TV Ratings Friday: 'Nikita', 'CSI:NY' & 'Malibu Country' Dip + 'Last Man Standing' Steady

 Due to the nature of live programming the ratings for NBC (NAACP Image Awards) are approximate and subject to more than the typical adjustments in the final numbers. See below for more information on these Fast Affiliate Ratings.

CBS was number one in adults 18-49 and with total viewers.

On ABC, Last Man Standing was even with its last original's 1.3 adults 18-49 rating. Malibu Country earned a 1.1, down a tenth from its last original's 1.2 adults 18-49 rating. Shark Tank earned a 1.9, down a tenth from its last original's 2.0 rating.

On NBC, The NAACP Image Awards earned a 0.8, matching its rating from last year. Dateline scored a 1.1, down a tenth from last week's 1.2 adults 18-49 rating.

On CBS, Undercover Boss earned a 1.9, even with its last original. CSI:NY earned a 1.5 down a tenth from its last original's 1.6. Blue Bloods earned a 1.5, even with its last original.

On FOX, Kitchen Nightmares garnered a 1.0, down four tenths from last week's 1.4

On The CW, Nikita earned a 0.4, down a tenth from last week's season-high 0.5 among adults 18-49.

*	In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The
Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 3.0/7; CBS's "Late Show with David
Letterman," 2.8/7; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 2.3/6.  

*	In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49
Wednesday results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.9/4; "Late
Show," 0.6/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.8/4.  

*	From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET Wednesday night, ABC's "Nightline"
averaged a 1.6/5 in metered-market households and a 0.5/3 in 18-49 in
the Local People Meters.

*	From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.7/5
in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig
Ferguson" (1.4/4).  In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late
Night" (0.6/3 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.4/2).

*	At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 1.0/4 in
metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25
markets with local people meters.

Definitions:

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.  More information on ratings is available here.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    You are correct about The Mentalist being way down. For example, its last new episode last Sunday got a 1.9. However last year on Thursday Feb 2, it got 2.9, following Person of Interest that got 3.2, making Elementary’s 2.2 now pathetic. CBS is killing The Mentalist (or at least its momentum). We’ll see if Elementary will climb to at least high 2’s after the Super Bowl then Mentalist move can be called justified.

    Being on the bubble isn’t the same as vein the lowest rated show on the CW for the past 3 years. You can’t find those number cause they aren’t there, give up

    I feel like I don’t even want to come to this site anymore. I’m a Nikita and Beauty and the beast fan. As well as a revenge & Scandal fan. Its disgusting how people can root for the failure of others; All while hoping for there own show’s success. Worry about your own show without putting others down.

    Nikita haters shouldn’t get too excited. The show is holding steady at a .4, which is essentially what 90210, HOD and TCD are doing. Even Arrow dipped to a .9 this week, so I don’t think Nikita’s numbers on Friday are on the CW’s radar right now.

    The big news of the week is the slight rise of Beauty & The Beast ratings. Two weeks at a .7, which is only .2 lower than Arrow & Supernatural. In other words, it’s the network’s 4th highest rated show, and second in the female demographic behind VD.

    The rest of the CW’s news this week (even Nikita’s “dip” back to a .4) is really just … blah.

    Well Nikita wasnt the lowest in season 1 as it had a cushy lead in but it was last season. This year its matching axed Emily Owens and matching 90210. Not that it matters its going to be renewed for syndication not because of ratings. Unless it starts getting regular 0.2 its safe.

    Out of curiosity, I wonder what CBS will do to Vegas if GOLDEN BOY launches big on Tuesday. What are the odds CBS ships Vegas to Fridays?

    I really think CBS should’ve just kept Undercover Boss in the lead-off position for the rest of the season. Maybe The Job will surprise us and do well but it is a risk but luckily CBS has the Super Bowl tomorrow to promote it. CBS should also keep CSI: NY for another season it really has weakened for a show approaching its 10th season and it’ll be hard to duplicate those numbers with a new crime drama. Blue Bloods still doing really good but has yet to surpass 12 million this season.

    Even though the ABC comedies are skewing young, ABC’s Paul Lee said he wanted the older-skewing comedies to play on this night so I’m not that sure ABC will cancel Malibu County, its not doing that badly way better than Apt. 23 and HE and it beat The Neighbors and Surburgatory in viewership. I think if ABC is trying to build back TGIF up they need to just keep MC and let it grow in the next few years. LMS is just solid right now no doubt about it. I think ABC knows they can easily do better with a cheap show like Shark Tank but if they want to program comedies why should anybody try to stop them? I think ABC is going to move 20/20 to Saturdays permanently next season.

    Nikita right now has been doing very well ever since The CW moved back up to 8pm. It just needs a partner now and that partner should be Beauty and the Beast.

    FOX will be interesting next week as Touch comes back we’ll see if its DOA or not. So will Grimm coming back next week for NBC.

    Fridays just isn’t the same anymore now that Fringe is gone. While I watch Nikita I found last nights episode boring. If it doesn’t come back I won’t miss it. Apparently The Following just like 24 doesn’t repeat well. It’ll be interesting to see how Touch fares next week with its 2hr season premiere.

    I mean yeah they could sell three seasons but I’m sure the studio wants at least 4 seasons. Nikita airs on TNT Latin so I have a feeling that TNT USA could be perfect for Nikita like Smallville and Supernatural as well as some of The WB’s classic shows.
