    Good for Y&R and B&B!!!

  • the_trouble_with_the_truth

I’m not a GH fan, but really loving the Vampire story line. Once it’s over I’m gone!

  • Mike

Way to go Y&R and B&B. I love both shows and glad to see them get the big bump. I just wonder why CBS will release press releases about The Talk and the game shows when they do well, but very rarely ever gives a press release when Y&R and B&B do good. CBS should have been tooting it’s horn that Y&R took back the #1 soap in 18-34 spot.

Wow the day of Steve Burton’s debut GH hit over 5 million viewers. Sadly the bump didn’t last and all of the curious viewers tuned back out the rest of the week.

As I said last week I’m still out on him, but Burton IMO has been more interesting and delivering as far as his performance. But to me the story and all so far is just not interesting enough to make me want to rush home and turn the DVR on.

Soaps have got to learn that stunt casting and stunts might work to get a few eyes to tune in but if you don’t make it entertaining enough for them to stay then you have accomplished nothing.

  • Nick

The vampire story better wrap up quickly before GH loses all its gains from the past year. Port Charles sucked. Bringing it to GH is STUPID!!!!!

  • Mike

Oops my above post (2 up) I mistankenly said that GH hit 5 million viewers on the day of Steve Burton’s debut. I still associate him what that show. It should say Y&R hit 5 million that day.

Want to see good ratings for all soaps.Need to keep the genre going.

  • robert

Steve Burton’s Y&R debut delivered big ratings. Over 5 million viewers. All of the soaps are doing well

  • Dimitrios

On GH, the vampire story should end soon as the Micheal Easton and the OLTL actors ate leaving for a while. Laura and Scott are coming back next week, so hopefully GH will be going up in ratings.

  • LynTX

Good to see Y&R go up. 5m on SB’s Tues debut but dropped back to 4.6 the next day. Y&R only soap to not yet increase yr-over-yr. We’re in sweeps; need better #s, better s/ls to get these viewers back!

  • kevin

thanks, nick. agree, completely. everything was good. now they bring this junk. pc was junk, and that’s why it was always low rated. it’s been gone for about ten years. why give gh something from pc, that viewers clearly didn’t want? hope they don’t ruin the momentum.

  • NBC is awesome

GH has been on fire lately with this vampire storyline! best thing the new guys have done yet!!

  • Greg

GH has been MORE FUN and MORE INTERESTING since they brought Lucy Coe back to GH along with her vampire storyline saga!!! Michael Easton playing both John and Caleb has been great fun to watch…loving Caleb, actually!!! But I don’t want Caleb to be a cold blooded killer but I guess thats what he is. When you get a character like that, no matter how good the actor/character is and how well received the character is by the audience, that character is sadly usually short lived. Sigh. But hopefully Ron C. will figure out a way to keep Caleb on permanently. And OH talk about GREAT CASTING. The guy playing Rafe…not only is he adorable but he’s a great actor, and I guarantee you years down the road he will be a big movie star. GH has a penchant for finding young stars!!!

I stopped watching GH years ago because of the MOB storylines which sucked the life out of the show. But now that the mob stories have been sidelined, and all the characters are being written for (very well I might say) the show is entertaining again. I started watching only because I knew Ron C and Frank V would make the show worth watching the same way they made One Life to Live worth watching.

    GO GH!!!!

  • jay

It seems as if GH has created a new floor for itself when it comes to ratings, and it’s great that they’re staying consistent. As much as the vocal minority would like for people to believe it to be false, fact is the Vampire storyline isn’t driving people away. If anything, it’s creating interest and intrigue.

As good as the ratings and storylines are, they only have higher to go when Laur comes back next week. I know all about her iconic status in the soap world, but I only started watching in 2009 so I’ve never actually seen an episode with her on it, so I’m highly anticipating her return

  • Dan

Well for me i just dont care for the Vampire storyline, cant wait for that to end. But the rest of the show is great and i cant wait to see Laura and Scott back!

Overall good ratings for all soaps.

  • Rob R

DAYS is not too bad. The important number is that it is 245,000 higher than last year. The storylines are gelling right now too.

  • Pat

Great week for the CBS soaps! Y and R increasing over last week was good news.

    B and B hit a 2.8 on Monday… WOW.

  • Kevin A.

Y&R is BACK!!!! It’s so good. This week alone was awesome. Scenes were packed with great anticipation, tension, wonderful performances (Christian LeBlanc and Steve Burton, anyone), and lots of romance.

It going to be a fun winter with Y&R and GH serving up some MUST SEE story lines. :-)

Why do soap fans like primetime blabber act the way they act I mean they alwas put down abc and the chew they say that millions are boycotting and they try to hurt abc by going to their may upfronts complanimg about the soaps and people should take this online revival stuff like a grain of salt
