ABC: I guess if you’re going to lose the night, go with the lease expensive filler reality show you can find.. A lot better than paying for scripted tv shows that bomb I would guess. Comedy Happy Endings flopped as usual and Jimmy kimmel live did slightly better in demo than it does on late night.

CBS: NCIS did great in total viewers as expected! One would think its demo would be higher. It is pretty sad New girl can get a 2.6 w/4.7 million total viewers and NCIS gets a 3.8 with 22 mil plus which is approximately a little over 4 1/2 times the audience NG has overall!

NCIS LA did great with a .4 adjustment and viewers. Opinion is kind of the same w/this show as its predecessor mentioned above. Vegas adjusted up but still not impressive.

FOX: Raising Hope has its loyal audience tuning in as always, Fox should’ve never put this show at 8 though. It was doing better at a 9:30 slot and was never performing at leadin levels. New Girl did great. I still can’t believe NG is in the top 10 for highest gross pay for commercial spots lol what a flop this was for advertisers. Mindy Project needs to go.

NBC: Comedies flopped as usual. Totally VOICE dependent. I knew this was going to happen before aired its finale, this is why NBC did a break for Revolution. They were afraid their top scripted performer wouldn’t be the top new show of the season w/o Voice as its leadin.

CW: Sure Hart of Dixie is better than 90210 by .1 and tied Nikita last week. It has hit a lot .6 and .5 this year. It has a loyal following usually hitting an anemic audience of mid 1 mil viewers. I don’t even want to asess this underperforming network right now and its 5 way bubble battle of which show deserves to get renewed and which should be canceled! Too Bad Emily Owens could manage a slightly better demo atleast a .6 I mean that is not great by all means but considering the pathetic leadin ratings HOD provides it would have been extended for a full season atleast.

If CW renews HOD, Please for the sake of god put this show at 9:00. Considering the Weak competition on Tuesdays at 8 HOD isn’t that impressive even considering the other shows “pathetic” ratings. CW really wasted a timeslot for Cult by placing it behind Hart of Dixie. It should’ve seen how CULT would premiere behind VD and moved BATB to Tuesdays at 8 or 9. If Hart of Dixie built out a pathetic gossip girl audience than BATB should be able to maintain its loyal audience as well!! But this is the CW no strategy whatsoever!!!!

…plus airing Cult after Hart of Dixie doesn’t make much sense.

Question: What happens on Broadcast TV on a Tuesday Night at 9:30 when 3 of the worst Sitcoms air?
Answer nobody watches any of them!!

    New Normal–Worst show on TV
Mindy–UGH, UGH not 1 situational comedic moment in any episode, at any time ever–
Go On — poor Matthew Perry, can’t someone find some format which fits his comedic timing–the wife ghost thing–definitely not relatable in any way–

Who allows these shows on the air??
Comcast feels 3.95 mill is a hit on E so if they can get the same operating budget for network why isn’t it considered a hit on network? Even 3.08 is acceptable in their eyes–

    New Girl!

    @statik

I’m not going to pretend that anybody is watching it, but Happy Endings is a great show.

CW should just Cancel HOD. 0.5 is just to bad and well they already have Nikita doing that bad and will lose money keeping that for it to flop in Syndication.

  • Snoot

Yes! Raising Hope and New Girl adjusted up! The only two shows that matter on Tuesdays.

“I’m sorry, but am I seeing correctly or did even Nikita, a friday show, beat HOD and Emily Owens on ratings??? CW is shameful.”

If you are referring to an Overall Audience/Total Viewers than yes Nikita beat Hart of Dixie in that sense. BUT since advetisers only care about A18-49 and not how many people actually watch the show Nikita tied Hart of Dixie.

Nikita comparisons to HOD would have to be episodes from the same week if you want to say Nikita tied or beat HOD.. Hod aired on 1/22 and scored a .6 and 1.45 million total viewers, Nikita aired the same week on 1/25 and scored a .5 and 1.53 million total viewers losing to Hart in demo and slightly beating it by 80,000 viewers.

If you want to do seasonal then HOD easily beats Nikita. Relatively speaking though if someone is to say Nikita beat Hod it has to be the episode from the same week not last week versus this tuesday. One could say “Nikita scored a .5 on its last original and tied HOD” but in reality Hod still beat Nikita as it usually does. HOD mainly gets .5 and .6 while Nikita has been a rollercoaster scoring an anemic .2 to its recent season high of .5 but as a non Nikita fan I am happy to see it has rebounded so its fans can get a final season 4.

Who Knows maybe Nikita will beat or tie Hod this week :) if it can do it in total viewers now and then I’m sure it can get a demo win if everybody tries to tune in and the show is building momentum :)

    @ Oliver

I totally agree that Cult at 9 behind a leadin such as Hart of Dixie is a complete waste and does not make sense at all! But when does the CW really make any sense outside of putting supernatural back on weeknights with Arrow on Wednesdays!

    NBC Tuesday 8-10pm

    8 Jan – 1.6, 1.9, 1.5, 1.3
    15 Jan – 1.5, 1.8, 1.7, 1.4
    22 Jan – 1.6, 1.8, 1.3, 1.2
    29 Jan – 1.4, 1.5, 1.3, 1.1

    NBC Thursday 8-10pm

    10 Jan – 1.5, 1.5, 2.2, 1.6
    17 Jan – 1.3, 1.9, 2.1, 1.2
    24 Jan – 1.4, 1.7, 2.0, 1.3

That’s a 1.5 average for Tuesday and a 1.6 for Thursday (which will likely tick up to 1.7 after an hour each of 30 Rock and The Office tomorrow).

Who had NBC Thursdays topping NBC Tuesdays? ;)

Um, not if they want a younger demographic……

They should just move Cult up to 8pm. It’s still three weeks away, that’s plenty of time to make the move as it doesn’t even involve changing the night/date.

  • omabin

I agree. Cult at 9pm following Hart of Dixie is one of the worst scheduling moves I have memory of.

NCIS is looking damn good. Here they are, in their TENTH season, and they are poised to finish with an ALL-TIME-HIGH. If they can keep it up with at least 21 million viewers every week for the remainder of this season’s first-run episodes, they will finish at number 1 overall.

  • Bianca

Yay i am happy that FOX comedies are going up! It is a really good lineup – they just need one more awesome show. and NG killed it yesterday. They need to keep going with that vibe – people will be very happy!

  • Lainey

I’m a sucker for HART OF DIXIE. I really love this show, and as someone who has never missed an episode I will say- it’s a bit of a DVR/filler show on the CW. It’s ratings are GOOD ENOUGH but could be better if it were on at 9:00 after a solid lead-in.

If the ratings decline and they cancel HOD, I honestly will probably just stop watching CW altogether at that point. I’m over them bringing us shows for one or two seasons, building a loyal fan base, and then giving it the axe.

  • Ryan

    @chris23

Actually, I believe CW targets W18-34. I am not sure how those two stack up in that demo as those stats are generally not available.

  • USAmerica1st

Still liking The Taste very much. Crank up the PR machine, ABC!

CBS is certainly doing what they can to goose the ratings by airing a repeat of NCIS:LA instead ahead of the state of the union (as they did for the debate earlier). I expect they’ll do the off-timeslot airings the final week of the season again as well. :)

    GO NEW GIRL!

A huge kick in the face of pathetic haters LOL!
