    Yay, GH!

  • TimsDale4ever

That’s just amazing that GH is up 608,000 viewers from a year ago. Obviously someone’s doing what viewers want over there.

Soaps were generally hurt (except for GH) because they lost Monday to Inauguration. Double whammy – MLK Day (always a big day for soaps) and a Monday (usually top day of week – especially for Y&R/B&B). However, the trend line continues to bod well for soaps overall.

DAYS still strong this week! Good!

  • Jason

Along with the other talented vets returning, if GH were to bring Scorpio back long term, with a good storyline, the ratings would surpass B&B.

  • Jeff

Great job GH. I always am perplexed with ratings though. They must have massive gains in men and older woman since they are up in younger women 18-34 and up overall majorly in ratings, but only very slightly in 18-49 women. I bet their 25-54 women is up a lot. At any rate, probably up close to 100% over the Revulsion which aired in the timeslot last year.

  • Mike

Y&R up in the 18-34 good. Y&R was really down on Friday. All the way to a 3.3. B&B was down some that day too.

    Glad both are doing okay.

I’m so happy for GH!! I hope the vampire storyline doesn’t turn off viewers. I’m enjoying it, but I also watched Port Charles.

  • Derrick

Y&R and B&B are still doing good in ratings!
These ratings go up and down like an elevator!

  • David

Awesome job GH next week Jack Wagner returns the following week Genie Francis, should see the numbers go up more. I think the vampire storyline is actually helping with the younger viewer numbers but still too early to tell

    Also found this interesting
    from michael fairman:
After the statement made by Michael Easton today that he would not be taping new episodes of General Hospital as of February 8th due to legal negotiations between rights to the characters of One Life via ABC and Prospect Park, a General Hospital spokesperson gave Soap Opera Digest some encouraging news that the lone ABC soap intends to keep Easton, Roger Howarth (Todd) and Kristen Alderson (Starr)!

The spokesperson related, “General Hospital is excited about Michael Easton, Kristen Alderson and Roger Howarth staying on the show and we are exploring ways to allow that to happen.”

The latest update on the situation is the characters Of John, Starr and Todd are expected to air through March on General Hospital. In addition, GH hopes to resume the use of all three performers, who are under contract to ABC most likely as different characters.

SOD Reports that, “Prospect Part meanwhile, is said to intend to recast the roles of Starr, John and Todd for its OLTL reboot. “

GO GENERAL HOSPITAL!!! Best soap on the air! Most entertaining also!!! Love this show. This is coming from a long time Y&R fan. Y&R has a long way to go to catch up to GH.

  • Holly Sutton

DAYS still ended up having another healthy week. I remember when DAYS was down there at 2.3 million not its at 2.8 million.

WOW! Britt’s character is the best right now on any soap. So damn entertaining that girl is.
