Senate sends debt-ceiling suspension bill to Obama’s desk
The Senate on Thursday approved legislation that prevents the U.S. from hitting its debt limit until May 19, sending the legislation to President Obama.
In a 64-34 vote, the Senate gave its blessing to a House bill that suspends the debt ceiling until May 19, when the Treasury Department will need to use “extraordinary measures” to keep paying the nation’s bills.
The bill allows Treasury to borrow what ever sum is necessary to keep the U.S. from going over the debt ceiling until May 19. Unless Congress acts again, Treasury on that date will add what ever it has spent to the nation’s current $16.4 trillion ceiling.
H.R. 325, the “No Budget, No Pay” Act, also would withhold pay to the members of a chamber that do not approve a budget resolution by April 15. That language is a dig from Republicans to Senate Democrats, who haven’t approved a budget resolution since 2009.
Lawmakers could still get paid if they don’t write a budget, but not until the final day of the congressional session.

Some Poor Families Could Be Priced Out of Health Insurance Due to ObamaCare “Glitch
This is what happens when one party, and a President, ignores the US Constitution and passes a bill they refused to read.
Notice how the AP leaves out the fact that it was a Democrat-controlled Congress and that the Democrats refused to read the bill. Consequences for being corrupt.
Some families could get priced out of health insurance due to what’s being called a glitch in President Barack Obama’s overhaul law. IRS regulations issued Wednesday failed to fix the problem as liberal backers of the president’s plan had hoped.
As a result, some families that can’t afford the employer coverage that they are offered on the job will not be able to get financial assistance from the government to buy private health insurance on their own. How many people will be affected is unclear.
The Obama administration says its hands were tied by the way Congress wrote the law. Officials said the administration tried to mitigate the impact. Families that can’t get coverage because of the glitch will not face a tax penalty for remaining uninsured, the IRS rules said.

Could this be why the media is not interested in the story???? HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM????
Federal Election Commission records show that Dr. Salomon Melgen, the Miami ophthalmologist connected to New Jersey Democratic Sen. Bob Menendez’s alleged prostitution scandal, has financed several high-ranking politicians from both political parties.
Over the years, Melgen and his wife Flor donated $2,000 to former President Bill Clinton and another $4,700 to outgoing Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s various campaigns. Melgen donated $3,000 to Hugh Rodham, Hillary’s brother, for his unsuccessful 1994 Senate campaign, and $1,000 to Al Gore’s failed 2000 bid for president.
Melgen and his wife together donated $9,600 to former Florida Democratic Rep. Kendrick Meek’s failed 2010 run for U.S. Senate. Bill Clinton infamously supported Meek in that race, a three-way campaign between then-Gov. Charlie Crist and the race’s ultimate winner, Marco Rubio. Meek was widely expected to lose that race, but Clinton supported him anyway.
The Melgens have donated $8,000 total to Minnesota Democratic Sen. Amy Klobuchar in recent cycles, $2,000 to New York Democratic Sen. Chuck Schumer in 1998, and $9,600 to Democratic National Committee chairwoman and Florida Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz.
Lautenberg calls Menendez ethics accusations ‘too bad’
Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.) said Thursday he was saddened to see his junior colleague, Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.), ensnarled in a brewing controversy over trips he took to the Dominican Republic and a report that he may have solicited prostitutes.
“If there are infractions as they are reported, it’s too bad,” Lautenberg told reporters, according to the Newark Star-Ledger.
Menendez is facing questions over a pair trips he took to the Dominican Republic with Salomon Melgen, a Florida eye doctor under investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Menendez had not originally paid for two of the trips on Melgen’s private jet to the Dominican Republic, calling him a longtime friend, but his office announced Wednesday that he had reimbursed Melgen $58,5000 for the trip.
White House press secretary Jay Carney also declined to comment when asked about the reports on Thursday.

MSNBC still editing tapes I see. Model of integrity right there folks.
Early Start/Starting Point up slightly–still dismal numbers–looks like Soledad O may be on her way out—Morning Joe numbers down
From Tuesday:
@ Doug—I am the real Ratboy. I got my name from eating Rats. They taste great.
I thought so–have been suspicious of you for a long time.
@Hillbilly—I thought that was who it was. I was interested after his post this morning about his gardeners, housekeepers and car cleaners–someone who posts under many identities and tries too hard to impress does tend to arouse suspicions!–a for real 1%er, a troll or someone trying to live a dream-life vicariously on a TV rating site? He is one of the few libs I read–just to see if his post time fits with what he is posting. Oh well, to each his own–I guess.
@Cathy–sure–why not–lol
But But But…..Jeffie siad it was true!!!!!!!!!
No, Ann Coulter Did NOT Refuse To Board A Plane Because Pilot Was Black
Oh, Daily Currant, you’ve done it again.
Last time we wrote about the parody site’s articles being taken seriously, it was when Bill O’Reilly “reportedly” (read: it was a parody) got into a fight with a mall Santa over the red-suited man’s wishing him a “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas.”
Despite being well-known as a parody site, many people still regularly fall for the Currant’s style of Onion-like satire. And this week’s article on Ann Coulter “refusing to board a plane with black pilot” was no exception.
“Aw come on people, a black woman flying a plane? You know she got that job through affirmative action. Am I the only one worried about this? I mean hello? Our lives are at stake here,” the parody site wrote that Coulter screamed to her fellow passengers upon learning the color of the pilot’s skin.
Other goofball jokes that should make it OBVIOUS this was a parody include a TSA spokesman named “Dirk Diggler
The people who DIDN’T watch Lawrence O’Donnell last night missed some GRRRR-EAT Television. Video of his takedown of a crazy pro-assault-weapon woman is now being watched elsewhere, leading people to wonder how she was allowed to |”testify” (in quotes because show made up so much of the crapola she was dispensing). Lawrence also rightly called out the “Independent Women’s Forum” as not independent at all, but a DC-based right-wing organization set up by anti-feminists who are trying to co-opt the National Organization for Women.
Bob Beckel is on fire!!!
I think it’s time to replace Greta or Hannity with Bob Beckel and the Four.
Lawrence Odonnel is Great telivision is kinda like saying McDonalds is gormet dining!
@ Bob Beckel is on fire!!!
NEWS FLASH!!! Beckel does not have a show, he is part of a show so therefore the SHOW is on fire not Beckel and by the way made up mostly of non-liberals.
This from the same loon that puts comedy ratings in with cable news ratings even when it is proven that the comedy guys admit they are comedy shows. This also from a guy that says he was in the military in the intellegence part!
Oh well whatcha gonna do??
I think all of you should get a life.
What is life?

@Ratboy
Take a deep breath…inhale, exhale. I didn’t mean to get your panties in a wad. Well, actually I did. By the way, Bob Beckel and the legs of the girls are the only reasons why people tune in.
“Rangers Lead The Way”
Poor Chrissy “tingles up my leg” Matthews. He has taken a BIG NOSE DIVE….as have the rest of the liberals at MSNBC….wonder how much longer……they can stay afloat.
CNN is going through a major shake-up. Won’t be long before MSNBC is forced to do the same. Gotta love it. FOX NEWS IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE NUMBER 1.
Get used to it.
