    @DonnaT
I dont think that if Arrow drops, SPN will too

  • BagOfTools

I hate to see Arrow dip but I have to admit to not feeling a push to keep up. I get behind on it all the time and before I know it, I’ve got 3 weeks left to watch.

Just noticed that NBC is working with Roseanne again so maybe NBC is trying to go big next season and find an instant hit.

I wouldn’t give up on Whitney, Guys with Kids, or Up All Night just yet, NBC needs to find the right situation for these shows and they will work. What NBC has to do is they got to find better timeslots for their comedies that work for them.

I thought after years of struggling with single-cams that ABC finally got it right back in 2009 with the ABC Wednesday comedy block they were able to finally make it work. That’s what NBC has to do with their multi-cams they got to find the place to put them at and I guarantee they will work.

@Serial Rocker – I don’t think SPN will outrate Arrow. The last few episodes have been episodes that were going to draw a little bit of outside attention (Felicia Day was in last week’s episode, and this one had their grandfather, who was completely new to Sam and Dean and to the viewers). I think SPN might drop next week when they go back to filler. I was actually very surprised that SPN held while Arrow dropped two-tenths. I suppose some of this is down to Sam and Dean not fighting, some due to the grandfather. It does tell me that when SPN gets the chance, it can hold it’s own. But I think this week re: ratings was an anomaly and next week Arrow will be .2 or .3 above SPN again.

I’m still surprised at those demo numbers for Nashville. I thought this show, even if part of the show is about an older woman, would attract a younger audience.

The problem with Arrow is the lack of action. It’s not really “wow” such as Nikita. I don’t mean to start a war, but Nikita is action packed, thus has lower budget and lower ratings. Arrow could really use some action scenes.

  • Michael

I’m actually surprised at the lack of action Arrow has!

  • A.E

why arrow was pretty good last night well executed episode seth gabel and Janina Gavankar were awesome and the cast did a really nice job.hope it well adjust up next week with Manu Bennett and David Anders aka “uncle john” appearances.

    I have an odd question.

In general, aka avg scripted show, who watches repeats in comparison to who watches the new show?

Meaning, does the skew for aka old for CBS (esp say Blue Bloods), young for FOX (esp say GLEE) change, even slightly btwn a new episode and a repeat episode? I’m not talking in syndication, though that would also be interesting to know, I’m talking same day & timeslot vs an original.

My blind guess is that most old people probably watch live, but they also tend esp on CBS tend to just turn on the tv & watch what is on, irregardless if it’s new or not. Whereas, most young ppl, choose what to watch live and what to watch later in the week or even at all. They probably see repeat on the schedule and choose to watch something else that is new, unless it’s one of those fun to watch for 30min comedies, like Big Bang.

Which means that in general, my blind guess, the % of the demo vs total is probably skewed more older when it’s a repeat vs new except for in rare cases.

Yes, I know the overall total for both demo and total is down for repeats vs new but the skew can change & probably does.

Anyone have any compiled data/studies done to help me with my hypothesis?

Yes, what Arrow needs to do is be more like Nikita…

  • ddddddddddd

I gave up on Arrow after 3 episodes. SO BORING!!!!

  • Nick

I can’t at these people thinking Idol will dip so low haha. If anything, people will watch Idol and BBT will be down quite a bit. BBT is on all the time, when Idol only airs once.

  • rob60990

Idol will definitely shed a few tenths but so will TBBT. I guess 4.6 for Idol & 5.8 for TBBT.

  • beached

Idol….Continues down down down…People are getting tired of the same old garbage.

  • Frankie

Isn’t Whitney and Guys with Kids owned by NBC? That might factor into their status after the season. Whitney is ready for syndication by 2015 so they might be stuck with it.

  • rob60990

Whitney won’t even have half the episodes it needs for syndication by the end of this season so that won’t save this show.

  • Potato

I think it’s worth pointing out that NBC’s single cam block on tuesday did about the same as their multi-cam block. Maybe it’s time to stop saying one’s more profitable than the other?

  • TVMAN

@Beached. IDOL is steady steady steady. Even with last week. Last Thursday episode had about same ratings as year before

  • Tessa

I said there will be no adjustments for Supernatural and I was right. Show’s doing great in its 8th season.

  • Sarah

Arrow was boring and bad ! actor Stephan A. has no charisma and charm his pecs are not attracting, viewers are more intelligent than the manufacturers!

  • Felipe Nikita

    @Yu
Thats right! All of Arrow’s episodes I’ve seen, there wasnt one that had a wow moment like Nikita has all the time!
