Nielsen TV Ratings: ©2013 The Nielsen Company. All Rights Reserved.

Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    @Petar
    i have a question for you i don’t watch the show but why abc air the bachelor today?

    They were expecting the State of the Union to be on 29 January, so they could premiere Body of Proof tonight. When the address was moved to next Tuesday, they decide to reschedule BoP to avoid having a week off after the premiere. So, they needed to air something tonight, and The Bachelor ended up being that something.

  • Petar Ivanov

    Any idea why the trend was down on Monday night?

  • gerry

    @ rebecca – when the show was orig in development, it was probably slated for a fall premiere which would have had the halloween episode air around halloween.

    i think its charming. if you go in expecting it to mirror satc, its obviously not going to. its on cw, not hbo.

  • Hmm

    ABC just ordered another episode for Castle, bringing total number for this year to 24! Means one less repeat in April!

  • matt

    How soon before NBC pulls Deception off? Just a boring storyline

  • Petar Ivanov

    @Ultima
    Thanks. So this mean the tb will ended early on and DWTS will start one week early too is that right? Before the voice.

  • matt

    Alcatraz aired its first 2 episodes on the same night, can’t compare

  • Anthony C.

    Good for TCD! I hope it gets renewed. BATB needs to really worry now. Although I say cancel it and keep Jay Ryan for another show. 90210 needs to be put out of it’s misery.

    I don’t get how 2 Broke Girls is even on the air and pulling decent numbers. It’s not watchable at all mostly cause watching those two actresses who can’t act and their half assed attempts to pull off comedy is seriously cringeworthy IMO.

  • MichaelChickless

    The Following does have a simlar intensity to 24, although Ryan Hardy is no Jack Bauer.

  • The Cool Max

    Yes for Rules and 2BG! CBS has another great Monday!

  • Amy

    Can the guys here who watch TCD explain to me why they watch it. I’m really curious since this show is obviously not marketed towards them.

  • Ultima

    @David Howell
    Does Bones always skew that old (2.3 with over 9m viewers), or does it skew younger when DWTS is on to soak up the old crowd?

    Just checking a couple episodes earlier in the season, it does appear that Bones skews older when DWTS isn’t on.

  • Marlene

    I hate NBC I love Deception ! <3 people needs to give it a chance

  • Ultima

    @David Howell

    For reference, season premiere of Bones this year was 2.3 rating, 7.0 million viewers.

  • Ultima

    Err, 2.3 rating, 7.6 million viewers

    Sigh.

  • Brandy

    Chris 2.0, what rare you talking about ” CW never promoted Carrie Diaries”?!All December and Jan, and even now in Feb.CW promoted the heck out of it.It might’ve had more promotion than Beauty & the Beast or maybe the same amount but Arrow,VD,Carrie Diaries,Beauty & the Beast were/are the most promoted CW shows.

  • Ultima

    @Petar
    So this mean the tb will ended early on and DWTS will start one week early too is that right? Before the voice.

    Nope, they just added an extra episode.

    However, DWTS was already scheduled to start the week before The Voice.

  • Hubert R. Wentland

    @Amy,
    I would never thought of watching TCD as being a guy, and I never watched any CW show until Hart of Dixie. i love the latter one, don’t know what made me check it out, but I was charmed with the warmth the show gives me and how light and mindless fun it is. so as I am not CW target audience, I fell in love with their show without any concrete reason ;p

  • Austin

    Yay TCD! I knew you could pull out a big one! Let’s keep you alive because the CW in my opnion has way to many sci-fi dramas already and they have already ordered more pilots that fit that genre and also with cult coming soon (even though it looks really good). TCD is an original concept, love the clothes and music too!

  • moshane58

    Love The Following and Hawaii 5-0.Hope they keep going.Deception stopped watching.Just wasn’t that good to me.
