Nielsen TV Ratings: ©2013 The Nielsen Company. All Rights Reserved.

NOTE: All ratings are "live plus same day" from Nielsen Media Research unless otherwise indicated.

Definitions:

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.  More information on ratings is available here.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    @may – Unfortunately for crazy fans everywhere, networks can’t make money off of message board comments.

  • Tessa

    Nikita seems to have stabilized around .4. As I read these comments I scratch my head why the show has such low ratings if so many claim it is good.

  • Sam

    Good for Nikita.

    Being honest, I expected a .3. Fans of the show will get a season 4 either way, but even though I’m not particularly a fan of the show, I am rooting for it to hit at least one or two more 0.5′s. Would be nice to see.

  • panda22

    Nikita; w believe in season 4! :D

  • Andrew

  • Andrew

  • panda22

    @ Tessa….because those who have seen it, followed it KNOW how good of a show it is, it dosent belong on the cw. its more of a niche cable show.

    @panda22

    That sex scene was way too short ;)

  • robin

    @Andrew

    yes give the lowest rated show their second best lead in. the fact is supernatural deserves that timeslot more than nikita by proving that it could survive on fridays. and as you can see last week nikita basically hit its ratings roof with that 0.5 because it usually gets 0.5/.6 with dvr. it wouldn’t be getting 0.9 and 1.0s like SPN

  • Luke

    did nikitta beat 90210 this week, or was that adjusted up?

  • Honey Badger

    interesting, Jay Leno still leads late night

    In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49
    Wednesday results were: “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” 0.9/4; “Late
    Show,” 0.6/3; and “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” 0.8/4.

  • may

    @r0ckmypants- no money directly, but says that the show is watching outside the U.S.. Money is there. And maybe I’m passionate but I’m not crazy.

  • Andrew

    @robin they already did that last year and it worked out good Idk why they moved spn

  • THE OLD MAN

    Blue Bloods really skews old

  • Mon

    I think CSI: NY and Blue Bloods are doing fine. It seems 2.0 is the ceiling for Friday shows and 1.5 is pretty good. I find it hard to understand that CBS might be thinking they could do better than 2.0 with scripted shows they are willing to put in there. Time to face the new normal. I looked at last year’s number and here are some: Shark Tank 1.5, CSI: NY 1.6, BB 1.7, Grimm 1.4.

  • Mekko

    Isn`t it pretty pathetic that it would be AMAZING and almost IMPOSSIBLE for Nikita to get a 0.6 ?

  • charmedcraft

    wow, someone actually said atleast a 0.4 is better than a 0.3; when nikita srarts hitting 0’3, will fans say “atleast it’s better than a 0.2″?

    I hope IF ever SPN starts 2 decline in ratings, dat i dont become as delusional.

  • davie

    @andrew

    your schedule is too complicated. They aren’t going to give Supernatural 2 different timeslots for Fall/Midseason. Also, why would they air SPN after 90210? Those two shows’ audiences’ are WAY too different, not to mention SPN is pulling three times 90210′s rating.

    TheCW also isn’t going to air repeats Weds at 9pm. I think they’re trying to steer clear of Fridays at 9pm ever since Nikita’s 0.2s. Depending on what Cult’s ratings are looking like, If I were Pedowitz I’d schedule HOD or BATB there next fall.

    Was hoping Nikita would keep that 0.5 but I don’t really care either way because I’m expecting a renewal for a 4th & Final Season come may. If it’s canceled I’ll be really surprised WB & CBS bothered with the previous 67 episodes.

  • Brandy

    Andrew, SPN was moved because even on Fri,with Nikitas bad leadin,it managed to stay the second to third highest ratsd show on cw.Secondly,Cw was never going to move and is not going to move thier thier lowest rated show three year in a row off fri to the second best leadin where Idol,Modern Family ect would crush it when it underperformed after the networks best leadin in in season one with VD.
