Drone operators to be awarded new Distinguished Warfare Medal that will rank higher than Bronze Star (but they won’t have to leave their computer screen to win it)
Unlike other combat medals, it does not require the recipient risk his or her life to get it and they may never set foot in the combat zone.
I agree with a poster who typed :
” To give drone operators a meritorious award above the bronze star is ludicrous. The only bravery they show is against traffic on their way home after their shift.”

Rats,
I read the story “Missouri Democrats Introduce Legislation to Confiscate Firearms – Gives Gun Owners 90 Days to Turn in Weapons”
We’ll see how it plays out.
Keep them lies comin Harry!!!!
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid announced Thursday that Republicans have told him that they plan to block Chuck Hagel’s nomination to be the next secretary of Defense over demands for more information from the White House.
Senior Democratic aides said that Hagel’s nomination does not have 60 votes at this time to overcome Republican objections before a key Friday procedural vote, leaving the nomination in limbo ahead of next week’s Senate recess.
Complicating the situation still further was Reid’s announcement that the current holder of the job, Leon Panetta, would clock out later today.
“We do not have, at 12 o’clock today, a secretary of Defense,” Reid said. “It’s tragic they’ve decided to filibuster this qualified nominee — it is really unfortunate.”
Reid’s hope is that the escalating pressure and warnings over national security will force Republicans to bend on Hagel’s nomination — particularly since a few key GOP senators are holding out on an issue unrelated to the nominee’s qualifications: The president’s handling of last September’s deadly attacks in Benghazi.
At 11:41 a.m., Washington Times reporter Stephen Dinan noted, however, that:
Foreign Policy magazine reported that the Pentagon said Mr. Panetta will remain on the job until a new secretary is confirmed, undercutting Mr. Reid’s push for action.
A call to the Pentagon’s press office by NewsBusters cleared up the matter, with a Panetta aide who asked to speak on background insisting that Panetta would not officially vacate his post until not only an affirmative confirmation vote but when said successor is actually administered the oath of office.
It remains to be seen if Politico will explore whether Reid innocently peddled faulty information or whether he outright lied on the Senate floor
Oil prices?
Talk of “currency wars” has been increasing because the euro currency is gaining strength against other currencies. On Monday, the value of a euro rose to $1.34, when it was close to $1.20 not too many months ago.
PJrofessorusa, Jeff
This will happen here.
Inflation anybody?
Hugo Chávez devalues Venezuela’s bolivar currency by 32%
Venezuela’s President Hugo Chávez, who is recovering from cancer surgery in Havana, ordered his government to weaken the exchange rate for the bolivar currency to 6.3 bolivars per dollar from 4.3 bolivars per dollar. This is the fifth devaluation in nine years, and it follows a spending spree last year that helped Chávez win reelection, but also tripled the fiscal deficit and increased inflation.
Rats,

This will never happen. Missouri is the land of guns. Just like the south.
Jeff and Professor usa call us uneducated rednecks.
@Jeff, read your own post. You are always on the attack. It doesn’t surprise me that you don’t remember.
The proof is in the posts.
I can’t remember of Hillbilly is left or right or some of the others. But here is a list of people I haven’t seen attack or very rarely attack.

