via press note:
Last night’s The Carrie Diaries rose again week to week, hitting series highs in A18-34 (0.8/3), W18-34 (1.1/3), A18-49 (0.7/2) and female teens (1.4).
CARRIE rose 12% week to week in total viewers (1.55M) and rose in all key demos week to week, including rising 40% in A18-49 and 33% in A18-34.
90210 was flat in A18-34 and A18-49 week to week.
Versus last Monday night, The CW rose 8% in total viewers for the night (1.17M) and was up two tenths in A18-34 (0.7/2) and one tenth in both W18-34 (0.9/2) and A18-49 (0.5/1).

I like how blunt they were about 90210…..Hopefully this post actually post. I don’t know why, but my post lately seem to never show up.
Great for Carrie!
Emily Owens is/was good and all, but The Carrie Diaries is just too good not to be renewed. So glad at the ratings, hope it doesn’t get adjusted down. Does anyone know if it was preempted somewhere, if it was, it was only that I’m guessing cos 90210 didn’t really change week to week.
Amazing! I guess the repeats are helping this show. Hope it gets renewed.
40% in A18-49
Yeah right. Something tells me these numbers are fixed.
@Joe Dimagi
Because it’s 18-49 ratings are so small, 40% might seem a lot, but it’s actually just like 2 tenths.
@Joe Dimagi
40% in A18-49
Yeah right.
In reality, it’s probably closer to 20%, but due to the industry standard of reporting ratings as tenths of a percent, they can spin it as a 40% increase.
Something tells me these numbers are fixed.
Then why do you waste your time on a ratings website?
“Then why do you waste your time on a ratings website?”
What’s that supposed to mean? Reading a paragraph is hardly wasting my time. What immature twenty to forty somethings are watching this show?
@Joe Dimagi
What’s that supposed to mean?
If you think ratings are fixed, why even bother reading them?
“If you think ratings are fixed, why even bother reading them?”
To validate that they are via a discrepancy between content and rating measures. What does it matter to you?
@Joe Dimagi,
Do you have any reasons for thinking the ratings are fixed beyond “I don’t like the results so they must be wrong”?
I already provided one. Do you think I have access to Nielsen data? Do you think I could prove a conspiracy? Seriously.
The only thing you’ve provided is that you don’t like that a show went up two tenths in the rating. That’s pretty much “I don’t like the results so the method must be wrong”
I don’t like Nielsen data in general. I think it’s manipulative and outdated. I don’t need to go into the multitude of reasons why. One can do a simple search on the internet for that information. I see no reason for why TCD should have had such an increase and am stating my opinion based on gut instinct and information I know of those behind the show. Asking me to prove it here is stupid. It’s like asking you to prove that your real name is Holly.
My real name isn’t Holly….
Why do you think the data is manipulative and outdated? What makes it so in your mind?
Or am I just supposed to take your word for it that you are right and Nielsen is wrong?
OK. Then it’s like proving your real name isn’t Holly. Same difference. I don’t expect you take my word anonymously on anything, especially over the internet. Maybe I’m right. Maybe I’m wrong and it’s just due to the ridiculous promotion TCD has got over the past few weeks. I just have a hard time believing twenty to forty somethings just decided to plug the data into their boxes for this particular show such that it was rewarded with this significant of a percentage demographic increase.
Bitter Carrie Diaries Hater!!!
that one was for Joe lol
Yes, but its still not saying how it diod in the 18 to 49 ratings?
Oh. Its still at a .5 in 18 to 49. So the Carrie Diaries didn’t go up too much.
