Due to the nature of live programming the ratings for CBS (Grammy Awards) are approximate and subject to more than the typical adjustments in the final numbers. See below for more information on these Fast Affiliate Ratings.

CBS was number one among adults 18-49 and with total viewers.

On CBS, The 2013 Grammy Awards earned a 10.0 10.1 (per updated fast nationals) from 8:00-11:30,  down more than four ratings points from last year's monster 14.1 adults 18-49 rating (which was fueled by a Whitney Houston memorial tribute) but matching the ceremony's best 18-49 rating since 2011. Earlier in the night, 60 Minutes earned a 1.9, up two tenths from its last original's 1.7 two weeks ago.

On FOX  The Cleveland Show scored a 1.3, up a tenth from its last original's 1.2 adults 18-49 rating. The Simpsons earned a 2.1, down two tenths from its last original's 2.3 adults 18-49 rating.. Bob's Burgers earned a 1.8, down two tenths from its last original's 2.0 adults 18-49 rating. Family Guy earned a 2.4, down half a ratings point  from its last original's 2.9. American Dad earned a 2.0, down two tenths from its last original's 2.2 adults 18-49 rating.

On ABC, Once Upon A Time returned from hiatus to a  series low 2.2 rating from its last original's season-low 2.4 adults 18-49 rating. Revenge earned a 1.4, also hitting a series low, down three tenths from its last original's 1.7 adults 18-49 rating. Revenge for Real premiered to a dismal 0.8 adults 18-49 rating. Earlier in the night, America's Funniest Home Videos earned a 1.8 adults 18-49 rating, up half a ratings point from its last original's 1.3 adults 18-49 rating

Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    @Melissa

    The fact that DH had huge numbers almost a decade ago is irrelevant to its ratings last year (which were pretty much on par with Revenge’s ratings this year).

    I disagree. Had Desperate Housewives began in 2004 with Revenge’s season 1 ratings, and following the same trend, Desperate Housewives wouldn’t have made it to season 8 to begin with. So the fact that Desperate Housewives started with stellar numbers is very much relevant to its season 8 ratings.

    Great job ABC, taking a break last Sunday when nothing special was on, and returning this week for The Grammy’s. Smart.

  • TomZ

    You all say that revenge had the walking dead and the grammys to compete with but so did family guy and american dad but they didn’t drop that much XD great night for fox! :-)

    I love Revenge, and while it’s true that the first part of S2 was a mess, it has really gotten good in the second half. While I try not to make excuses either, I really do think putting this show up against a string of big events has really hurt it. I’m not sure it ever really found a home on Sunday night and might have been better to keep it on Wednesday. I just hope it starts climbing up again so Max can scuttle back into that hole of his (aka his mother’s basement) and focus on his obsession with Scandal instead of trying to tear down Revenge.

  • Ricky

    Poor, poor OUAT. ABC has no business airing really good episodes of that show against the Grammys. I just hope next week’s episode bounces back, especially since it seems a massive reveal is inbound…and that ABC soon gives it the third season it rightly deserves. Preferably without Revenge alongside it. As much as I hate to agree with Max, he’s right to point out one thing: Revenge and OUAT are not compatible. How ABC could ever have lumped OUAT as a “guilty pleasure” along with its other Sunday shows from this fall is beyond me.

  • s0303

    kind of sad how easily max can upset so many people…

    still good for the grammy’s…i hate award shows though…i watched downton abbey.

  • Shepherd

    @Rob60990

    “A while? Only 2 episodes, while Scandal has had 4 episodes below a 2 against nothing.”

    I said nothing about Scandal, so I’m not sure why you did. And yes, I’d call two episodes a while, as opposed to it just falling below 2.0; especially since that 2.0 was almost a month ago.

  • Once & Again

    I don’t know if it’s ABC or bad luck but a lot of ABC shows are way down. Start from Modern Family a great season and great episodes in a roll and getting lower in ratings every episode.

