MSNBC is just a “free range” network! No fact checking, no holding anybody accountable, no concerns over comments that incite anger and division (Matthews is the worst offender)

MSNBC’s Wagner Falsely Claims House Held ‘All-Male Hearings’ on Birth Control Last February; In Fact Two Women Testified

Opening a segment today on the Obama administration’s latest overture to assuage concerns of religious organizations about the ObamaCare contraception mandate, MSNBC host Alex Wagner came out swinging with a patently false assertion that survives as a liberal meme to this day. “The great 2012 debate over women’s health concerns begot all-male hearings on contraception and a national smear campaign directed at a Georgetown Law student,” Wagner noted as she introduced a clip of Rush Limbaugh’s criticism of Fluke’s “testimony” last February before the House Democrats’ steering and policy committee.

But in point of fact, the Feb. 16, 2012 House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform hearings did include two women who testified on the issue of religious freedom and the ObamaCare mandate. Both of them, Dr. Allison Dabbs Garrett and Laura Champion, M.D., voiced no moral objection to birth control per se, but testified rather in opposition to the mandate and how it would force their schools to cover abortifacient drugs like Plan B.

The battle for the heart and soul of the Republican Party has begun. On one side is the Tea Party. On the other side stand Karl Rove and his establishment team, posing as tacticians while quietly undermining conservatism.

the ones that distorted the country want to hold power

  • Doug Z

it is American Crossroads and its ilk that have run the GOP into the ground. Spending millions of dollars on useless 30,000-ft. advertising campaigns during the last election cycle, training candidates to soften conservatism in order to appeal to “moderates,” blowing up the federal budget under George W. Bush as a bipartisan tactic – all of those strategies led the party to a disastrous defeat in 2012.

  • Doug Z

The Bush insider team that helped lead to the rise of Barack Obama insists that they, and only they, know the path to victory. As the Times reports, Conservative Victory Project won’t merely protect incumbents – it will challenge sitting Congresspeople of the Tea Party variety, including six-term Iowa Republican Rep. Steve King, who may run for Senate

Electric Vehicles Run Out Of Juice

So say everyone from Reuters to ‘thetruthaboutcars.’ SO SAY ALL .

“In the meantime, the attention of automotive executives in Asia, Europe and North America is beginning to swing toward an unusual but promising new alternate power source: hydrogen.”
New ? no. Hydrogen is back in favor. Nissan , Toyota , BMV, Mercedes, Renault, Ford all have stakes in this.

Japan is backtracking on battery electric-car development, as even Nissan’s vice chairman, the so-called “father of the Prius,” announced plans to copy Toyota and pursue fuel-cell cars that convert hydrogen to electricity. “Because of its shortcomings — driving range, cost and recharging time — the electric vehicle is not a viable replacement for most conventional cars,” said Nissan’s vice chairman, Takeshi Uchiyamada,..

Automaker Trio Hopes to Bring Hydrogen Back From the Brink

Three titans of the automotive industry – Renault-Nissan, Ford and Daimler (which is parent to 22 car brands, including Mercedes-Benz) – are collaborating on the development of hydrogen fuel-cell technology. Their goal is to have hydrogen-electric cars in people’s driveways in the next five years.

Neither Party is scandal free. When the definitive book is written about Obama’s donor SELECTIVE green energy involvement, it should be similar in scope to Harding’s Teapot Dome scandal.

Automaker Trio Hopes to Bring Hydrogen Back From the Brink

Some years ago, I did a paper on a jet engine that Russian scientist had developed that ran of Hydrogen that emitted Pure Oxygen as the exhaust. Never heard about it again.

So my thinking is it must have worked LOL

  • Ratboy

AWWWWW thats ok1 We will just see if the 1% can kick in a few more bucks then no cost to you middle classers………..well except for the additional that we are taking as of the first of the year but thats different!

Gasoline costs take biggest share of household income in three decades

Trips to the gasoline pump in 2012 and 2008 took their biggest share of U.S. household income in several decades, according to the federal Energy Information Administration (EIA).

The Energy Department’s statistical arm reported Monday that the average household spent $2,912 for gasoline in 2012, which makes up almost 4 percent of pre-tax income, tying 2008 for the highest percentage in roughly 30 years.

