'Do No Harm' Premiere Flops, How Many More Weeks Will It Last? (Poll)

Even on the ratings train of woe that is NBC's early 2013, last night's 0.9 adults 18-49 rating for Do No Harm spells near instant doom.

But how soon is instant?

Edit: Because someone asked about it on Twitter, I'll add that The Paul Reiser Show lasted 2 weeks in the spring of 2011 after it premiered with a 1.1 rating.

I hate to be joyful but I really just want anything and everything NBC offers up to flop so they order up a fifth season of Parenthood. Which routinely wins its time slot.

NBC needs to rebrand and try to find a niche market … here’s a few suggestions, gratis …

NBC: Naked Boys Club, all gay shows aimed at the new normal
NBC: Nothing but Chics, all porn, all the time
NBC: Nasty Butt Chewers, version of Animal Planet focused on carnivore’s
NBC: Nude Baking Contests, Food channel type shows done in the buff
NBC: Nothing but carnage, ultra violent shows with high body counts
NBC: Nothing but commercials, all home shopping, all the time
NBC: No Body Cares, the fireplace/aquarium channel

As for DNH, hard to say … if they have nothing left in the quiver and they’re already out the cash for the show only they know that point where yanking it costs less than leaving it to air but my best guess is if next week isn’t a 1.2 or better it may in fact be the last show broadcast till burn off season.

Wasn’t there a show on NBC last year that was similar to this one? About a Doctor that his family was killed in a accident.

  • Dan S

Holy smokes this show blew chunks. Okay I admit I was waaaaay too overly optimistic & I’m guessing it’ll likely get 1 more airing & then its through. It may possibly get burned off on Sat but the next big ? is what replaces DNH ? I’m guessing Hannibal assuming it has some episodes ready to go. Another possibility is to also schedule Hannibal on Wed after SUV & move CF to Thur at 10pm. That show can definitely compete against Scandal & Elementary

Good point. Also forgot to factor in it’s February sweeps. It might not even be back for another showing.

  • DenverDean

NBC can’t afford to keep DNH on during Feb sweeps. It was a mistake to launch on first night of sweeps. They must pull ASAP and dump on Fridays or Saturdays. Rock Center and DNH should swap immediately.

  • LisaM

This concept was done by Christian Slater and failed.

  • Frank

Wasn’t there a show with this same premise a few years ago with Christan Slater? That didn’t last.

Plus the title Do No Harm is a terrible title

Mob Doctor made it all the way through November sweeps, sooo…

I know there’s the whole “it needs to do better than repeats!” argument, but, eh, sweeps have already started. Adjusting the schedule again is only going to alienate viewers even more at this point.

today i watched the premiere and i like it cause it’s an interresting mixture between succesful man in his job and a good thriller if i could say
    , can’t wait for the 2nd episode
if NBC cancelled it now or even after 2 or 3 weeks, i think it’s a bad and premature decision , they should give the show more chances to make good result ; (i know it subjective) but i think thant there less good show on air ; isn’t it ??

  • Scandalfan

I say another week! I know for sure if it was ABC they would’ve pulled the plug right away.

  • Frank

Plus the commercial with the guy coming towards the camera all of sudden sucks

  • BG

I’m guessing at least 3 episodes. I hope NBC gives it a chance!

  • Carl

Not surprised at the low ratings. The show looked like it wanted to be a cross between House and Dexter while being much worth than either of them, with a premise that reminded me of that canceled show from last year where the guy jumped back and forth between different realities.

  • Pepper

It should be pulled today, but they’ll air one more episode. Then the bear will come for it.

  • Samunto

It will stay. NBC is trying to re-establish this as a timeslot for Drama/Scripted shows and will have to swallow the pill for now. Then again, what have they to lose? Rock Center averages about that! Maybe re-runs of Chicago Fire for the rest of the season!

  • Leondre

They should put Fashion Star in it’s timeslot. I’m sure it will do better than this!

  • Oliver

It did terribly, but The Paul Reiser Show and Lone Star were much bigger bombs because they had much better timeslots.

That said, next week it’s going to have 1600 Penn rather than The Office as its lead-in. It’s not going to be pretty.

I havn’t watched it (yet) but Do No Harm did no damage. Apparently the only remote shot it ever had was for NBC to launch it Fridays at 10pm out of new Grimm episodes.
