Bill Gorman, Thank you for your comments. I’d like to know if you believe the key demo will be changed as the population ages.
I know that Marketing and Advertising firms are making changes.
At last: a real-time tool for tracking the burden of ObamaCare
The House Energy and Commerce, Education and the Workforce, and Ways & Means Committees have joined forces to produce the new ObamaCare Burden Tracker, a “real-time online resource to help the public keep track of all of the new government mandates, rules, and red tape as a result of Obamacare.”
That’s going to take a lot of work, because the burden of ObamaCare is titanic, and growing rapidly. At launch, the Tracker estimates that ******compliance with ObamaCare regulations will consume 127,602,371 hours per year. That’s enough man-hours to build 1,040 Mount Rushmores, or 18 Empire State Buildings.******* It is not clear whether that figure includes the man-hours necessary to keep the ObamaCare Burden Tracker up to date.
This complex new system will require a whole new layer of personnel – with 21,000 of these individuals needed in California alone – to help Americans navigate the bureaucracy. Whether it’s navigating the system as someone seeking insurance or ensuring compliance with the mandates, this is valuable time that could be used to run businesses, create jobs, and grow the economy.”
127m is around the number of hours that all federal employees work in a year, combined. I’m curious where they got that number from. It does sound like misinformation to me though.
It might be a real number though. A lot of people are reporting it as if it is undoubtedly true. Either way, their assessment doesn’t include the inefficiencies of the old system, with which we were also losing a lot of productivity.

The “127,602,371 hours per year” is probably the burden on the private sector, not the burocracy-hours involved.
Well that’s not too good. I clicked on a few of them. The time needed to complete paperwork for a given thing seems to range from 20 minutes to 13 hours. While I maintain the Affordable Care Act was a good step in the right direction, I agree that it appears to be in desperate need of some adjustment.
You can’t I post?
Has anyone noticed that Doug Z should to have changed? He is now supporting the liberals on the site.
seems not should
@Cathy
Doug Z calls himself a fiscal conservative + social liberal. I think he’s the one using speech recognition to get comments typed, so there’s the element of the program misunderstanding words he said.

I havent seen it personally, but I read where MSNBC is running some sort of promo with marble mouth Al Sharpton recites the Pledge of Allegiance sans the words in “One Nation Under God”–seems that would be mixing religion and state too much…huh!Maybe the leftie network should try to repeal MLK holiday as I never heard any of his speeches not professing his deep faith in God–these folks are more enamored with the color of ones skin than the color of ones soul.
@ tony
Here it is
Rev. Al Sharpton Invokes Pledge of Allegiance, Sans ‘Under God,’ In New ‘Lean Forward’ Spot
In a new Lean Forward promo spot for MSNBC, Politics Nation host the Rev. Al Sharpton invoked the language of the Pledge of Allegiance, sans the term “under God.” In the spot, Sharpton rattled off a laundry list of pet issues that MSNBC obsessed over in 2012 as he dreamed of a “nation that is really living up to the creed of one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

“The President’s pay hike even increases the salary for federal employees who receive poor performance reviews from their own supervisors”
Panetta to propose military pay cut after Obama raised federal officials pay
Outgoing Defense Secretary Leon Panetta reportedly believes the military should receive a pay cut in order to respond to the budget cuts facing the Pentagon — a position that might strengthen the Republican push to reverse President Obama’s executive order raising the salary of Vice President Joe Biden and other federal officials.
“Panetta will recommend to Congress that military salaries be limited to a one percent increase in 2014,” CNN reports, explaining that Panetta is “effectively decreasing troop salaries next year . . . The decision comes as the secretary is stepping up the rhetoric about dire cuts at the Pentagon if sequestration goes into effect.”
The debate about sequestration did not stop Obama from ending a pay freeze for some government officials, effectively authorizing a pay raise that costs $11 billion.
“The President’s pay hike even increases the salary for federal employees who receive poor performance reviews from their own supervisors,” House Oversight and Government Reform Committee chairman Darrell Issa, R-Calif., said when a group of lawmakers proposed legislation to reverse the pay increase. “As President Obama continues to say one thing and do another on deficit spending, it is appropriate for Congress to challenge his unilateral decision to spend $11 billion on non-merit based pay raises for federal workers.”