  • Doug Z

But victory for conservatives isn’t Rove’s goal. He’s a political insider par excellence, and he’s playing for his political life in the aftermath of 2012. If that means declaring war on the Tea Party, so be it.

  • Doug Z

The New York Times reported this weekend that Rove and the deep-pocketed donors whose coffers he drained futilely this past year are doubling down on stupid. Rove, Inc. will re-commit to a new group that will “protect Senate incumbents from challenges by far-right conservatives and Tea Party enthusiasts who Republican leaders worry could complicate the party’s effort to win control of the Senate.”

Who needs Obama and his Team Chicago to destroy the Tea Party when you’ve got Rove and his big government band of elites?

AppleStinx – As far as I can tell, BevAg is not the same “Bev” who Hillbilly used to date. In his unauthorized autobiography, at the end of chapter 3, Bev gave Hillbilly an ultimatum that left him without friends for a long time. He used to party non-stop and Bev told him in no uncertain terms what he had to give up to stay with her…

Afternoon all, Tony…. Many of the liberals on this site see what the want to see and hear what they want to hear.

They come and spout their beliefs stating them as facts and belittle any conversation thinking people. And when you provide facts and links proving proving them wrong, they call you names or say, “that’s not what we were talking about.”

I think bank employees are all liberals. My mortgage was sold to Green Tree late January. My payment was due the 1st of Feb. Green Tree wants their money but I can’t pay them because they are having problems getting all the new loan data updated on their site.

ME: “I’m been calling since the 22nd of Jan, why can’t I mail your company my payment yet, my mortgage payment was due feb 1st?”

green tree cs: “Mame you have to wait until we get all the data.”

ME: “OK, can you email me when it’s done?”

green tree cs: “Sorry, but we can’t. You’ll have to keep checking back.”

Me: “I don’t have the time to call you daily. What’s the last day I can mail you my check without my payment being considered late?”

Green tree: “Your payment was due on the 1st it is already late.”

Me: “WHAT? I’ve been trying to pay for two weeks.”

Green Tree: “I’m sorry but there’s nothing I can do.”

  • Ratboy

I would like each and every leftie that comes to this site to please tell us all how this is acceptable? I am sure that they each have their own convaluded explination and it will all boil down to it being the republicans fault as it always is. this could be the real test of intelligence for this group to see if they can actually string together a viable and reasonable answer for us! Any takers? by the way, DONT tell us about how the R’s are picking on Obama and his nominee. Tell us why he should be able to circumvent yet another law and then promote the person that failed to do it as well as he himself failing to comply.

Treasury nominee Jack Lew accused of breaking Medicare law by Republicans

Senate Republicans are sending a letter Monday to the White House budget office arguing that President Obama’s nominee to be treasury secretary, Jacob “Jack” Lew, was complicit in breaking a Medicare budget law.

The letter comes the same day that Mr. Obama officially missed another deadline in the budget law by failing to submit his blueprint on the first Monday in February. The president has only met that deadline once in his tenure.

On the Medicare funding issue, federal law requires that if the program’s funding becomes imbalanced, its trustees are required to issue a warning, and the president is required to send Congress a plan to repair the finances.

Then-President George W. Bush did just that during his time in the White House, but Mr. Obama has never filed the submission.

“The administration has failed each of the last four years to response to these funding warnings despite receiving several communications from Congress urging them to comply,” eight Republicans on the Senate Budget Committee said in a letter to the White House.

Mr. Lew was director of the White House budget office in 2010 and 2011 during the time when the Medicare submission was required, and the senators said they want to know whether he was complicit in ignoring the law.

As the head of the Treasury Department the secretary is chairman of the Board of Medicare Trustees.

Sen. Jeff Sessions, the ranking Republican on the Budget Committee, has repeatedly demanded the Obama administration comply with the Medicare law.

He and House Budget Committee Chairman Paul D. Ryan wrote Mr. Obama in 2011 demanding he submit the plan required by law.

But budget and notification laws are routinely ignored.

Mr. Obama has missed this year’s legal deadline for submitting a budget, blaming the late passage of the tax increase deal early last month.

And Congress hasn’t passed a budget since 2009, even though the Budget Act of 1974 requires it to adopt a budget resolution by April 15 every year.
