Will the 'Touch' Premiere Have the Magic Touch? - Poll

Long-delayed season premiere week continues as Touch debuts tonight on FOX. Last season it started big with a 3.3 adults 18-49 rating for its official premiere on March 22. But its ratings declined throughout the season. Its finale earned a 1.3 adults 18-49 rating on May 31. So how do you think its two hour premiere will fare tonight? Its facing the series premiere of new reality series The Job and, at 9PM, Friday night powerhouse Shark Tank. Make your predictions below.

  • Ben

I agree with Dan S. The CSI/CSI:NY part 2 crossover, [part 1 did very well on Wednesday night, getting better ratings than Nashville (ABC) and Chicago Fire(NBC)], will probably hurt Touch from 9 to 10 PM. Although there are a lot of people predicting the end of CSI:NY, it’s ratings are still okay for a Friday night, especially when they try something different for a chance of pace episode.

Hate the show but I think it’s a good fit for Friday. 1.7.

  • Reache

1.5 is safe bet, but won’t surprise low-1’s.

  • joterri

I tried the 1st season but can’thang with the second….

  • Nope

I don’t care. Whatever is better for getting a 24 movie underway.

Which is better? That the show fails and opens up Keifer’s schedule, or that the show succeeds and FOX gets enhanced faith in Keifer?

  • Josh

They should have cancelled this crap and kept Alcatraz

  • Shepherd

The only thing Touch has going for it tonight is the big snow storm. The show was easily one of, if not the second worst (quality wise) new shows last year (I can’t forget about The River), and imo I don’t believe Fox renewed it based on ratings. Touch had a lower average than both Terra Nova and Alcatraz, and in my opinion, the decision to renew Touch was the worst renewal of freshman shows last season and that includes Smash. I guess the Sutherlands have some kind of mystic control over there.

I wish I could remember what the ratings for the ‘bonus’ episode were. Anyone? I think it was a 1.1, but I simply don’t remember.

At any rate, I’m going with a .9-1.0 giving the show a .1 boost due to the storm; otherwise i would be leaning towards .8.

1.2-1.3 Fox Friday can’t get higher ratings !

  • KS

I will be surprised if this show gets more than 1.1

  • jessica

    A 0.something wouldn’t surprise me.

  • Shepherd

ahhh.. Thanks Tony. .7 for the ‘bonus’ episode huh. I’ll have to revise my guess and go with the .8 including the 1/10 bump from the weather.

  • The End

    Below 1.0, likely 0.9.

Nothing against the show, I like it. I wanted it on a better day even. But Friday just won’t work for it.

  • psychic

Touch will get Fringe numbers and be axed within two months.

  • psychic

    Friday night death slot ftw.

  • rehabber

I was getting bored with it last season, will give it a chance again, for at least 2 ep.

  • networkman

I really concerned about Touch this season. It has been off the air for a long time. There is absolutely no buzz around the show. It doesn’t have a loyal fanbase. And then there is the competition. The Job looks really good. I believe it has Lisa Ling. And then there is the heavily promoted crossover episode of CSI:NY.

I’m going with a 1.4 for Touch tonight. 2 hours may be too long. I’ll say it starts with a 1.5 for the first hout and then goes down to 1.3 in the second. Going against Shark Tank and even Dateline will prove to be a challenge for this drama. FOX may need to go either with comedies or animation on Friday next season.

This show is so corny and sentimentalist it makes me puke, and I’ gay. You know it’s bad when gays are like -Too corny for me! Hahaha

  • Red Jane

You are kidding right? This is going to be an epic disaster – it was by the end of season 1 so returning mid-season on a friday night… won’t help things…

  • Jared

    Touch is gonna tank tonight.