@Doug Z., I fell into the liberals trap. I let them turn a conversation about the American people not hanging on every word Obama speaks into a G.W. Bush approval rating debate. But here is a funny detail I found. G.W.
CBS and other liberal polls kept polling people on G.W. Bush’s job approval for eighteen months after he left office. This was not done for other presidents.
I’m not talking about polls that rank all presidents which do happen from time to time.
Ratboy, Maybe we can bring Sewing back as a GREEN class. Sewing a button on is better for the environment then buying a new shirt.
Oh but wait, that makes sewing bad for the economy.
@Cathy
Agree with your comments on Detroit 100%
@Mickey O
I’m not sure we’ll ever see gas under 3 again nationwide.
@Ratboy
This should go over like a fart in church!!!!!
Why do you think theyv are called “pews”
Could this be the issue which swings the mood back to conservatism? At times Liberals have a time wave then something happens and the country switches back to conservatism until something changes that.
*Missouri Democrats Introduce Legislation to Confiscate Firearms – Gives Gun Owners 90 Days to Turn in Weapons
@Redbarsoup, ratings is plural is in not? All of his ratings were not low. Bush also had some of the highest. Your statement is NO true. Plus there is the word “ALL” Hoover had higher numbers?
Mark2 gave me a one week number from a liberal site.
But go ahead and pretend you meant only one week of numbers.
lol @cathy playing semantics. Who would have expected THAT!? Oh wait, everyone did.
DD, the U.S. supreme court has already said that it is OK for a city to restrict guns and collect them. I believe they would say that states can be it to. But then they over turned the Chicago law.
The U.S. supreme court has ruled that the federal government can’t collect gun for citizens.
Personally, I think states should be allowed to limit guns. I’d like to see more control for everything at the state level. Get the laws out of the hands of the feds and give it back to the states. We would be a happier country if we truly had red states and blue states. The liberals can live the way they want to in their states and the conservatives can live the way they wanted to in their states. That’s the way the foundering fathers saw it. Look at the constitution and see how limited federal laws were.
I hope they get this one under control quick

Remember me saying the market was dealing in some very strange trades? And some companies were advising thier clients sell off and then buying the stocks themselves?
*REPORT: GOLDMAN SACHS advises clients to sell stock — then buys it…
I am glad I got out of that insanity
Wow, I thought words had meanings. Oh wait, you are playing Obama’s game. You make a statement that could have multiple meanings and when questioned you pick the meaning someone else has proven for you.
Yep, its me playing semantics.
Sorry, Obama’s SOTU speeches aren’t pulling the numbers to support Obama lovers statement that Obama voters are more informed then any other voters. His numbers don’t support liberal statement that most Obama voters care more about what the federal government is doing then other voters.
Obama’s SOTU ratings show that most Americans (most Obama voters) don’t care to hear what Obama is saying. It proves that Obama voters are less informed and his job approval ratings are nothing more then a popularity vote.
Obama’s numbers aren’t supporting the facts that you want them to, so you turn to the old “but Bush’s job approval ratings were lower”.
Aren’t you sick of bring up Bush’s name every time things aren’t painting Obama in a good light?

Yea go ahead an rub it in!! I gotta stay in if I want to make anything at all! I have everything just about done now breaking it up into little chuncks. But I still have to have it working for me and my kids and grandkids!
@ Cathy
What I wish, is that the loons on the left would accept the huge compliment from the right that Obama’s campaign STRATAGY not content was BRILLIANT!! They got more voters out in the important places and won by a small popular margin but won even with a dismal record. GREAT JOB!!!! YEAAAAAAA!!!!!
Now after accepting that, ADMIT that most Americans are fed up with the spending, fed up with no jobs, fed up with the BS and dont give a hoot about what he says or when he says it! ADMIT they are fed up with congress and feel that maybe just a little leadership from Obama might change things!
But they wont. They will continue to profess that he won HUGE and his policies are loved by all!
@Ratboy
Check into some long term CD’s Rats, if you deal with a bank at times you can get higher return rates too. I have some for the kids and grandkids when I turn to dust
Coffee,
I hope they get that SARS under control. I’ll be praying on that.
I’m getting ready to pull out of the market. Trying to catch it at a high. Everyone thinks it’s going to go up for another 6 months. I keep hearing that it will make it to 15000 dow before it falls apart.
The wheels on the bus are going to come off sooner or later.
Home foreclosure are down this month. I liked the news until I heard that it’s only down because the federal government has slowed it down by not allowing banks to foreclosure.
Obama’s talking about lowing mortgage requirements, is this true? Are our memories so short that we don’t remember what happened last time we lowered mortgage requirements?
