The second season premiere of NBC's Smash managed just a 1.1 adults 18-49 rating in its 2 hour premiere on Tuesday night, averaging 4.47 million viewers. That's down from a 3.8 rating and 11.44 million viewers in its first season premiere.

NBC should move “Smash” to the untapped, but growing in popularity, Friday night. NBC would love to get some of the 13 million viewers who tune into CBS’ “Blue Bloods” or have a ratings night winner like ABC’s “Shark Tank.” The demographic is older, but it is a demo that grew up with American Musical Theater. Rethink “Smash” as a musical “All About Eve.”

After all the money that was put into marketing the return of “Smash” the network has to be scrambling for answers.

NBC is still searching for the big drama or comedy megahit. Wonder if they will move up The Voice to premeire sooner? They put alot of chips on this show.
