Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

  • BigFlop

    Only two shows have good ratings for ABC this year: Greys and Scandal, (what a coincidence! both shows are the most promoted by ABC)
    Is Shonda pulling the rug out from under the others ABC shows? LOL

  • Jimmy James

    The result of more people watching Community is… now they’ve seen it. They won’t be back.

  • Ram510

    They really should switch 1600 and Community’s time slot. 1600 is clearly not working and it would be worth moving Community away from TBBT and AI.

  • CBSviewer

    CBS should cancel all the new Dramas and Renew all their veterans in danger !

  • Ricardo

    So… with The Office gone… are Community and Parks and Recreation the highest rated comedies on NBC? XD

  • aciel

    @bigflop
    because both of these shows have no competition and btw ouat gets better ratings than scandal

  • Ram510

    Eventhough Community did better than last season premiere and finale, didn’t Community get a 2.1(?) when it returned last year in March? So could this be seen as down from last years “midseason” premiere?

  • ateofi

    K
    LOL
    I like reading posts of you naysayers regarding Elementary. The show is really good, it is a hit, regardless and it will most likely be renewed.
    ——————————————————-
    I like Elementary as well, but it’s not a hit – currently average ratings are 2.37 in the strongest CBS evening of the whole week. Moreover, it’s just the first season.

  • aciel

    it seems to me that whenever scandal gets high ratings all of the other shows on abc drop in ratings like castle, greys anatomy, revenge and ouat is scandal keeping all of the other shows on abc down? maybe that should be the only show on abc

  • mando

    It’s time to rethink..Community turns out to be a better sitcom than Go On and TNN, and 1600Penn which are against less competition.

  • Sheila

    Sad to see that Vampire Diaries dropped. Last night’s episode was so amazing! Loved all the twists and turns regarding the search for the cure. I actually really like the love triangle still too. I wanted to keep watching more! Also sad to see that Beauty & The Beast’s ratings dropped. That show keeps getting better and better each episode & I’m a huge Catherine/Vincent fan. I don’t really like Alex at all. Yay Glee went up! Love the show & I hope the ratings continue to increase!

  • Brandy

    Wow Big Bang went up a lot from last week.Sad VD & BatB are down.CW has a intersting delima: BatB ,seems lead in dependant,cant keep VDs audience,will possibly fall more this spring and next season if renewed & moved,.its not a self starter and with all the promotion and best leadin, should be doing better ratings.On the other hand, its stable at 0.6_0.7, won a PCA,is rumored to be cheap to make,and do well online and internationally and is a genre show that matches with the direction of CW next season.They didnt want to try and renew& move SC so will they want to with BatB?
    CD: selfstarter, no leadin doing same ratings as BATB/,HOD,its ratings have risen the last couple weeks,it has a hit franchise behind it and CW seems to support ii with a lot of promotion and reruns.On the other hand, it dosent fit the genre brand theyre going with next season,its ratings could still crash and im not how it does online,dvr or internationally,its ratings arent great and might fall if renewed,and I dont know about the cost to produce the show.
    HoD: stable in ratings in season two, a self stsrter and this season has no leadin and gets the same ratings as BaTB behind the best leadin.Its rumored to be cheap to produce, does well online,dvr,ondand.On the other hand, will CW want to renew it at middling ratings for two more seasons for syndication?Its also not of the genre brand CW is going with next season.

    Team Lazaro on American Idol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

  • CookyMonzta

    4.1 is not much of a surprise, but 13.2 million, oh my! ‘Idol’ is headed down into the 12-million range in a BIG hurry. That’s a little more than what the 1st season of X-Factor USA started off with.

    This is definitely going to bring its season average down. I predicted it would finish at #6 for all of its episodes combined. They might have to fight to finish at #7! Brace yourselves for next week.

  • Ram510

    @John M

    Can you honestly say that you knew it was Verna was the one who tried to have the President killed. I don’t think too many people besides Shonda knew that

  • CookyMonzta

    To say nothing of ‘The Big Bang Theory'; they are smokin’! Can they hit 20 million before the season is over?

  • JSunkist

    @CookyMonzta

    The January 10th, BBT averaged 20.00 :)

  • JSunkist

    @CookyMonzta

    The January 10th, 2013 BBT averaged 20.00 :)

  • jimmers

    what is up with Sandal vs Revenge? Really? We are not kids.

  • poseur

    When Community started last night, I was horrified. I’d heard that the show had changed with the absence of Harmon, and not for the better, but a LAUGH TRACK? STUPID BIG BANG THEORY style crappy jokes and smirks?

    I got Catfished. Hilarious.
