Mac Miller And The Most Dope Family, MTV2
MTV has long been a supporter of Mac Miller dating back to March 2011 when the network named him as one of MTV’s annual “Artists to Watch” list. Throughout the past two years, Mac has appeared on many of MTV’s music properties and shows and made his mark as a PUSH (Play Until Someone Hears) artist in June 2011, featured performer on “Live in Chicago: Mac Miller” live stream that remains the highest traffic single-artist live stream, O Music Awards, mtvU Woodie Awards and the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards Tour. In addition, Mac shared his comic chops through appearances on MTV2’s comedic game-show series “Hip Hop Squares” and “The Dub Magazine Project,” and shared his life story in his own words on MTV’s recent series “This Is How I Made It.” Mac Miller’s debut album released in 2011, Blue Slide Park, made music history as the first independent album to hit #1 on the Billboard 200 top albums chart since the 1990s. To date, Mac has amassed over three million followers on Twitter and was crowned Complex Magazine’s “Man of Next Year” in December 2012, building anticipation for a huge 2013 for the emerging megastar.
MTV2 targets young men with smart, funny and relevant content, including comedic, music and action-oriented original programming such as “Guy Code,” “Mac Miller and The Most Dope Family,” “Nitro Circus Live,” “The DUB Magazine Project,” ‘Hip Hop Squares,” the weekly hip hop show “The Week in Jams,” and the return of “Nick Cannon Presents Wild ‘N Out” in 2013.
