Up All Night is switching formats from single-camera to multi-camera. The series has also changed showrunners multiple times. Now the show will have to recast. The series star Christina Applegate has decided to leave the show, Deadline reports. NBC is allegedly still determined to proceed with the show, which has yet to film any of its multi-camera episodes, and is considering Lisa Kudrow as a replacement for Applegate. May we humbly suggest that NBC think outside the box and consider recent Suburgatory guest star The Cancellation Bear for the role?

so she’s leaving the sinking ship
Rats leave first..
There was no excuse to reboot this series, it was great as it was before, it was a better version of Raising Hope and this is the final straw, I’m not watching this show anymore.
Aren’t these 5 episodes supposed to be ready by the end of this season? No way that’s gonna happen now. Just put the show out of its misery; without Applegate’s character, it’s not even the same show… why waste any more money, time, or energy on an experiment that, in all likelihood, will fail? NBC needs to cut their losses and move on.
Isn’t that kinda the nail in it all?
I mean the MAIN star is jumping ship! lol
nbc is big mess now. If they continue this way no one respected producer/director/creator/showrunner will want to work for them.
This is horrible news, the show can’t continue without her.
Just cancel it. It’s dead without her. What are they going to do pull a Valerie Harper like they did with her old sitcom killing her off and keeping the show running with a relative coming on?
Hopefully whoever broke this show (going back to reshooting the pilot and the idiotic decisions since) is fired and never works in TV again. It reminds me of how CW broke Reaper.
No point in continuing on at this point, Applegate was one of the main reasons I watched it in the first place. Just end it and let everyone out of their contracts.
Recasting Reagan would be an idiotic idea too. That rarely works.
What the hell?! This is very sad news… Now I don’t have any faith in the 3rd season regardless if it performs better than the 1.3 range than the other NBC sitcoms, IF those episodes get filmed at all…
What a comcastic mess! How about a bake sale NBC?
She’s jumping the ship before it jumps her
WOW!!!! NBC REALLY wants this show to work, but the problem is, NO ONE ELSE DOES. Not even the cast!!! loling so much at this. However, I still definitely want to watch those multicam eps, just to see how vastly different it will be.
She’s obviously unhappy with all the changes, don’t blame her one little bit. I’m sure NBC has put money into the reboot but they should just let it go, too many changes won’t work with fans.
Stick a fork in it!
I wonder if it’s too late to order additional episodes of Guys With Kids or Whitney.
@Petar Ivanov
Uh, Peter, dear? What respected producer, director, etc. wouldn’t want to work with NBC? Their ratings may be in the dump right now, but the network is still a well-respected, long-running network that has 100% availability to everybody in the country. The perfect platform to launch a show to a large audience.
Any show runner that would ditch NBC because of the rarity of what is happening behind the scenes on UPN is deluded.
@Oliver
I doubt NBC will do that. They’re rated lower than Community and Parks and Rec.
