CBS TV distribution announced today that The Jeff Probst Show will not be returning after its current freshman season ends. In a statement, Probst said "I’m super bummed but extremely proud. The truth is all shows come to an end.  Ours just ended a decade sooner than we had hoped"

The tribe has spoken.

Good. Too many talk shows on the market.

Looks like Probst will be spending alot more time with Survivor.

  • Leoben Conoy

    Sorry Jeff!

That sucks to hear. Your talk show deserved success.

Hope you have many more seasons with Survivor though!

  • Shepherd

    “The tribe has spoken.”

I wouldn’t have even known who he was without this statement. Classic!

  • Carl

I was hoping this would be a hit so he’d leave Survivor and they’d get another host.

  • JulieDawn

I’m actually disappointed. Don’t watch too many daytime talk shows being at work all day, but when I was home I watched this one and enjoyed it, and would sometimes PVR it.

Found it much less contrived than most of the others out there.

    omg

  • Don

Carl , you are an idiot, survivor would suffer without Jeff!

  • Irony

Wow, hope Survivor does good tonight. Probst for life!

  • David

    Most boring show ever.

  • @JoeyDavid

I’ve never seen it on the channel line up. But like someone else said too many talk shows, seems like everyone has one.

  • The Cool Max

It was a great talk show, until he made co hosts. Sad. He was a great interviewer.

  • TV Gord

Out goes Jeff Probst, Ricki Lake, Anderson Cooper.
In comes Kris Jenner, Queen Latifah, Betheny Frankel.

    And so it goes…

  • Neil

I’d rather watch a talk show with Frankel the Horse.

  • Bjm

It was a decent talk show, pretty run of the mill, but not bad.

  • iggy

Bring back the schlock shows, in the vein of Morton Downey Jr. and Joe Pyne.

  • John K.

His show was actually not bad. Not looking forward to next year’s lineup with the likes of Bethany Frankel and Kris Jenner. Ugh.

  • Robert

    We need more soaps.

  • Bob

Every talk show that gets cancelled is a better outlook for Soaps which is good. We certainly don’t need 100 talk shows for goodness sakes. I do like Jeff and so glad that he has Survivor to continue. He is awesome. I never did catch his talk show though because of working.

  • Mike

The talk show was good, but nothing spectacular.

So much for the head of the production company bragging about how much they spent on the show in comparison to ABC syndication on Katie. They should have invested more to make the show more interesting and better guests.

As far as being good for soaps….considering that there is all kind of talk of the networks and syndication making more and more talk and variety shows I don’t know where you get that.

Even with 2 soaps coming back to the Internet and to Hulu….I have yet to see any cable or network running to get them on their stations. And how many of them do you even hear are interested in making more daytime soaps.

This show had been buried by the CBS o&o in Chicago several wks back. replaced by Judge Judy repeats. The handwriting was on the wall. Not looking forward to the new talkers in the fall.
