CBO Update: Obamacare Will Cost $1.3T, Account for 53% of All Federal Spending — and 7 Million People Will Lose Insurance
IRS: Cheapest Obamacare Plan Will Be $20,000 Per Family
In a final regulation issued Wednesday, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) assumed that under Obamacare the cheapest health insurance plan available in 2016 for a family will cost $20,000 for the year.
Under Obamacare, Americans will be required to buy health insurance or pay a penalty to the IRS.
The IRS’s assumption that the cheapest plan for a family will cost $20,000 per year is found in examples the IRS gives to help people understand how to calculate the penalty they will need to pay the government if they do not buy a mandated health plan.
The examples point to families of four and families of five, both of which the IRS expects in its assumptions to pay a minimum of $20,000 per year for a bronze plan.
“The annual national average bronze plan premium for a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 children) is $20,000,” the regulation says.
In the examples, the IRS assumes that families of five who are uninsured would need to pay an average of $20,000 per year to purchase a Bronze plan in 2016.
Using the conditions laid out in the regulations, the IRS calculates that a family earning $120,000 per year that did not buy insurance would need to pay a “penalty” (a word the IRS still uses despite the Supreme Court ruling that it is in fact a “tax”) of $2,400 in 2016.
Go Figure:
For those wondering how clear the IRS’s clarifications of this new “penalty” rule are, here is one of the actual examples the IRS gives:
“Example 3. Family without minimum essential coverage.
“(i) In 2016, Taxpayers H and J are married and file a joint return. H and J have three children: K, age 21, L, age 15, and M, age 10. No member of the family has minimum essential coverage for any month in 2016. H and J’s household income is $120,000. H and J’s applicable filing threshold is $24,000. The annual national average bronze plan premium for a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 children) is $20,000.
“(ii) For each month in 2016, under paragraphs (b)(2)(ii) and (b)(2)(iii) of this section, the applicable dollar amount is $2,780 (($695 x 3 adults) + (($695/2) x 2 children)). Under paragraph (b)(2)(i) of this section, the flat dollar amount is $2,085 (the lesser of $2,780 and $2,085 ($695 x 3)). Under paragraph (b)(3) of this section, the excess income amount is $2,400 (($120,000 – $24,000) x 0.025). Therefore, under paragraph (b)(1) of this section, the monthly penalty amount is $200 (the greater of $173.75 ($2,085/12) or $200 ($2,400/12)).
“(iii) The sum of the monthly penalty amounts is $2,400 ($200 x 12). The sum of the monthly national average bronze plan premiums is $20,000 ($20,000/12 x 12). Therefore, under paragraph (a) of this section, the shared responsibility payment imposed on H and J for 2016 is $2,400 (the lesser of $2,400 or $20,000).”
Complying with the raging tsunami of new Obamacare rules and regulations will cost American businesses and families 127 million hours annually, enough time to carve out another 1,039 Mount Rushmores which took 14 years complete, according to a new House report.
Based on figures from President Obama’s own Office of Management and Budget and Internal Revenue Service, the new report provided to Secrets reveals that the health reform law set to fully go into effect in 11 months will be the most costly federal burden to hit American in generations. And that hardship will grow as more rules are released.

^ and this guys…is one of the things wrong with America.
I tuned into Mr Tingles(everyone knows who Tingles is)he had a couple of hacks on with him discussing what else–what a lousy candidate Romney was, well here it is more than 3 months later and Tingles still Tingling from his lord’s victory. There is one good thing about the 2012 election and the forecast of national riots if a certain candidate won–GLAD THAT DIDNT HAPPEN!Oh I’m sorry that was going to happen if Romney won!
Greed, slovenliness, lack of compassion, narrow-mindedness, and backward thinking personify Rush Slimebaugh…
Obamacare is ALREADY saving people money and it will put an end to the “every 10 year 100% healthcare increases” that the GOP is content to live with….
ibsles will learn to LOVE Obamacare as it will save even him money….
7 million people will NOT lose their insurance–they will save money with Obamacare. Obamacare will put a stop to the 100% increases in premiums we have seen under the GOP….ibles probaly works for an insurance company….
Romney was a great candidate…for the dems…and Lian Ryan—what can I say…other than Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And the alternatives: Palin, Gingrich, Paul, Perry, Insanitorum, etc…we haven’t seen candidates like these since the Keystone Cops…. Where does the right wing GOP get people like these? don’t answer that…
One would think in this day and age it would be an EMBARRASSMENT to quote Rush Slimebaugh….
One would think it would be a sin for Rush Slimebaugh to make $50 million off suckers who can’t discern the duplicitousness and fallaciousness of his utterances….
Yeahhhhhh ! 50 MILLION PLUS ! Eat your heart out, Sucker !
You can dream can’t you ? Got Crying-Towel ?
50 million and Obama STILL got elected!

msnbc had a great montage of the many disgusting statements made on a regular basis on Fox News by a variety of their idiot actors and actresses.
Unbelievable!
Any woman under 65 that can tolerate that cramp with out feeling insulted should have their head examined. Probably yet another demo that has had an impact on Fox News numbers.
Any woman above that age group were raised to accept that nonsense.

How OLD are Greta’s viewers? She lost to Lawrence O’Donnell in both the “demo” AND 35-64, but beats him in total viewers! BTW, Rachel had Frank Rich on as the interview subject, and he has a new column in New York Magazine (not to be confoozed with the New Yorker Magazine).

it means she winning in the 18-24 crowd…you know, those young people that the DNC has taken for granted…

News alert: A Public Policy Poling survey shows Fox News is the least trusted news organization in the U.S.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/02/06/fox-news-credibility-low-poll_n_2632084.html
Now why am I not surprised.
******************************************************
So dishonest…let me guess you didn’t even go to the actual poll, you just went my what the huffington post told you…or if you actually went to PPP, you stopped where Democrats said they didn’t trust Fox…here is a quote directly from PPP, but you gotta read down a bit..
“When it comes to asking Americans which single outlet they trust the most and least out
of the ones we polled on, Fox News once again wins both honors. 34% say it’s the one
they trust the most, compared to 13% for PBS, 12% for CNN, 11% for ABC, 8% for
MSNBC, 6% for CBS, and 5% each for Comedy Central and NBC.”
Would you look at the dismal numbers for MSNMB? the only one worse were NBC and STEWART and COLBERT.
