    John A VD wont have 88 episodes til this current fourth season ends

  • Dan S

    I don’t think NY may be finished just yet. If Golden Boy tanks that could give a strong argument to renewing it for a final season. Nikita as well will likely see at least 1 more season along with LMS on ABC. Touch however along with The Job are history

  • John A

    I know that but you would think a Syndication deal would be in place for it on some network.

  • SamG

    Yeah i think CSINY can get one more season if GoldenBoy bombs. If not i hope it gets a proper series finale.

    Go Nikita:smile: such a great show.

  • Ultima

    @John A
    I know that but you would think a Syndication deal would be in place for it on some network.

    Presumably if they can’t get a good deal somewhere, The Vampire Diaries will end up on TNT.

  • Beauty and flop

    Nikita going strong! Eat it losers.and haters!

  • JJA

    Pleasantly surprised with Nikita (for a change). Really hope it makes it to a full season 4. Fingers crossed!!

    Also, I miss Grimm!!

  • iggy

    I would agree that CSI: NY would be on the chopping block, if Made in Jersey and Partners and The Job and Vegas had not tanked, and if The Good Wife and The Mentalist were doing better, and if Elementary wasn’t trending downward.

  • david

    good to see Nikita keep the .5 that it got. thats 2 .5s it has gotten this season.

  • Brandy

    Ultima, where did you hear that?TNTs ALL cop shows besides F&B a lawyer show, no way would VD fit there or theyd want it.Plus TNT skews old.

  • rob60990

    TnT has Charmed, Smallville, & Supernatural. I believe they showed Buffy & Angel for a period of time.

  • Lance

    Rock Center may have finally found a timeslot that works. All 3 10:00 shows finished within .3 of each other. Not bad.

  • networkman

    I believe both CSI:NY and The Good Wife could share a timeslot next year both for their final seasons. Both would have a shorten episode order. The Good Wife getting to 100 total episodes and CSI:NY crossing 200 episode.

    Last Man Standing is really good for ABC on Friday. It now has over 1 million more viewers than Reba’s Malibu Country. And it skewed younger than Revenge. I still feel even if Revenge only pulls in slightly over 5 million viewers it should skew younger than it does. It consist of a younger, attractive cast. It has to get back to at least 2.0

  • Nick

    @networkman

    And it skewed younger than Revenge

    No, it didn’t. Revenge had a 1.4 rating and 5.1 million viewers, and LMS had a 1.5 rating and 7.3 million viewers. Despite LMS having more overall 18-49 viewers, Revenge’s ratio of demo viewers to out-of-demo viewers is larger than LMS’s.

    I think if Beauty, Carrie, ANTM, or Cult gets renewed they will be paired with Nikita. I have a feeling Nikita will be moved back to 9/8c next season and the CW might as well label it the final season and tell the writers to end it on a good note because the main reason it is being renewed is for syndication. Though, Mark is a fan of the show is not happy about the ratings but is probably happy that its getting .5′s. I would love though if Nikita was moved to the summer for 13 ep seasons. I think that it would be a hit in the summer, like ANTM and the show will be around longer. Since most of the shows are lighter and ANTM pulled a .6 a few times which means it did better in the time slot.

    rob60990: “I can’t wait to see how Nikita does in syndication, if it even gets a deal.”

    And how would you know how well it does in syndication if the syndication is entirely overseas?

    Obviously WB thinks it will get a deal. No one has any better estimate of that than WB.

    John A: “Nikita is only beating 90210.”

    But it IS beating 90210. Also the point of the no adjustment is that some haters here claimed it “always” adjusts down, which is simply not true.

    “DenverDean: “Nikita only needs 21 episodes to make 88 and even that isn’t a magic number.”

    It’s close enough. Why make a stripped syndication show with less than 88 episodes if you can reach 88 episodes? Why make a show with 21 episodes when you make 22 as long as the profit estimate still works?

    “If the create 17 or more, that will be enough – 84 isn’t a big difference from 88.”

    I still don’t see the CW putting the show on in the summer every week for 17 weeks for season four. No one else does that. The cable shows are mostly 16 episodes with maybe ten in the summer and the rest in the fall. Doing a split season for Nikita would just knock the ratings down further, most likely.

    I think the CW needs Nikita to hold one slot on Fridays with semi-decent Friday ratings (decent for the CW, that is.) A stable Nikita averaging .5 does that. Putting anything else there that is only doing a .5-.7 on a week night – which is everything the CW has except Arrow, TVD and Supernatural – isn’t going to do any better than Nikita. Might as well keep Nikita for the syndication low cost offer from WB and cancel some other low-rated show rather than move Nikita to summer and slot some other low-rated show into Friday in the fall where it will do worse or at least no better than Nikita.

    There’s just no reason to move the show or cut the episodes. I don’t, however, think there will be a season five to get extended syndication episodes as was done with Fringe. It’s not impossible, but I think it’s very unlikely.

  • Richard Steven Hack

    I might add, the extended syndication episodes for Fringe that got Fringe a fifth season resulted in the worst crap the show has ever aired. The entire season was just abysmal compared to seasons one and two.

  • Bern

    Nikita season 4 here we come.

  • Ram510

    Aww man I was really hoping Nikita would adjust up to a .6. Maybe it will get a .6 in 2 weeks!

  • Dave

    @Richard

    I really love reading your comments. You’re crude yet respectfully intelligent. ;)

    I have a feeling ratings will maintain a 0.5 or go up for Nikita next week. The fangirls are RAVING over Sean Pierce and “Salex” and the upcoming episode seems to focus on Sean so that could help.
