How Will 'Zero Hour' Premiere Tonight? (Poll)

We've asked about the fate of Zero Hour before, and commenters have pretty much labeled it as dead on arrival, thanks to the curse of the ABC death slot. However, since the show is actually premiering tonight, let's guess the ratings! Make your predictions below, and tell us how long you think the show will last in the comments!

I’m not big on the death slot theory, but this show will bomb. I’ll go with 1.3

I’d be surprised if it gets higher than a 1.2. Zero Hour, like Do No Harm and other dramas, really seems to fail the “movie vs. tv show” test I do on pilots. That is, does the premise sound like something that can be told well in 2 or 3 hours, or does the premise or characters sound like they deserve a 100 hours to tell their story?

Do No Harm was an obvious movie-only premise (how long could a Jekyll/Hyde story line really keep our interesting?). Even Awake last year had much the same trouble, although its real fault was the somewhat predictable story arc.

Zero Hour, like FlashForward, *sounds* like a premise that has staying power, but in actuality probably is only worth telling at movie-length. I really can’t imagine that they developed the characters well enough to keep us interested in anything but the vaguely-defined conspiracy. And vagueness is not an excuse for dragging things out by the writers, it’s an excuse for the audience to tune it out.

It’s a no brainer, this show is going to die a quick and painful death.

Still have no idea why ABC would premiere a show in this time slot with TBBT and AI going h2h. It’s leading the lamb to the slaughter. Poor Dr. Greene or Goose….1.6

You expect them to air a test pattern instead?

0.8 to 1.2 (Zero chance of making it)

This show will flop hard. Abc shouldn’t have even bothered.

    Week 1: 2.0 week 2: 1.5

  • rob60990

    1.6 and I think I’m being generous.

“No matter how low it scores, the boards will feature at least one or two fans saying “Why is nobody watching this show? It’s excellent. ABC blew it!” a la Do No Harm.”

Don’t forget that it was also online for over a week. ;)

2.6…I think this show will surprise some people…also I don’t think there is really a such thing as a ‘death slot’, otherwise it wouldn’t just affect one network. Furthermore, I doubt it’s the kind of show that would really share an audience with Ai or the CBS commidies

I believe the death slot does not actually equal DOA, if I recall well, only My Generation and one of The Forgotten or The Deep End were DOA in recent years, all the rest premiered with acceptable ratings.

I know ABC can perform in this timeslot. I’m saying it could get 2.0-2.2 in its premiere tonight. It’s good counter-programming to the comedies, AI & TVD so maybe it won’t get embarrassing numbers like Do No Harm got on NBC.

  • Ateofi

Going against American Idol and TBBT, it’s going to flop hard. I say 1.5 demo.

  • Bob

You guys are being WAY too optimistic about this show. It won’t get a 1.0. It will be lucky to get a .08. Seriously Do No Harm got a .09 with zero real competition. I think this is going to be the disaster of the year.

  • iggy

    0.8 seems plausible somehow!

  • Ultima

ABC is going to repeat the Zero Hour pilot on Sunday at 10pm.

  • Kyle

Probably something between 1.3-1.6. Let’s not forget that last year Missing premiered well with a 2.0.

I don’t think it will rate well opposite AI, TBBT. If it were only opposite NBC programs, it would probaly rate OK.

This is just another ABC show that probable should be a miniseries or short term series. It will be like The River interesting but cancelled with no resolution.
