Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

TBBT just crushed Idol in its 8:00 half hour

    TBBT 18.85 million 6.1/18

    American Idol 12.32 million 3.8/11

What total domination of Idol by TBBT. Wow.

  • alex

    @Jason
I don’t think people here fight because of the color issue. Stop making false accusation.

  • David Howell

Cue a lot of “see? You need our shows! Why didn’t you give POI the SB leadout?” emails/phone calls from WB to CBS, I imagine.

Granted, this was – for reasons impossible to foresee – the worst year ever to get a SB boost for a show. And it’s still well clear of the bear.

What an amazing momentum shift for Scandal though. It barely survived last season, now it’s nearly ABC’s #1 drama! Is that a series high for the show?

  • Bookworm

Nashville has two Golden Globes nominees but we see how those ratings look.
    Irrelevant.

For the record, Grey did not run two minutes over the hour. Scandal started at 10pm last night.

  • senor chang

NBC has to pull Do No Harm at this point. they were literally one-tenth away from tying for lowest-rated of the night. with freaking Beauty and the Beast.

  • Community

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!! SIX SEASONS AND A MOTHA F****** MOVIE!!!!!!

  • beegun

I hope NBC airs all episodes of Do No Harm. It’s such a FUN show.:(

The 2nd episode was better than the pilot.

  • Idol

I think The Office will beat Glee next week.

  • eridapo

    Elemen 2.4 11.56/ 2.2 10.48

    Do No Harm .7 2.22/ .6 2.14

  • Martin

Knew it, BATB is just gonna keep going down like The Secret Circle and Ringer did last year and Emily Owens,M.D. just stayed steady all along or even grew, demo wasn’t great but its last ever episode :( had same viewer total as BATB.

NBC from 9.30 onwards sucks, Community and Parks and Rec did really well, especially for NBC, against American Idol and the CBS comedies.

  • senor chang

fill the slot with reruns of Rock Center/Grimm/Revolution instead. holding onto a dead show walking won’t do any good.

(talking from a ratings standpoint, obviously. I liked the pilot but didn’t bother watching the second ep once I saw the ratings)

  • Stuart

@Gerry I was just trying to figure out what NBC’s press release would say later today. I understand that Do No Harm airs on NBC…

  • feinn

If you think ratings are bad today, wait to next week , Valentine’s day depressed ratings

  • jack for The Big Bang Theory

WOOOOO!!! GO BIG BANG THEORY!!! KEEP GETTING BIGGER!!! WOWHOOO!!!!

  • Mary

And I thought BatB last night was really good! I’m glad there was some action this time, and I’m so glad the “other woman” is gone. I think Vince and Cat have so much chemistry and I’m glad she laid it on the line like I’m not going to be a second choice. Love it!

  • Win

Hope Scandal isn’t adjusted down. I do hope BatB is. Only to put those crazy show bashing stans in their place.

  • danny94

Great Ratings For Scandal, But i have seen the show and it is Awful. Good Ratings Dosnt mean a good show. Look At Nashville this years best new show and it cant even get a 2.0!!!

  • John A

Whats with all Elementary being a flop nonsense? 2.3 is good for a 10pm show.

  • CrimTV

I don’t see how Glee did so bad.

    Last week:

    American Idol – 4.5
    Glee – 2.1

    This week:

    American Idol – 4.1
    Glee – 2.2

  • Markitos

I’m so happy for Parks and Rec, Grey’s & Scandal :D Good for Community!
