   It’s amazing just how young TWD skews. TBBT needs 20 million viewers to get the same demo rating.

   Look at those Marathon Walking Dead ratings. The repeats doing better than all other AMC originals.

   It seems to me that there’s a huge divide between people who watch just the broadcast networks (despite having access to cable) and people watching anything and everything no matter what channel it’s on. Take the Walking Dead for example, vs the original episodes of shows aired on ABC on Sunday night. Walking Dead went up against the ratings juggernaut, the Grammys, and it wasn’t affected one bit. That’s because people who wanted to watch TWD, watched it. The shows on broadcast TV (ABC specifically), WERE affected by the Grammys. Those people who normally watch broadcast shows were more inclined to watch the Grammys than their regular shows, so the ratings for those shows suffered.

   That’s because The Walking Dead is considered appointment tv while broadcast tv is just comfort food, to watch when there is nothing better to do. Broadcast tv, and cable channels like TNT and to some extent USA, is so vanilla that it doesn’t entice curiosity. It’s just there.

   I personally still think that TWD is crap, but I get why it has so much grip on people. Especially young people.

    TWD is a beast. The Grammy’s had no effect on it at all. I know the broadcast networks wish they didn’t have to answer to the FCC so much & the PTC. TWD took over the entire night!!!!

    I know cable networks are kicking themself saying damn we need to do a knockoff version of this show.

    Take a note SyFy ya need to make shows like this and people will watch.
    Hopefully people will stop saying Reality Shows are taking over.

    Grammy’s killed the RHOA, Shahs and every other reality show.

    Could you please provide numbers for Power Rangers Megaforce on Nickelodeon Saturday at 1:00 p.m.? Episodes will be new until at least March 2 so please put them in your weekly updates. Also, starting next week, Winx Club will be new on February 17, Sunday at 1:00 p.m., so please include that in your next weekly report too.

    Also, last week there were additional requests for Nickelodeon ratings info after you had posted, but we had to get them from SonoftheBronx instead. Could you please get into the habit of checking for additional requests the next day?

    Meanie: We can’t say the Grammys had no effect on TWD. Maybe TWD would have hit even higher numbers if the Grammys weren’t on. There’s zero evidence for that absent some poll of the Nielsen families. All we can say is that TWD did very well against a special event. How much better it could have done with no special event is an unknown.

    As for reality shows, of course a special event like the Grammys affects them, too.

    Wow the mid season finale repeat at 8 killed the new episode of Revenge too.

    I don’t blame viewers from abandoning Revenge..take this from someone who actually watches the show. I read through the comments and expected the episode this week to be better..it definitely wasn’t. The scene when Aiden showed up on the hill overlooking the wedding was more groan inducing than Andreas speech on TWD. When Victoria shot the woman of the initiative was also pulled off just as cheesy. Wait for the long stall, and one of the least convincing deaths you’ll ever see. Revenge definitely did not return to form last night or maybe I’m just over it.

    This is why people like the Walking Dead, it might have its bad moments but nothing as bad as that. I would almost bet I know the person who will die next week because so far the show has no surprises. I have no idea where The Walking Dead is going to go from here and know theres a lot in store judging by the previews.

    The Walking Dead is up for cancellation
