TV Ratings Friday: 'Touch' Premiere Down, 'The Job' Debuts Low, 'Last Man Standing' & 'Nikita' Up

ABC was number one in adults 18-49 while CBS was on top with total viewers.

On ABC, Last Man Standing earned a 1.6 adults 18-49 rating up 14 percent from last week’s 1.4.  Malibu Country scored a 1.3 up 8 percent from last week’s 1.2 adults 18-49 rating. Shark Tank garnered a 1.9 adults 18-49 rating, even with last week. 20/20 notched a 1.3 down 13 percent from last week’s 1.5 adults 18-49 rating.

On CBS, the series premier of The Job scored a 0.9 adults 19-49 rating, down 53 percent from Undercover Boss’s 1.9 premiere on November 9. CSI:NY matched its season high with a 1.6 up 7 percent from last week’s 1.5 adults 18-49 rating Blue Bloods garnered a 1.5 among adults 18-49, even with last week.

On FOX, the season premiere of Touch earned a 1.0 adults 18-49 rating, down 70 percent from a 3.3 for last season’s premiere on March 22 and down 30 percent from  a 1.3 for the season finale on May 31. Your predictions were too optimistic.

On NBC a two hour Dateline garnered a 1.5 adults 18-49 rating up 36 percent from a 1.1. for last week’s one hour episode. Rock Center scored a 1.3 adults 18-49 rating up 63 percent from a 0.8 for its previous original episode on January 24.

On the CW, Nikita matched its season high with a 0.5 adults 18-49 rating up 25 percent from last week’s 0.4.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.  More information on ratings is available here.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    Go Nikita! Maybe the Netflix deal is helping with the ratings. My daughter just got her boyfriend into Nikita via DVD and Netflix, so maybe others are getting there as well. It’s too bad about Touch, well I don’t watch Touch, so not about Touch, but it’s too bad that they could have given Fringe a 22 episode final season and the ratings would have been the same. Oh, well if networks had crystal balls, Do Not Harm would never have seen the light of day.

    Too bad CW isn’t going to air a new Nikita next week. It was gaining momentum. Will The CW soon run new episodes of Nikita uninterrupted cause Nikita has aired the fewest new episodes out of all the CW shows that started in the fall. Arrow – 13 Supernatural – 14 Vampire Diaries – 13 Nikita – 10. I hope when it comes back its uninterrupted through March

    I quite enjoyed The Job. It was good but then again like Undercover Boss, the ratings might depend on what company is hosting. I didn’t expect it to bomb this hard.

    Touch was hardly promoted and they kept pushing back its premiere date, it’s like they wanted to lose viewers to have a reason to cancel it. Shame.

    Oh thats really good for Nikita! I wasn’t expecting that, but at least this proves to the people that said when no scripted shows were showing on the other day it got a 0.5 rating! Nikita is now definitely going to have to get renewed due to the fact that last season it was also hitting 0.4 towards the end of the season so thats good News! Can’t wait till the Next episode on the 22nd of Feb! Promo Looks Amazing- not going to miss it! :) Thank you everyone who still watches Nikita and Keep watching! :)

    @NBC needs to do 2 hours of Dateline leading into Grimm. It would be extremely solid night for them

    Nice to see Nikita back up.
    I had no guess for The Job, but everyone here said it looked good, I guess it didn’t pull any viewers away from Touch after all.
    Good numbers for Touch all things considered. I doubt Fox expected it to do much better.
    Any 1/2 hour or hour split numbers for Touch?

    awesome for Nikita! hopefully it isn’t adjusted down. Last night’s episode was great and that ending was pretty ominous, Division is basically in the same position it was when Percy ran things. Bad for the Team, good for the viewers.

    I wonder what Syndicated show aired before Nikita to give it aboast? It had 1.48 Million and 0.6 demo then dropped to 1.37 million and 0.5 demo.
