|UNIVERSAL CITY, CA – January 30, 2013 – mun2, the fastest growing Hispanic entertainment cable network in 2012, continues its unprecedented growth with double digit increases in Monday-Sunday prime time in January, up +38% (95,000) in total viewers, +49% (58,000) adults 18-49, and +28% (32,000) adults 18-34, according to Nielsen. The cable network continued its fastest growing lead across Hispanic cable networks, once again out-growing Galavision, Discovery en Español and MTV Tr3s.
mun2 also beat Hispanic broadcast network Mundo Fox, out-delivering the broadcaster by +190% more adults 18-34, +71% more adults 18-49, and +48% more total viewers, during Monday -Sunday prime time.
With 25 consecutive months of year-over-year growth among 18-49, mun2’s phenomenal success is fueled by its original programming mix that was driven in January by its leading reality series Fugitivos de la Ley: Los Angeles, La Teniente, Futbol Estelar Leon as well as the beloved series I Love Jenni.
mun2 was also the fastest-growing among entertainment cable networks during You’re On Weekends, which grew +33% in total viewers (73,000), +17% in adults 18-49 (34,000), and +16% in adults 18-34 (22,000).
Fugitivos de la Ley: Los Angeles (Sunday, 8 p.m. ET)
This one-hour, recreation reality series focused on the cases of five Los Angeles based bounty hunters, continues to engage and command viewers. The series grew its time period +37% (157,000) in total viewers, +40% (95,000) adults 18-49 and +26% (48,000) adults 18-34, to become the leading original series of 2013 to date and the #1 most-watched program on Sunday 8 p.m. among Hispanic cable networks with total viewers . The series had the highest premiere for its time slot on January 10, with 133,000 total viewers, 99,000 adults 18-49 and 56,000 adults 18-34.
La Teniente (Sunday, 10 p.m.)
The new show, which also premiered this January, brought its highest delivery on 1/27/13 with 80,000 total viewers, and 56,000 adults 18-49. The show brought +19% more adults 18-34 vs. prior month’s time period average. La Teniente made mun2 the #1 network among adults 18-34 (44,000) during Sunday night, beating all Hispanic cable networks, including Galavision, Discovery en Español, Fox Deportes, ESPN Deportes, Tr3s, GOL TV, and Discovery Familia.
Futbol Estelar Leon (Leon vs Toluca, 1/18/2013 9:30 p.m.)
The Friday, January 18 Futbol Estelar Leon (Leon vs. Toluca) match delivered +168% (142,000) adults 18-49 and +95% (72,000) adults 18-34 for the time period compared to the prior four-week average. The game out-performed Spanish language broadcast networks UniMas, Azteca America, MundoFox and Estrella TV with adults 18-34, and it tied for the most-watched program in prime time in Hispanic cable among Hispanic adults 18-34. mun2 airs the game via Deportes Telemundo.
The award-winning digital platform for mun2 – mun2.tv – had +382% growth in video streams year-over-year, with Jenni Rivera content driving 68% of the total video streams for January as well as the overall traffic to the site, including unique visitors. mun2.tv saw an increase of +41% in unique visitors, year-over-year.