    Nashville, Revenge, Once Upon a Time all great show and still have low ratings.

    Scandal is a surprise, Grey’s Anatomy is OK.

    The rest is just here and there, and quite frankly everywhere.

  • Whatever

    The main reason the OUAT and Revenge are down, is because the quality is down on both shows. Yes, I am talking about both.

    Revenge was a great show its 1st season and a great mid-week escape. They should have left it where it was at to grow. Same mistake made this season with 2 Broke Girls. However, the writing was horrible the 1st half of the season. Get rid of Aiden. Have more Nolan and Emily together, they are a great duo. I think it might pick up steam here the 2nd half of the season, but the damage is done.

    As for OUAT. It started off great this season, but is deminishing in quality and fans are noticing. Get rid of Belle and other useless s/l. I think the only reason they promote Emilie De Ravin, is because she probably didn’t want to be a guest star anymore. Regina and Mr.Gold make the show. Without them the show would not be good. Snow has become so syrupy sweet, that it is boring to watch her anymore. I use the like like Ginnifer Goodwin prior to OUAT, I am finding to like her less and Jennifer Morrison is not very good either. Just need to trim the fat on that show. Do we really need a Frankenstein s/l or some of the other pointless s/l’s?

  • Skylar James

    I meant 2 weeks ago they aired repeats. Obviously last week was Super Bowl, so understandable.

  • Petar Ivanov

    FACTS are that crime/action procedurals are BEAST when compare to serialized shows. Espessaly dark one. And they are hold well for longer time and don;t depent on one episode. Until new serialized shows collapse on its 2nd or 3rd season more often these days. Again revolution and the following are serialized true but they are a lot like cable shows with dark, blood, action etc. Only aging Greys is good enough. But in the end of the season Greys will be down about 0.8 or 1 full point than last year until most of aging CBS procedurals are down only 0.3-0.5 POI even UP from last year. You can see the trand and the difference.

    I think next season with one more NCIS spinn off domination on crime procedurals will be so clear that everybody will accept it.

  • Petar Ivanov

    @ABC – well deserve your 3rd place.

    abc is worst and last network this season. ANd by the way last season two.

  • Petar Ivanov

    TOO not two sorry

  • ars041

    @ shepherd
    we must not be looking at the same site then because I looked it up and if it wasn’t 2.2 if was at least 2.0

  • Ram510

    @Leondre

    Even if AFV beat Desperate Housewive last year on Frammy night (which I would love to see those numbers) DH didn’t dipped it low to a 1.4 not even LAST season (im not talking about 8 years ago). DH could at least hold its own against huge competition like the Grammys and football. I just think ABC should’ve got one more year out of it. In hindsight it would’ve been a better move. And let Revenge establish itself one more year on Wednesday then make the switch, but too late, now they got this mess to put up with

  • Alex

    OUAT I’m not worried about. People can condemn excuses all they want, the reality is ABC will realize the show took a hit from the Grammys (probably likewise Revenge) and move on. If OUAT is still showing “series lows” next week then it might be time to be concerned, and even then they will preempt it the following week for the Oscars so you can’t really honestly identify a trend based on two broadcasts (unless you’re Do No Harm, of course!).

  • BH

    Revenge needs to get rid of the Initiative, Aiden and Porter Brother’s story lines! Seriously the porter brother are such bore and have such boring story line. All they can do is whine about everything .Before I stopped watching this show, I used to forward all their scenes.

    The writers get rid of them and I’ll be back on watching the show again!

  • Petar Ivanov

    Is that final grammys number 10.1? I was expecting more.

  • Jamie

    Max must be the user here that generates the most comments, since apparently everyone just can’t ignore him. It makes much more sense to constantly complain about him and give him exactly what he wants, apparently. Geez. I’m hoping that Once picks up a little bit but honestly the show has been boring lately so that probably has a lot to do with its ratings, too.
