For the right wingers who have not the slightest knowledge of economics or business, let me elucidate you. First, the stimulus DID work but it was too small and not much of it went where is was supposed to go. (If we had had no stimulus, we would be in great depression # 2. The right’s answer is to do NOTHING and let the economy crumble.) Second, China is doing well because they have NO regulations on putting dangerous chemicals in foods, the air (you name it); they pay 90 cents/hr in wages and no benefits. Third, our balance of payments is actually improving. Fourth, the right wing GOP hs been blocking Obama’s job creation programs due to their lack of economics knowledge. Fifth, green energy is the future and the (Obama)US government is correct in supporting it (just as we supported the railroads in the 1860′s and space program in the 1960′s. Sixth, education is needed to guarantee the US’s product and economic superiority in the future and Obama is addressing this as the GOP is sitting on their hands.

Your President gave all the money to the 1%. His friends only, GE , Goldman Sacs, Citi, Bank of America, and bankrupt Green friends. I am sure you got some for you are the 1%. you told me you were rich. I am a poor redneck , you know the kind the 15 like you hate.

  • Doug Z

USA you support this , do you not.

CNN Uses Resignation News to Trash Pope, Catholic Church

CNN showed no such restraint, and immediately used the news as an excuse to launch into a frenzy of Catholic-bashing.

While Piers Morgan, with no evidence whatsoever, used Twitter to spread conspiracy theories…

  • usa8888

Doug–here’s my take on it. I haven’t read the CNN article that you allude to but even though the main Catholic tenets make no sense, if they can keep people from committing murder, stealing, etc., it serves a purpose. People need to remember only one thing and it holds for ALL religions: treat other people the way you would like to be treated. It’s too bad the Catholic Church has had so many child abuse cases, possibly stemming from the priests being forbidden to get married (they used to marry in the 13th Century).

  • Cathy

ApplieStinx, He does want to spend time with his brother who is a retired Priest.

Here’s the story behind the story. For the next month we all get to hear about The Prophecies of St. Malachy. The BEAST is coming. We made it passed Dec 2012, so we need another end of the world story right?

  • Mikey O

@ Coffee Steve Yes Obama’s green investments have not been doing well. Last one a battery company went belly up and the US just approved the Chinesse to buy the comany for pennies on the dollar. We couldn’t find some else to sell it to ???

  • Ratboy

AWWWWWW toooo bad!! No Grammy for you!

Michelle and Bill Shut Out at the Grammies

Both First Lady Michelle Obama and former President Bill Clinton were denied a Grammy last night in the spoken word category, a turn of events that shocked the winner, singer Janis Ian.

“I can’t believe I won over them,” said Ian. “To say this is an upset is an understatement.”

The award, which is generally given out for the best audio book, went to Ian for her reading of “Society’s Child: My Autobiography.”

Ian also somehow bested MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow and Ellen DeGeneres, the other nominees.

@USA8888 and not much of it went where is was supposed to go. Oh it went where it was suppose to go pay offs and kickback to states, unions, and special groups that supported his election. So spend more money so we could wasted it on more payoffs and bad investments. Do you know if all the money has been spent and is there any left ??? Where did it go ??? Since by law they suppose to report every quarter where the money was spent and how many jobs it created we should know that. Hasn’t been a report in almost two years. The people that make and sign laws, they dont need to follow them. Now they get to pick and show the laws they will enforce or not. They have own retiremnt plan and health care plan new laws dont apply to them.

You are the party of the rich.

I’m happy for Janis. I remember how much I liked her ‘Aftertones’ album. Had not seen her in years. Shocked to see her now with all-white hair.

Mr USA did you go spending today. Obama gave to the rich like you.

Fed’s Holdings of U.S. Gov’t Debt Hit Record $1,696,691,000,000; Up 257% Under Obama

  • Doug Z

    Mr USa Jeff and Mark2

Fed’s Holdings of U.S. Gov’t Debt Hit Record $1,696,691,000,000; Up 257% Under Obama

they are buying debt so to keep spending up. How will they sell this debt. The % rates will go thought the roof. If you own bonds you will lose at least 50%. Stock Market is holding up because of this. It will crash.

  • usa8888

The debt was caused by Bush’s unfunded wars, drug programs, and tax cuts and also by the economic meltdown which required stimulus and loans to avert disaster. The right has no education in eonomics and doesn’t understand. Fortunately, we have a super intellect (Obama) in charge and if the uneducated right would stay out of the way and stop obstructing, the country will be just fine…
