   unless the ratings become EXTRA terrible (0.5 or under), i’m not giving up on the americans yet. the feedback seems to be good and hopefully word of mouth spreads.

   Syndicated shows can be like an old friend that keeps you company while you do everyday tasks. You already know the episode, so you don’t have to see every second of it to enjoy it. How many times, I wonder, has each of the 251 episodes of M*A*S*H aired in syndication? It went off the air 30 years ago this month (2/28), and still has a spot on TVLand… I think the secret is that TBBT, like M*A*S*H or Seinfield or Friends, is a character-driven ensemble show, and as long as you like the characters, you don’t mind having them around.

   I think it also says that there’s a big audience out there that REALLY rejects the low-budget reality programming choices that dominate the airtime of most cable networks.

   Please, unless The Americans drops substantially, it’s in no real danger. Word of mouth is good, reviews have been positive so panic seems premature at this stage.

   Hell, Justified has been hovering at 0.9 for the past couple of weeks and the sky doesn’t appear to be falling.

   Necessary Roughness is finished at 0.5 & worried about The Americans. If it keeps dropping it’ll be a 1 season wonder like Terriers was.

   Why are folks worried about THE AMERICANS? It is basically doing what the non-hit REVENGE of cable, AMERICAN HORROR STORY was doing and FX stupidly renewed that.

    Necessary Roughness is dying a well deserved death. The show was great for the eight episode first season. Then the writers just had to mess it up by turning it into an ensemble show. The final straw was when the writers put Danni into a romantic triangle with the two leading men. What a cliche.

    Moonshiners only scored 1.1

    Numbers were depressed on Cable as well

    You have no brain. It’s funny lol. AHS got a 1.2 or 1.3 basically every week. Americans is at a 0.8 in only its second episode. It’s not even close. You’re not so bright.

    If the show stay above a 0.5, it will be renewed. 0.5 is the bubble. below 0.5 and it’s canceled.

    Weird that Kroll Show is never published in the ratings on this site. The Futon Critic had it listed as getting a .4

    Such a shame with The Americans…they completely won me over with this episode. I’ll be watching even if its future gets darker in the coming weeks.

    Scary drop for The Americans but it’s still OK for now. Several critics have said that the third episode is their favorite so maybe things will pick back up (or at least stop dropping).

    It’s far soon to tell for the Americans yet. I’m not planning its funeral yet.
