Check into some long term CD’s Rats, if you deal with a bank at times you can get higher return rates too. I have some for the kids and grandkids when I turn to dus
Do not buy long term Bonds. Interest rate will go up sometime soon.
This will happen here.
The devaluation, which was announced on Friday and is effective on Wednesday, is already having dramatic effects. Venezuelans experienced panic buying of televisions and airline tickets over the weekend, and also stocked up on groceries for fear that inflation-based food price increases.

@Cathy
The U.S. supreme court has ruled that the federal government can’t collect gun for citizens.
I followed the Chicago case of the homeower who brought the suit against Chicago’s gun control that resulted in the right to possess firearms for self-defense. Key words are self defense . There is still alot of gray in the aftermath.
Even Obama appointee , Sonia Sotomayor, calls Heller settled law with the DC case. Heller allows guns for self defense, too, but there are certain restrictions to gun ownership.
Nothing is really going to change in Missouri. Thankfully Republicans hold a super majority in their state legislature. The bill has only been introduced and read twice; it’s a go-nowhere bill .

EPA caught sabotaging fracking
A federal watchdog is investigating Environmental Protection Agency enforcement actions against a Texas natural gas company that the agency claimed contaminated drinking water through its drilling activities in the state.
The problem?
The EPA’s internal emails show that even the agency’s own experts doubted the science behind the allegations.
One EPA employee in a court-ordered deposition has admitted the EPA war aware that groundwater in the area contained methane prior to Range’s drilling but chose to hit the delete button when it released its official records used to justify actions against the company.
Just a couple of fibs from the Prez the other night. By the way, Note in the last one…………………….It’s Bush’s fault!!!!!! But in this casefault means Bush should get the credit!
Fuel economy
Obama said the country’s progress toward energy independence can be measured in miles per gallon.
“Today, no area holds more promise than our investments in American energy. After years of talking about it, we’re finally poised to control our own energy future,” he said, adding, “We have doubled the distance our cars will go on a gallon of gas and the amount of renewable energy we generate from sources like wind and solar, with tens of thousands of good, American jobs to show for it.”
We looked at whether we’ve “doubled the distance our cars will go on a gallon of gas” and found that’s not the case. Federal rules say that cars will reach 54.5 mpg benchmark — but that’s not until 2025. We rated Obama’s statement False.
Keeping Congress ‘fully informed’
After being criticized for using drones to kill suspected terrorists, including American citizens, Obama said he has been transparent with Congress about his administration’s policy.
Obama said his administration “has worked tirelessly to forge a durable legal and policy framework to guide our counterterrorism efforts. Throughout, we have kept Congress fully informed of our efforts.”
We found complaints from both Republican and Democratic senators that the administration has fallen significantly short when it comes to keeping Congress informed. In fact, requests for additional information have been pending for much of the president’s tenure in office. We rated Obama’s statement False.
Border security
Obama also touted his administration’s record on curbing illegal immigration.
“We can build on the progress my administration has already made – putting more boots on the southern border than at any time in our history and reducing illegal crossings to their lowest levels in 40 years,” Obama said.
Obama is right about the numbers, but it’s a stretch for him to suggest that his administration is the primary reason. The growth in agents began under President George W. Bush. And economic conditions in both the United States and Mexico tend to influence the number of crossings, as does crime. On balance, we rate Obama’s claim Half True.
Ohhh……………Megyn Kelly’s going to have another baby .

Poll: Only 26% support Geraldo bid
According to a new poll from Monmouth University, only 26 percent of New Jersey voters say there are “very” or “somewhat” likely to vote for Rivera should he choose to run. Nearly two-thirds, or 65 percent, said they would not be likely to vote for Rivera; including a 51-percent majority who say they would not consider voting for him at all.

Another interesting tidbit. The D’s and the R’s are no suprise but………….I hope the loons pay attention to the third group, but they wont!
Eighty-nine percent (89%) of Democrats like the job the president is doing; 81% of Republicans don’t. Among voters not affiliated with either party, 46% approve, and 53% disapprove.
gas is up to 3.79 a gallon.

You just wish you be the daddy!!!
@1966 – we live in Northern Colorado…outside of Fort Collins and our gas yesterday was $3.89 a gallon.
Why is gas going up again?
Because Obama and his minion want energy prices to “necessarily skyrocket.”
Gas is going up bacause refineries are being closed to force prices upward. There is NO reason gas prices should go up. Nothing has changed in the past months…It’s simply a ploy…

I trade frequently in my IRA account and do fairly well. If you do not require immediate income from your investments you should buy large cap dividend paying stocks and have the dividends reinvested. I have been doing this since I retired from the NYSE 3 years ago and have averaged a 30% overall return. Unfortunately you usually need to spend a lot of time doing your research but if you have the time it is certainly worth it. Additionally, I enjoy doing this.
Rat–the fact is that most Americans prefer Obama’s poliicies to those of the right wing GOP, which is slowly fading into oblivion…

According to the polls that I have seen the US is going in the wrong direction and this is bad for the country and the economy. On the other hand the polls show that people like President Obama.

Again you do not do your research. I value of the $ and the price of oil. When you print $85 Billion a mouth.
CARACAS, Venezuela — Venezuela’s currency devaluation took effect on Wednesday amid questions about how the government can get a grip on 22-per cent inflation and satisfy growing demand for dollars to pay for imported goods.

“That’s the most I have seen Nancy Grace get since the Casey Anthony trial.” Nancy Grace used to have this as an average audience, however, since around march 2012 the program has been hitting record lows for whatever reason. “Nancy Grace” is rebounding a bit mainly due to jodi arias but ist’s still not where it used to be. hopefully the show will rise in the ratings again.
