Last night's Suburgatory gave our very own Cancellation Bear a primetime shout out.
Tessa Altman (Jane Levy) had taken over her high school's internal TV show (renamed Tessa Talk). Sadly for her, and the show, the ratings plunged after the change. Arriving in Mr. Wolfe's (Rex Lee) office, he informs her that “The cancellation bear wants to see you…in his den.” and that the ratings of her show have fallen to the point where it's being canceled.
Mr. Wolfe then shows her a page with the "Cancellation Index" and a graphic of the Cancellation Bear & Tessa.
Where will the bear turn up next?

Even before the shout out, Suburgatory was in no danger of being caught by the bear. Now, it's unthinkable!
Better to Follow The Bear, Than Be Chased By Him. This season you can follow the Cancellation Bear on Twitter via @TheCancelBear. The Cancellation Bear will retweet all the Renew/Cancel Index post titles and links as well as engage in a little more back and forth banter than we do on our standard @TVbytheNumbers Twitter feed.

Wait…
Does this mean the Bear will take it easy on Suburgatory?
Ah, but will the Cancellation Bear come after me because I did not watch SUBURGATORY last night? I’m gonna hide for the moment.
I saw this last night, I thought that was awesome! — The show itself I saw for the 5th time. For me, it’s something I’ve been enjoying lately. Hope it continues so I can see more
Nobody likes a suck up…..(ok, actually we do)
Congrats on the mention in the excellent show Suburgatory! Maybe soon you’ll have Ralph Lamb hunting a bear on Vegas! :0)
That’s.. pretty awesome.
Not just because of the shout out, but because Kapnek and company are reasonable enough to realize that TV (once you’re on the air, anyway) is a pretty rational business.
Cancellation Bear might become as known as “Jumping The Shark”!
@Tom
I see some people on twitter not liking the cancellation bear getting mainstream attention…
We need a CB store for T-shirts, mugs, and other necessities!
Well there you go. Now we know where a lot of TV writers & such look to see if there show is getting cancelled or not.
It was funny even if you knew nothing about TVBTN’s most overfed bear, but after I explained to my family where it was coming from it was even better.Chef Alan is the desired demo. Who knew?
They didn’t mention ME! I’m upset!
Otherwise, that’s fabulous.
This show has really grown on me and is becoming one of my favorites. They always have clever moments and the Cancellation Bear is now one of those subtle moments that make this show great.
Isn’t this trademark infringement? Does The Bear have a Shark lawyer?
Thats awesome they mentioned the Cancilation Bear. He is a very famous bear now even more than he allready was too. I enjoy that show i will have to watch the show later today for sure.
What!? But Tessa Talk did great in total viewership!
I’m waiting for the Bear to sue for illegal use of his name.
That was hilarious!
Time to leverage this publicity into a cable show. How about “TVBTN Tonite”.
It was funny.
Even if you don’t watch the show, check it out for the cancellation bear.
