Definitions: Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

I’m sorry that Arrow dropped, because I really like it. I hope it was a one time thing due to whatever and it goes back up next week. Supernatural is just a ROCK for the CW. It just keeps on keeping on.

SO happy for the Neighbors. A 1.6 isn’t spectacular but it sure isn’t bad considering it was against American Idol, between repeats, and universally panned by critics. This show is the ultimate underdog story and I love it.

  • Ted Craig

    @brandon
One time in January a rerun of HE did very well. It was up against reruns on every other channel and Mobbed on Fox. A little different than the last half-hour of AI. I also remember it falling below a 3 when new episodes of MF were getting 5s.

  • Ram510

Funny how people in this site are saying a 1.3 is worth a renewal but a 1.1 is “RIP” it’s 2 tenths of a points difference people, come on. I wa hoping for more for Guys With Kids with most of ABC wing in repeats and all. But with the current state of NBC’s comedies is it really completely over for GWK. It did tie TNN

I’m shocked at Neighbors?!? Maybe it should be renewed and put on Fridays or something, but it definitely shouldn’t be on Wednesdays. Suburgatory isn’t that great

And I can’t believe somehow Chicago Fire has blossomed into NBC’s top rated drama?!? (Behind Revolution but it hasn’t been on in a while). It sad cause Dick Wolf is capable of better

  • Nick

At least Idol is consistent. Good show last night, best audition episode yet.

  • nunya

Oh no! You mean there aren’t enough mentally challenged 14 year olds to sustain the cretinous “Arrow”!?

  • Alejandro

Most likey Arrow will adjust up in the finals and SN will adjust down leaving them with a 1.0 (arrow) and a 0.8 (SN)

  • methix0r

Just proves TVD is still the #1 show on CW , i hope arrow doesnt continue to drop otherwise it will be in danger , i like the show but its clear that is is no smallville.TVD is going to be the CW`s next smallville.

  • ReallyTired

NBC did nicely 9-11pm. Nice to see.

  • mando

I’m so sorry..GWK at 1.1 but this has more likely to be ordered than The New Normal which does not have much competition.

  • rob60990

With ABC in mostly reruns, I had Idol on. Mariah’s chest was so distracting. :D

  • pedro

    supernatural was good

  • Keith

@Brandon “Anyone remember last year when Happy Endings got a season high 3.5 after a rerun of Modern Family? Yeah.. Just saying lol”

I like how you left out that the Modern Family repeat was the Halloween episode in 2011 that got a 4.4 rating so Happy Endings retained 79.5% of Modern Family’s repeat. Suburgatory retained 85.7% of Modern Family’s repeat yesterday.

Not really sure why you are bring that up since you are implying that Happy Endings is some monster hit and didn’t need Modern Family. As we all know, that certainly was not the case. Hell, The Neighbors gets better ratings on its own than Happy Endings does.

  • Flame

Well, we’ll see how Idol performs tonight vs. TBBT. My prediction is TBBT a high 5, Idol down to a high 4, and not much uptick on TVD and the 30 Rock Finale.

  • Zach

I bet ABC is regretting giving Suburgatory the post Modern Family Spot. It’s doing nothing. Barely higher demo than The Neighbors and with fewer viewers. Honestly if Suburgatory or The Neighbors last until next year it will either be both of them on Fridays for a two hour comedy block with Last Man Standing and Malibu Country or Malibu gets canceled and one of them paired with Last Man. Honestly I’d like to see The Neighbors come back. The first episode was bad, but it’s gotten better and might grow if it gets a good lead in and heavy promo like they have done for Scandal this year. Suburgatory lost its spark towards the end of season one and hasn’t been able to find it since then.

  • Rob

It doesn’t look good for American Idol tonight. They cannot expect to win tonight with that rating, not against a new Big Bang Theory.

  • Tessa

    Cue the Arrow bashing.

It’s still a better show than anything that came out of CW’s new crop. I’m upset that the dip happened for this episode because it was the best in a long while. The only problem I’m having is with Laurel’s character. She’s such a glorified two dimensional doll that when the show came back from a commercial break to show her using her spiffy Surface tablet I thought we were still in commercials. That’s what she feels like, a starry-eyed girl acting in a looong commercial.

Supernatural was, as always, steady. I’m glad it isn’t affected by Arrow.

  • PurpleDrasi

Good Lord I can’t wait until the January doldrums are over. It’s hard to get a clear picture with all these reruns. Bring on Feb sweeps and let the real competition begin!

  • Ram510

It’s funny to me that people are praising Neighbor and Suburgatory for a 1.6 and 1.8 but when Cougar Town was airing in a sea of repeats and got a 2.0 that was awful. It’s like I’ve always said people have just irrationally alway had it out for Cougar Town and the numbers CT was pulling on Wednesday no other ABC comedy post Modern Family (or even post The Middle for that much) has beat since. It’s ashame it got shafted the way it did on Wednesday but now ABC has this to deal with. Good luck.
