How Will 'Zero Hour' Premiere Tonight? (Poll)

We've asked about the fate of Zero Hour before, and commenters have pretty much labeled it as dead on arrival, thanks to the curse of the ABC death slot. However, since the show is actually premiering tonight, let's guess the ratings! Make your predictions below, and tell us how long you think the show will last in the comments!

  • Brian

Oh and Community drops to a 1.7 tonight. A bit of a drop, but I think it can hold around a 1.5 or 1.6 the rest of the way.

  • Chuck Finley (AJ)

Already on iTunes and leaked onto the internet for download. I won’t try to start the argument about whether or not that affects Nielsen viewers. Up against TBBT, Idol, and even Community I would say this is DOA.

  • Spencer

I watched it on Hulu….it wasn’t too good. Stale acting, poor writing. It COULD have been great…but it was just ‘meh’.

  • Jason50

This show is already in the bear cage before it even premires.

  • Mark3

This show is awsome!! Such a mystery

  • Melissa

    Zero Hour: 2.0
    Grey’s Anatomy: 3.0
    Scandal: 2.7

I really liked Missing and Last Resort and I liked Zero Hour, too after viewing it online. The pilot has high production values and it represents something different from most of the pablum on television. It wouldn’t matter whether Lost were premiering tonight in that time slot–that too would die a quick death. Yes, of course Zero Hour will not live to see another season and probably not even the remainder of this shortened season. Quality original dramas that require the slightest bit of thought usually die a quick death on network television. The “boob-tube” handle has never been more apt. Honestly, one would think that Big Bang Theory is the funniest, most original sitcom ever on television based on its ratings. Not an awful show but its man-boy geeks with out-of-control hormones who are socially awkward is not an original concept. The show has become stale to some of us who watched it since it first debuted.

I saw it and it was good. I would definitely watch it again!

The scheduling is doom. Then there is the matter of i already got it from iTunes a week ago. Why would i watch it again WITH COMMERCIALS when i can just click ‘play’ and enjoy it WITHOUT commercials. As for episode 2, that i might just tune in to the actual broadcast of.

I love the early releases but every time they do that they shoot themselves in the foot regarding the ratings for the broadcast a week or two later.

I call this as below the scope of the poll – much less than 0.7 because for some reason many people still watch the karaoke shows.

One infamous poster won’t be able to write “Zero Hour means zero ratings” tomorrow.

Paul Lee faces his second moment of truth this season. He scheduled Happy Endings and Apt 23 on Tuesdays at 9 pm even though he knew that Fox already had a comedy block that night and NBC was airing Go On and The New Normal after The Voice during the fall season.

Putting Zero Hour against Big Bang Theory, American Idol, and Community is pure stupidity. If ABC wants somewhat decent ratings on Thursdays at 8 pm during February sweeps, they should have put a reality show like Shark Tank or even The Taste at this time slot.

There is a small audience interested in shows about searching for treasures.
The NBC reality show Treasure Hunters premiered with 6.9 million viewers on June 18, 2006 in the wake of The Da Vinci Code movie. NBC did air the movie National Treasure: Book of Secrets during black Friday of 2011. Luckily for Anthony Edwards, this premiere will do better than Do No Harm’s 0.9. Unfortunately for Anthony Edwards, Betty White’s 91st birthday celebration will prove to be more popular.

My prediction is 1.1 rating and 4 million total viewers for the premiere of Zero Hour.

  • Nick

It will get 1.5, while even Community gets 1.6.

I saw it tonight, it caught my attention.

It’s kinda like “Revolution”, but instead of looking for the 12 pendants they are looking for the 12 clocks. I would rather watch “Zero Hour” than the unnecessary carnage and empty plots of “Revolution.”

One thing I don’t like is the men with scruffy faces. Only young and cute men do well in scruffy faces, once a man hits the 40s or is no longer eye-candy he should clean up, in my opinion. That was distracting.

The acting was creaky, specially the young lady who works with the hero.

Looking forward to next episode, hopefully they show a few episodes before they decide to cancel… it’s ABC.

I’ll guess 1.5 but after looking around the interwebs at some reviews my guess is that it will drop hard and fast and not complete it’s order in the assigned timeslot. I’m not saying it hasn’t gotten some good reviews, just that in a quick look around I didn’t find any … the concept sounds interesting but apparently going from concept to show the ball has been dropped, flattened, and tossed into the garbage heap of failure.

  • Arabian

My guess is below a one. Putting this up against BBT and Idol is a suckers bet and everyone except ABC knows it.

  • Brianna

I figure Zero Hour was supposed to be a 10pm show, but Scandal’s back 9 interfered with its timeslot. I hope ABC gives it a chance to grow an audience b/c the show has major potential just like Scandal did last season.

  • networkman

1.4. Not only is it up against stiff competition, people will be out celebrating Valentine’s Day. TV viewership will be down across the board. This is really a bad day to premiere a new show, especially one like this.

Good show. The worst time slot. This should would be a big success, if it was aired on Tuesday. What’s wrong with ABC?

  • KevinY

I liked it. I love Addison Timlin, she might just be able to keep enough male viewers tuned in to keep it afloat. It’s an interesting mystery that has the potential to get much better. My two complaints about the pilot are 1) They moved too fast for one episode (already in Germany and the North Pole!) and 2) Character interaction is lacking, but I’m sure that will improve. If anyone saw Addison Timlin on Californication you know her on screen chemistry can be dynamite.

Personally, I liked it, but I agree with those that the odds are against it. So, I’m just hoping it does well enough to air all 13 episodes and that it will have a coherent end of the season.

If it does survive, I bet it turns into a love it/hate it cult kind of show, because it is very targeted toward those who love Occult thrillers and conspiracy theory stuff.
