Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

WOW for Scandal. I sense a definite time slot switch for next season to a more prominent time slot! Good for it, and i don’t even watch it, but I can tell it’s hot, hot, hot right now

  • Ram510

SCANDAL!!!!!!! Will we soon see Scandal tie or beat GA, I hope so! I think sometime during Feburary sweeps Scandal will hit a 3.0

It’s not wrong it’s just Scandal is a really great show and it caught on after its first season. It’s not the first time this has ever happened in TV history

  • jT

The first show scandal had after djanjo came out was a series high lol

More networks should do the same….i expect 2 broke girls to get a boost when Thor: the dark world gets released.

  • Oliver

Broadcast got ~40% share at 8pm, which is huge.

Thursday 8pm is the most competitive timeslot on television.

  • Alfred

American Idol dropped but still has quite a sizeable fan base.

  • BigFlop

I agree with you. what about Scandal on Mondays or Tuesdays?
and Scandal is by far the most promoted show from ABC, but its audience it is not so good.

  • danny94

Yeah Scandal is doing well but it has a cushy timeslot with a good lead in and mild competition Revenge has to deal with awards shows and football games which pull like 40 million viewers you just cannot compare the two shows their situations are completly different.

  • MichaelChickless

I’d like to see 30 Rock adjust up and finish its run on a semi-high note of 2.0.

  • KT

I abhor reality TV, so I’m beyond happy that my TBBT killed Idol.

    Impressive numbers for POI!

I actually thought I read DNH numbers wrong when I first saw them. Ouch!

  • Tea

A heard that ABC hade problem in Utah yesterday when it was time to what Greys somebody commented that on tvline

  • Jackson

SCANDAL doesnt need GA as a lead in at all anymore. This week SCANDAL was sooo close to beating GA not only in the demo but also in total viewers. i think next weeks episode of Scandal will be a new series high and it will be the first time it officially gets higher ratings than GA!

  • BrieK

Scandal has been getting lots of positive buzz ever since the president was shot. ABC really upped the promo that week and the show has been riding high ever since. I think it is fair to say that Scandal has attracted new fans because people like the show. You mad, Jon292992?

  • loise lane

Omg!! Do no harm..i actually enjoyed it.the upcoming episodes seemed really good..yaaay for TVD!! Greys wat is happennin??

  • Rebecca

I’m 20 minutes from the end of 30R on hulu….I will miss it; saw every episode and loved that show. Looking forward to Community’s return next week. Watched TBBT last night; good as usual. Had a feeling Do No Harm wouldn’t do well. Didn’t appeal to me, and I saw some bad reviews.

  • Wright

TVD was crazy last night, but good. Sorry to see Kol go. I liked him and thought that his warning was valid. They have no idea what they are walking into. It was good to see Elena take action for once. Too bad Rebecca didn’t get daggered and Stefan locked in the cell.

  • BrieK

The success of Scandal has nothing to do with Django Unchained. Stop it. That movie came out on Christmas Day while Scandal was on hiatus.

  • jT

@BrieK django attracted fans to kerry Washington.

  • Lauren

I think Hart Of Dixie (steady) and Nikita (syndication) will be renewed.

Carrie Diaries : cancelled. 90210 : cancelled (ratings are pathetic)

BATB renewed if ratings are steady (Secret Circle did better last year)

  • jT

@briek Django press tour started the first day of December.

  • John A

Fantastic numbers. Agains all competition to be up from last year is great. I think the season is crap but glad more people watch that then garbage like HOD or Nikita.
