There were no adjustments to original non-repeat programming among adults 18-49 versus the preliminary Tuesday broadcast ratings. Note: the final ratings for the State of the Union Address have been sustained by Nielsen as it ran without commercials. Combined ratings for the State of the Union Address (which include broadcast airings) are here.

Not surprised The Taste dropped being paired with the pointless SOTUA. Networks must be pissed they had to air this mess in sweeps.
I think ABC has secretly pulled Happy Endings from schedule. On the ABCMediaNet site, they have To Be Announced in the Tuesdays at 9 section.
I never knew A. Bourdain was a host on The Taste; no wonder it’s doing terribly.
So what abc will air until DWTS premiere in tuesdays at 9…….
What does the article mean by ‘the ratings for the SOTU have been sustained’, is there another meaning for the word sustained that I’m not privy to?
“What does the article mean by ‘the ratings for the SOTU have been sustained’, is there another meaning for the word sustained that I’m not privy to?”
Sustained means exactly what it says in red, “it ran without commercials” and so was unrated.
Edit: Good time for a teaching moment. The reason for TV ratings is to know how many people watched the ads. Everything else is just fluff (or gravy, depending on what side of the PR divide you’re on).
Nielsen may come out with a combined viewership report over all broadcast and cable, and we will post it if they do.Edit 2: Here are the combined SOTU numbers from Nielsen http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2013/02/13/nearly-33-5-million-tune-in-to-watch-president-obamas-state-of-the-union-address/169423/
@rob60990
I’d love to disagree, but it is increasingly looking that way.
The only positive is that the lack of announcement suggests that ABC doesn’t want to be seen to have canceled it. Perhaps they’re quietly shopping it to cable networks.
@ Conor
I’m assuming Nielsen isn’t counting the ratings as official in terms of what it means to advertisers and the networks since no commercials aired during the SOTU.

Per Google: “Cause to continue or be prolonged for an extended period or without interruption.”
It’s the term Nielsen uses for programming that does not have national commercials. The time is not counted in any of the network averages.
So what happened to ABC at 10:30?
And who won of the Big 5 last night since the SOTU ratings don’t count in the finals?
@Conor
I think the confusion may come from the phrase “sustained by Neilsen” since they didn’t do or cause anything to happen save for the ratings to be classified as sustained.
Univision won.
NCIS: LA!!
According to my guide, The Bachelor is airing before Body of Proof on Tuesday. I agree I think the only way Happy Endings will get on air before June is if one of their new dramas pulls a Do No Harm (aka Who’s new drama Red Widow.)
ABC’s new drama Red Widow I meant.
Raising Hope repeats better than New Girl? This is a surprise.
@1313 SVU Lane
I think they’re only airing The Bachelor next week to give the Body of Proof premiere a decent lead in. They can’t air two episodes of The Bachelor every week, so Happy Endings will presumably return eventually. I think Modern Family repeats will take Don’t Trust The B—-’s slot.
Wow, boring night.
SOTU would be canceled in a few weeks if it were a weekly show. Wish the government could be cancelled.
I like the taste but wish they presented the small dish at the same time they did the spoons so that the Mentors / Judges could have a better idea of what they were eating.
Heh, SOTU got more viewers and a better rating than SOTU
