Definitions:

DVR (Time-shifted) Adults 18-49 Ratings – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data LiveLive+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs.

Live+Same Day(Live+SD) ratings include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing.

Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

DVR Ratings Increase Past Airdate - How many people watched the show on their DVRs within 7 days following the airdate

Until the 2009-2010 season, we used a show's LIVE program rating or viewership as the base upon which the LIVE+7 day DVR viewing was added. Now, the press seems to be standardizing around using LIVE+SAME DAY DVR viewing as the base for the calculations, so that's what we do now as well.

I find it interesting that Arrow was not on the top Percentage Increase list.

I believe that both Supernatural and Arrow received 0.9′s that week – SPN went up to a 1.4. As Arrow was not on the list, is it safe to assume that SPN actually scored a higher Live +7 18-49 rating?

  • Win

That’s what I was thinking, Did arrow not increase very much, if at all? I also find it interesting how BatB is not on here. But HoD Climbs It way up the totem pole, scoring higher than all other shows not Arrow, SPN, and TVD with lIVE+7. Too bad these count for nothing really.

  • seth52

    @Mae

Actually Arrow recevied a 1.1 that week.

  • Vance

Mae, that is incorrect. Arrow scored a 1.1 that week.

Arrow’s Live+7 rating might have been as high as 1.5 for that week.

  • Roswell

Keep it up 90210 just hang In there. Well get our final season

  • NY

Interesting to see that both Go On and The New Normal have 1.9 when DVR is counted. Tuesday is a wrong night, NBC?

  • Nicofac

    ¤ 3×13 : Olelo Ho’Opa’I Make

Still no rating Live+7 for this episode ?

  • TV Freeeeek

    GLEE #’s not too shabby.

  • Geraint (Wales)

What about The Big Bang Theory?

  • Mary 1

Look at Nashville’s number. It doesn’t look like it’s dead in the water like people were thinking.

Parenthood and Parks & Recs are still looking good for renewal. When deciding between all NBC’s low rated comedies maybe they’ll consider those increases for Go On and The New Normal.

  • Ram510

Is adding a 2.5 in the demo a new record?

  • Skylar James

Modern Family may be down a huge amount in live viewers, but its Live+7 ratings are impressive

  • Shepherd

Wow, I don’t know why, but these numbers for The Following look impressive. I’m not normally one to hark about scheduling, but maybe FOX needs to find a slot for this show where more people are able to watch live. Perhaps their DVR campaign was just a little too successful.

  • Wright

Good to see SPN, TVD and HOD on the list.

  • Shepherd

    @Ram510

I don’t know Ram, but I’m sure if it were a record, ABC would have said something about it in their press release.

  • DougF

That’s gotta hurt the nikita lunatics. Supernatural’s DVR rating by itself was the same as nikita’s live rating that week.

  • Shepherd

they did mention it was the largest gain of the season for a simgle episode though.

  • Dave

    Wow @ The Following! :D

Hands down it’s this seasons best new drama.

No Nikita on the list but hey, S4 is on its way! :D

  • Patrick Ausgewahlt

DVR has a certain amount of meaning. DVR viewing isn’t affected by lead in. So it shows the shows audience without a lead in. I always try to watch shows live but I can’t on Thursday as I watch 7 shows (Community, Parks and Rec, The Office, 1600 Penn, The Big Bang Theory, 2 and a Half Men, and Glee). Not enough time in the day.

  • Judy912

Glad to see ‘Castle’ did good this week. Imagine being 13th most watched DVR’d program with the prime 18-49 age viewers and THIRD most DVR’d program with the overall viewers. Fantastic!! Gosh I love this series!
