s time for Chicago to return to the handgun bans that they once implemented.

   U.K. = 39
   Japan = 11 (900 times less than America)

   I think cities should have the right to ban people from carrying guns within a city on the streets(and it should be up to the individual city), unless they put in a case

   Basically giving cities the option to create their own gun laws, means the only place you can be allowed to have a gun within a city(if it chooses) would be at your house or firing ranges. As I said the transport of guns would mean you need to carry it in a case.

    Spin that record… Maybe the reason the so called “Faux” network has dominated the cable news for over a decade is because they do their job and go against the grain. Yeah, they could do what the other media outlets and drool all over this administration, go +o the whitehouse and get their talking points straight from the regime, but they dont. They could demonize the republicans every day, all day, to try to cover the liberal policies they so desperately want that dont work. But they dont. Like it or not Fox is 100 times more fair and balanced than MSNBC ever will be. Its too late for them, they’ve already crossed the line from journalism, to finger puppets for this regime. And as far as misinformed, that coming from a liberal is quite hilarious. Just because you dont agree with Fox, does not make you right. Real news comes from Fox, I mean, just look at the ratings.

    @Mark2, The handgun ban went into place in 1982 but the murder by gun did not decrease for 12 years. When it did start to decrease in 1994 it keep going down until 2012, with most of these murders occurring in December 2012. In late January 2013 Chicago police say murder by guns are heading to the 2001 rate.

    Simplified: 12 years after a handgun ban murder by gun decreases. It continues to decrease. The handgun ban is repealed in July 2010 death by guns still decrease for the next 27 months. Then for two months there is a large increase in murder by gun.

    You say this is empirical evidence of what happens when you repeal handgun laws. Please explain your logic. 12 years before a decreases really, you give it credit. 27 months before it increased. Don’t you think you are pushing it. 6 months before a increase or decrease maybe even a year. But 12 years and 2 years. Come on Mark2 use the gray matter between your ears.

    It really looks like a crime wave to me.

    Here is the part that Jeffie failed to share with his poll results. It is a “Favorability” not job approval poll!!!! OOOOPSY did he forget to tell us that???

    Favorability – which differs from job approval – is the most basic rating of a public figure’s personal popularity. Obama’s exceeds Bush’s at the start of his second term by 5 percentage points, but trails Clinton’s by 5 and Reagan’s by 12.

    Darn it!! dont you just HATE the REAL story????

    @Mark2, Just to repeat. After the 1982 handgun ban, the murder rate increased in Chicago until 1994……

    There’s always going to be crime. However, when you make Guns so readily available, it’s going to be the weapon of choice for the criminals.

    I would rather go up against a Criminal with a Knife than a Criminal with an AR-15 outfitted with high-capacity magazines.

    @Mark, I agree. Each city can create whatever gun laws they want. Each state can create whatever gun law they want. If I don’t like the laws in one state or city I can move to another. That was the idea of the United States, to be a collection of states.
