    @Omabin – I take all your points but actually POI is a stronger lead in most recent weeks than M&M – being ahead in the demo and also way ahead in overall viewers (15mill compared to around 10-11 mill). Elementary has a bigger lead in, on the most watched night of TV and one strong show against it. HFO has Castle which is a long term, well performing show for ABC and then Revolution. Plus the football.

    But all of that is – in reality – kind of splitting hairs. there’s not enough really between CSI, HFO and Elementary to call it on numbers alone. They’re all doing pretty similar performces really. The thing that should stand for moving Elementary to the weekend slots and not HFO – if CBS have a brain in their heads which is doubtful after their decisions of the last couple of years. Is that Elementary has no syndication deal and isn’t as big a hit in international markets. Therefore i’d argue that on money alone, HFO is a much bigger cash cow for them.

    POI Rocks.

  3. Angel Trend

    Community came back stronger last spring than this time around, its numbers are going to be worse this season.

    I mean seriously how can you get a 2.0 and only have 4 million viewers? That doesn’t make any sense.

    This is just a general comment about how you can improve your comments section. Can you not put in a reply button after each comment, so if someone wants to address that poster, they can do so right there. Then, we won’t have to see the reply pages later and wonder what they are talking about. That way, the comments and the replies stay together.

  5. Lucinders

    Jeez, while you’re at it, put in an edit button for people like me. I just realized I had a “not” in previous comment, when there should be none. I meant “Can you put in a reply button after each comment?”

    @SamG 0.5/0.6 for TCD not .4/.5

    @”And to add to that, Person of Interest‘s largest advantage over Grey’s Anatomy this season was only 4 tenths of a ratings point (3.2 vs. 2.8, 01/31). Grey’s Anatomy‘s largest advantage over Person of Interest this season was 1.5 full ratings points (4.4 vs. 2.9, 09/27).”

    Wow! That’s a huge drop on GA since season opening.
    It shows GA is going down hill while POI steadily and surely going up.

    @Bluejays.

    Scandal is just as much competition against elementary as Revolution is for H50. And in recent weeks H50 has been going up against deception and hasn’t grown its audience at all.

  9. JC

    Exactly Sarah.

    Elementary, in my opinion, won’t be cancelled. The ratings aren’t low enough.

  10. JS

    Praising NBC for any of its shows is the same as praising a handicapped person for finishing a race hours behind the winners. NBC is run by handicapped brains.

    Of course Elementary will not be cancelled, but still CBS must be disappointed with these ratings. It’s a new show aired on the strongest evening of the week with TBBT as the huge opener. I enjoy the show, but unless it improves, it will not get third season. As for POI it’s a solid performer, not a big hit like some fans suggest. It loses quite a lot from its lead in TAHM, usually around 1.0 in demo – that’s big for a 9 pm show. Again sitcom and drama don’t fit so well together.

    Lets wait a few weeks before saying Community should be back its possible there could be a huge drop.

    “That’s an absolute fallacy. Person of Interest has beaten Grey’s Anatomy merely 2 times, whereas Grey’s Anatomy has beaten Person of Interest 8 times.”

    Poor Melissa. Get help. You are totally obsessed over this grays vs. POI thing. Geez, my post was not even meant for you to respond to and you did it it anyway. Seek counseling. You need it.

  14. JC

    I’m not saying it will get a third season Ateofi, only that it will get a second season at it’s current pace.

    Yep. But doubt will help her or other soapy/Greys fans.

  16. Petar Ivanov

    And POI beat Greys every wewk in PEOPLE CHOICE – VIEWERS. If we will talk only for 18-49 not other demos which is important only for renew/cancel index and TV netwotks making money than we should talk which show is more expensive and which cheaper. Which show will get huge syndication deal etc.

    POI all cast is 400-500 000$ per spisode. Greys only one actor take that money and all cast is around 2 million $ per episode.

  17. Brian J

    @JS:

    Your insulting analogy aside, it’s better for NBC, which is the point. Whether or not the rise for “Community” might have come at the expense of another network isn’t as important as the fact that it was up.

  18. Serene

    Yes Greys costs more but it makes them loads of money. The 18-34 demo which advertisers look at the most Greys (2.5) is the top rated drama and POI (1.5)falls way short. And it says a lot that POI needs 15 mil viewers to reach 3.1, while Greys does it with just 9 mil. POI has one of the lowest 18-34 demo of the night (behind The Office, Glee ).

    Another problem for POI will be spring ratings. Last year it fall to a 2.6 for the season finale. And that’s not a rating CBS can be happy with. Especially with the lead in they give to POI.

    Won’t matter. Pretty sure that CBS is happy with the current trend in the ratings and it will be renewed. #lovePOI

    what makes you think POI will fall to 2.6? btw, I’ve never cared for it’s lead-in show (TAAHM).

    POI is a young show and trending upwards.
