    I’d rather watch paint dry…

    I guess i am in the Majority, I didn’t watch either-have better things to do with my time besides,from reading what was said, its more of the same as the country goes down the tube!

    I was watching POI on my DVR. :)

    The historical data is kinda cool. 9/11, Iraq, and the 2008 election helped spike viewers. I don’t blame people for not tuning in. They spent a year on both sides campaigning. American is kinda tired of politics right now. Like the idiots who make Tvbythenumbers political

    All I see is Obama’s numbers go is: Down, down, down, down, down…

    The best comedy of the night was when Senator Marco Rubio drank water during the GOP Response!

  • Joseph

    Did any Los Angeles or California TV stations stick with the standoff at Big Bear Lake instead of carry the speech??

  • Ben

    To quote Joseph: Senator Marco Rubio drinking water during the Republican reponse has turned into an online comedy video and will probably be featured on the next original episode of Saturday Night Live. Put aside the politican party of the Senator: it was funny.

    I find it funny that the left were all over Marco Rubio because, oh my god, he needed a sip of water….but none of them said a word when on inaugural day, Obama’s chewing nicorette gum all day, that resembled a cow chewing cudd, not a word….I thought it was worse for Obama to go smack, smack, smack all day than someone needing a sip of water….besides, why is Obama chewing nicorette gum? I thought he said he quit smoking YEARS ago….

    as far as I’m aware, all the stations switched over to the speech…but then again, NBC interrupted their regular line up in the afternoon of the next day…to show a burned out hole…for hours…can you imagine interrrupting Ellen just to show a burned out hole, and repeat the same crap they already knew the night before…lol

    @Derrick: Produce your factual evidence showing 45% of the population are liberals. That’s a big number to throw around without naming your source.

  • Ralph Hahn

    @Ben: Again a double-standard for Democrats. Put a stationary camera in front of Obama and keep it on him with no cutaways for audience reaction or to point out Cabinet members and the Supreme Court, and I’ll bet you’ll see Obama go for the water before Rubio did. Rubio is considered a major force in the next election, and being Hispanic, the Republicans stand to gain quite a bit if Rubio is nominated by the GOP. BTW, according to the 2010 Census, there are more Hispanics in the U.S. than African-Americans.

    @Derrick
    you’re high. the percentage of libreals is closer to 20%…with more Americans claiming to be either conservative (35-40%) or moderate (35%). i’m sure you’ll be quick to point out those number don’t add up to 100%…but that’s because some identify as something other than 1 of those 3 categories.

    I watched at the end to see Biden and Boehner’s funny faces. But I am not masochistic enough to watch the whole thing. It’s a rerun of every speech Obama ever gives anyway. No wonder the ratings are down.

    Definitely, the Westminster kennel club show was better!
