NBC has ordered one more episode of Chicago Fire, giving it a 24 episode season, per Deadline. Just last week NBC upped its order to 23.We already have the show as a sure renewal in the renew/cancel index. It appears that a strong January performance coupled with the low rated debuts of Do No Harm and Smash has made the network a big fan of its firefighters.

NBC needs to rethink Go on and TNN. This Voice lead in slot (9:00) should be drama like CF. No more comedies on Tuesday!! There are many sitcoms on that day when no comedies are big hits.
Next season, they should try new drama on that slot!
My thinking is CF needs to go to a very troubled timeslot where it can do well. I’m speaking of course about Thur at 10pm that hasn’t had a solid hit since ER retired. It would provide a fine alternative to Scandal & Elementary. With that maneuver then Hannibal can air on Wed at 10pm after SVU.
I forced myself to watch this show because I always like Monica Raymund. I had the season pass on dvr set. But I find myself forwarding through most of the show. I just removed it from my dvr. Sort of like Vegas. I watch Vegas but find myself forwarding through the show except for the “Mob” parts.
Thank God. I hate repeats for shows like this. I’m really enjoying this show, sure it’s not gonna win a Golden Globe or anything but it’s right at home on my PVR cause I watch NASHVILLE live.
Lady Gaga’s boyfriend is stand out but I’m getting so bored with Jesse Spencers one note character *yawn*. The chief is pretty cool, I like him!
Cancel Smash or burn off on Saturdays now, please.
Give Deception some promotion at this point out of the 3 MASSIVE drama FLOPS like DO NO FLOP and SMASH CRASH (Good one whoever made that name) it’s the only one that will likely stay above a 1.
*sorry. I have a riot when you guys come up with those funny FLOP names*
I don’t get one this..
why in the HECK are the two female characters wearing fire fighter overalls..???
They are paramedics!
this show is doing well. give it this season to secure its audience and then move it to thursday for next season. well done, CF, i really think its one of the surprise hits of the season.
How many episodes are left this season?
Great News! I thought this show was going to be a typical jingle show but it has turned out to be much better. I like the storylines (the boy dying was great!)

Best news of the day. I thought Elementary was going to be my favorite show this season, but Chicago Fire is quickly becoming it. And now with the loss of Private Practice, it’s on my Top 5 <3
CHICAGO FLOP! Cancel this piece of crap!
CF is in an awkward spot because it’s a cross between procedural action and serialized soap (I’m reminded of long-running British police soap The Bill) – and it’s got one of each against it. It is doing plenty well enough as it is, but I wonder if it’s losing viewers in two directions. Could it swap with Parenthood next season?
@Laie
Chicago Fire was a hit in the 90′s. It was called Third Watch…..lol
I only watch because of the amazing Eamonn Walker, but the rest of the show torture to get through.
This is a good sign.

CHICAGO FLOP! Cancel this piece of crap!*
Max, is that you? C’mon, if you’re going to post exactly the same comment on multiple posts (complete with Chicago flop in all caps) at least have the guts to use the same user name.
@No_Lie
Yes. That had to be Max. The kid is far from bright. He is just pissed that Nashville is #3
Man, I completely missed the news the last week of CF going to 23 ep. But I’m happy to catch it this time! Yay! This is great!
Nothing will ever compare to Emergency!
Why can’t Chicago Fire have individual rescue incidents that do not continue on to the following week? If the viewer missed the previous episodes than it wouldn’t matter.
I want to view a show about firefighters and paramedics doing their jobs; rather than going further beyond that into their personal lifes.
Days of our Lives with firefighters as the backdrop.
So happy. Too many new shows I start to watch and….cancelled! This is a great procedural. Not a new format, but done extremely well, with great characters and adrenaline. Comparisons to ER!
