    the ratings for survivor & csi just show it. csi has to be following behind another drama in order to have distant ratings, if not it does not do good. It should be moved to either Fridays or Sundays this fall. And survivor needs to be cancelled.

  • Shepherd

    @chris23

    Technically, you can’t average two rounded numbers. Nice try though.

  • Tim

    It was not that CSI got a sitcom as a lead in, the show got a repeat of a sitcom,. A 1.4 as lead in is terrible.
    CSI has been the best rated CBS 10 pm show during all the season. :)

    @Jake
    csi has to be following behind another drama

    Last season was the first time CSI has regularly had a drama for a lead-in since January 2001. I’m pretty sure it doesn’t need to follow another drama.

    That said, given how well the Criminal Minds/CSI pairing has worked, I doubt CBS will move either one of them for next fall.

    “Wait if I talk bad about American Idol! I get a error message! WTF?”

    If that was directed at me, I think you may have misunderstood what I was saying. I happen to be on the same page as you, with regard to Idol’s deathwatch; but given its rate of decline since the 9th season, I think you should be prepared for a slow drag toward its end. My opinion, though, remains, that it looks like it will fall back to 1st-season viewership (less than 13 million for the entire season) in 2015, and that will almost certainly be the time when they decide to pull the plug.

    SP,
    The Voice is NOT the number one singing show. It was getting 3’s all last season. Don’t make up lies.

  • Oliver

    If Hannibal gets the Thursday death slot, what are NBC planning to air on Tuesday when The Voice returns?

  • CookyMonzta

    @Laura: I WILL admit, though, that it would be shocking if they decided to close up shop on Idol after this season or the next.

  • BigBrotherFan

    NBC has no clue what they are doing and I agree with that statment.

    They are going to put Hannibal @ 10pm on Thurs? lol. That will FLOP! FLOPIBAL (I can hear it now..lol).

    Can a SURVIVOR fan please explain to me the appeal of Malcom? He seems like a whiney sore loser kinda guy. agh. SURVIVOR really REALLY needs to get away with this whole stunt casting. Although it’s nice to see them bring back one of the few 20-something year old dudes that isn’t a complete and utter tool (Erik)..They really make guys in my age group look like complete A-HOLES!

    ON STUNT CASTING- I thought they get away from this kinda crap the 9th time they had BOSTON ROB or RUSSEL on. I think they miss that people LIKE NEW VILLIANS not recyled REALITY STAR F-LIST IDIOTS that are looking for maybe 2 more minutes of fame. THIS WAS THE WHOLE REASON I STOPPED WATCHING FOR 3-YEARS.

    Also, there is no stand out ‘babe’ this season. EVERYONE of the girls 20-30 (with the exception of BRENDA) look the same. I thought I saw the same blonde girl like 7 times but it was different contestants! lol They need another fiesty latina babe like Abi for some trouble and ratings.

    Hate on WHITNEY as much as you want there is no denying that the show is pretty consistant for NBC standards. Sure it won’t win a EMMY for best COMEDY but it’s really not that bad. YOU WANT REALLY BAD MAY I DIRECT YOU TO ABC @ 830PM WEDNESDAY?

    OT- but anyone notice that Whitney Cummings is looking REALLY good as of recent? she must be putting that TWO BROKE GIRLS cash to good use! lol

    Smash?

  • rob60990

    Probably leaving it as is, with Go On, New Normal, & Smash. How ridiculous.

  • Oliver

    Wait, does this mean they plan to air Save Me in that slot? Surely not?

    “If Hannibal gets the Thursday death slot”

    The Thursday “death slot” it is for Hannibal.

    Hopefully, The Voice has peaked already. I wish it a much quicker death than Idol is currently experiencing. Big Bang Theory was in ratings decline just prior to syndication so it is hyperbolic to refer to Modern Family as a dying show–it’s DVR ratings keep increasing and ranking it number one (which doesn’t count for advertisers but it does indicate the interest in the show is still very strong). Chicago Fire will most likely be back for one more season but season two will definitely be its last since this genre of show doesn’t have a fiercely loyal fan base and its low 2’s/high 1’s ratings aren’t exactly setting the world on fire–even for basement dwelling NBC.

    Maybe they’re going to move Ready For Love to Tuesday, pull Smash, burn 1600 Penn and The New Normal on Wednesday, try and salvage Go On on Thursday (at 8:30 or 9:30) and go with two hours of Dateline and two hours of Apprentice on Sunday.

    It sure doesn’t seem like it though…

    You know why SVU is down? That a**wipe that runs the show, Warren Leight. He brought rapist Mike Tyson on the show and it killed the ratings (demo) in this show, it’s going to be a while before SVU recovers (in the demo), if it ever does. Warren Leight ignored and dissed SO MANY people on Twitter, Dick Wolf standing behind him and Tyson on the show didn’t help. I see SVU moving to Fridays at 10PM in 2013-14, possibly in it’s final season as well, if it’s renewed. I think SVU would have a chance if Warren Leight stepped down; SVU needs new eyes (again) behind the scenes. Neal Baer got worse over a matter of 4-5 seasons (seasons 8-12), it took Warren Leight only one, season 14 in this person’s opinion is the WORST of SVU and worst of the show under his direction.

    As for Chicago Fire, SVU is dragging it down with it. Chicago Fire was blazing until the Tyson SVU ep. aired. It’s still doing OK, but I don’t like the numbers for the slot it’s in. CSI is weak without Criminal Minds, and Nashville was never really a big hit (as ABC touted it to be). There is no excuse (or Fan Excuse Bingo) for Chicago Fire to be this low.

    If this continues, both SVU and Chicago Fire will be back on TVBTN’s toss up for renewal or cancel. Dick Wolf and NBC needs to step in and boot Mr. Leight off of SVU TODAY before some permanent ratings damage is done (and I fear it has).

    The big story of last night is that Criminal Minds has proven itself to be the MVP of Wednesday nights. Whenever it is preempted, CBS’ numbers tank for the night. To me, that’s even more of a reason for CBS to schedule a better lead-off show at 8:00, and that show needs to be a drama to counterprogram against reality and comedies on the other nets. Shows like NCIS LA, PoI, and even a new show like Intelligence would be perfect here. They should generate the same or better demos than Survivor has generated recently as well as deliver 2-3 million more viewers to CM.

    As for Survivor, it has been a savior for CBS. First, it made them competitive on Thursday, and then, it stabilized an underperforming timeslot on Wednesday. Now, CBS needs to see if it can do the same for Sunday.

    @Micha

    I kinda agree with you. The Tyson episode was so weak and after coming off a great episode the week before about the gay guy who was beating other gay guys I was pretty surprised about that episode. Mike Tyson can’t act and it really hurt SVU’s credit.

    Also, I can see why having a rapist guest star on a show that deals with sex crimes could hurt it. I’m surprised with the PULL that hargitay has that she let that actually go down.

  • jake

    Arrow is back in shape, the total viewers are amazing for the CW, I remember Smallville had similar demo but less viewers in the last 2 seasons.
    Supernatural is hyper solid, almost 9 years and still strong.
    The CW must make only sci-fi, action packed shows cause it’s really working for them.

    ABC don’t screw it up with Suburgatory, learn from CBS and keep it.

  • Johnson

    Lol. Last week’s Community ties The Middle and beat The Neighbors. I hate people dissing NBC’s comedy Thursday. Without Modern Family, ABC Wednesday would be just as bad.
