Due to the nature of live programming the ratings for CBS (Grammy Awards) are approximate and subject to more than the typical adjustments in the final numbers. See below for more information on these Fast Affiliate Ratings.

CBS was number one among adults 18-49 and with total viewers.

On CBS, The 2013 Grammy Awards earned a 10.0 10.1 (per updated fast nationals) from 8:00-11:30,  down more than four ratings points from last year's monster 14.1 adults 18-49 rating (which was fueled by a Whitney Houston memorial tribute) but matching the ceremony's best 18-49 rating since 2011. Earlier in the night, 60 Minutes earned a 1.9, up two tenths from its last original's 1.7 two weeks ago.

On FOX  The Cleveland Show scored a 1.3, up a tenth from its last original's 1.2 adults 18-49 rating. The Simpsons earned a 2.1, down two tenths from its last original's 2.3 adults 18-49 rating.. Bob's Burgers earned a 1.8, down two tenths from its last original's 2.0 adults 18-49 rating. Family Guy earned a 2.4, down half a ratings point  from its last original's 2.9. American Dad earned a 2.0, down two tenths from its last original's 2.2 adults 18-49 rating.

On ABC, Once Upon A Time returned from hiatus to a  series low 2.2 rating from its last original's season-low 2.4 adults 18-49 rating. Revenge earned a 1.4, also hitting a series low, down three tenths from its last original's 1.7 adults 18-49 rating. Revenge for Real premiered to a dismal 0.8 adults 18-49 rating. Earlier in the night, America's Funniest Home Videos earned a 1.8 adults 18-49 rating, up half a ratings point from its last original's 1.3 adults 18-49 rating

Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    Hello REVENGERS…

Let us discuss the excuses because I am ready to hear them. Allow me to say them first though…

    1. ABC has awful scheduling. Who knows when our show is on.
    2. The GRAMMYS are a killer to our show.
    3. We are slowly entering a new season and ratings are naturally dropping.
    4. THE WALKING DEAD was back.
    5. No one knew the show was on due to lack of promotion.
    6. It is doing so well on ITUNES right now.
    7. International sales are insanely huge right now.
    8. They should have never moved it from Wednesdays.
    9. It isn’t compatible at all with ONCE UPON A TIME.

I’m sure others will come up with many other elaborate and perhaps even more entertaining reasons.

Just face the facts- REVENGE has been in a downward spiral since season two started because fans are realizing how bad the show truly is. They are over the endless storylines that have no direction (message board reactions, not my own) and they are finding much more compelling television. And yes, they are turning to my beloved SCANDAL for their guilty pleasure fix.

From certain renewal to likely renewal to soon… on the bubble. REVENGE fans better hope the new dramas airing soon (as well as BODY OF PROOF) bomb or this show could be in serious danger of being two seasons and done.

    Revenge is a goner.

  • Nathan

  • Avery

    @Max
    I agree.
Scandal’s ratings and positive word-of-mouth are going up while Revenge is going down.

  • Travis

Revenge is fine. Sad ratings, yes. But it’s fine.

  • Tom

    ouch for abc.

  • Nik

A 1.4 for Revenge, though? That’s insane. I didn’t expect Revenge to be hit that badly.

  • MDM

Fox animated shows did rather well against the Grammys.

  • wichitahusker

why do people keep saying/thinking that last year’s Grammy numbers had much of anything to do with Whitney Houston (who hadn’t been relevant in over a decade)? The numbers were because of Adele, plain and simple.

  • BH

LOL at MAX do you write your “essay” on Revenge way before the actual ratings show up? How cute! :D.

  • Kevin

ABC is so stupid for airing Once Upon a Time and Revenge on these days.
Next week Once and Revenge will rise, hopefully enough that this can be forgotten.

  • ally

Max You Must have a very Sad life. If you hate Revenge so much why do you spent so much time writing about it. Sad pathetic individual

  • Justin

JT was awful at the Grammy’s last night. I became a fan after Future/Sex Love Sounds, but now I am back to thinking he is a MJ wanna be.

  • alim

  • Holly

Yeah the Grammys were on and Walking Dead premiered, but OUCH for ABC!
