    “Lol. Last week’s Community ties The Middle and beat The Neighbors. I hate people dissing NBC’s comedy Thursday. Without Modern Family, ABC Wednesday would be just as bad.”

    lol at you comparing a highly promoted season premiere of 1 comedy vs. a regular episode of another. Community ain’t holding that 1.9 rating from last week.

    Maybe all of CBS’ tired old shows will start declining in the ratings at the same time. In fact, I’d like to see the entire network fall down like a house of cards. 90% of their primetime schedule has lived way past their prime. I just can’t believe their viewers are still watching the same stale, safe crap they keep airing. 20 years ago, if you were on the air for 6 seasons, it was considered a long running show. Today, CBS would call a 6 year old show their latest hit.

    @BigBrotherFan

    And Warren Leight was on Twitter this morning, bragging about how SVU’s demo and how it went up during the half hour. Obviously it didn’t or it wouldn’t be adjusted down. That man is so full of himself until.

    I would not be surprised if Mariska announced departure from the series after season 14 (has she signed her new contract yet)? I don’t think any SVU cast has signed their contract for 2014. Mariska signed a 1 year deal in 2012, Danny & Kelli got a 2 year when joined, Ice did a two year back in season 12, Belzer IDK, Florek IDK. Leight and his crew likley under a two year. I wish Leight and his writers would just leave it be and leave SVU.

    Season 14 has been so rocky until it’s unbearable, I think SVU fans who watched between seasons 12 & 13 left this year. Only three episodes ranked & rated high this season, the season premiere and the first 2 eps of 2013.

    SVU is dragging down Chicago Fire, change the lead in, and I garuntee CF will boost. And this isn’t Fan Excuse Bingo I’m spewing either.

    Sad to see SVU with low ratings last night. Marcia Gay Harden had an emmy worthy performance. I agree the show has been uneven. I was stunned the ratings were so bad last night with Criminal Minds on vacation. I’ve also never thought SVU should be a 9pm show.

  • Ted Craig

    @Skylar

    I have looked at the ratings for TBBT and The Office. Both declined in the fourth season and bounced back in the fifth. TAAHM reached its low point in season 5 before bouncing back for seasons 6 and 7.

  • Ted Craig

    Oops, sorry, that was for Painless Risen YT.

  • Lu

    Whatever it is, CSI still number 1 in its time slot. And I think this is a series low.

    Whether it did or didn’t in the final ratings I have no idea since we don’t see half hour splits in the finals, but for the 439th time half hour preliminary ratings have nothing to do with finals adjustments.

    If you’d like to know what does, read this: http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2012/12/15/numbers-101-why-your-favorite-shows-ratings-get-adjusted-up-down-in-the-final-ratings/161978/

    @Bill

    Thanks for clarifying Bill, well somebody should tell Warren Leight this then. I bet if SVU was pulling 20 mil and 3.0-4.0 like NCIS, he’d still pontificate. I get so sick of it, people brag he’s a talented writer (and I thought he wrote and was EP over some gripping episodes of Law & Order: Criminal Intent), but he’s a rude “butthead” on Twitter and in interviews.

    I bet if SVU was in Guys With Kids’ boat and you guys here at TVBTN’s said SVU would be canceled at the end of the season, Leight would be all over you all and go against everything you guys would say, even if it were all true. Leight and “his crew” need to face facts and own up to it — they made a mistake and now it’s done some ratings damage to SVU.

    They’ll recover their audience weekly if Warren Leight would focus on the earlier seasons episodes of SVU like seasons 3-5&6. And stop casting rapists like Mike Tyson. NBC should have pulled this episode, not moved it.

  • Bigbrotherfan

    @Michael

    Well I disagree 100% about SVU hurting CF if any it really helped it in it’s first 7 episodes atleast due to major crossover audience. Both Wolf shows, gritty, dark, law, etc. CF benefited well from this. Let’s say it started out Thurs at 10pm no way it would of made it past 5 episodes.

    I agree about the direction the show is going. I’d love a regular a.d.d and not some whack who looks like he hasn’t showered in months guy who has been in a few episodes this season. With Stephanie march freed up why the heck isn’t she back or Casey Novak? The law side is becoming less of a factor than before. I also get annoyed with how they arbitrarily just decide to pick up certain cases and devout the entire team to it as they please. Pretty unrealistic

    There where two standout episodes though this season
    The episode about the hooker who was really a terrorist with the girl from Crminal intent back in this episode.
    The one a few weeks ago about the gay guy killing/robbing “straight” gay guys.

    The biggest failure of an episode this season was the Patricia arquette one. What a waste of a talented actress!
    Tyson one sucked cause dude CANNOT act!

    Nick annoys me. I feel like Pino is playing THE EXACT same character from cold case! No range! 0
    However, I really like detective Rowland/Rawlings? Name forgets me. The blonde. She’s good!

    It’s a show I like cause I always get exactly what I’m expecting.

    @Micha, rather

    Sorry autocorrect.

  • Just Desserts

    The Neighbor’s ratings were okay this week but with The Disney channel behind it, the only other way to go is cable.

    Wait, what?

    Dallas – 14 seasons
    Knots Landing – 14 seasons
    Murder, She Wrote – 12 seasons
    Falcon Crest – 9 seasons

    All of those dramas were on CBS at the same time as late as 1990.

  • networkman

    @omabin, I understand what you are saying regarding the dramas on CBS. Alot of them are equal in their performance. CBS really has some tough decision come Spring. They are really going to have to put alot of thought into their scheduling. The network has alot of aging dramas, many prehaps heading into their final seasons. Hawaii Five-O has to moved. The Good Wife also should move.

    Monday
    10pm New Drama

    Tuesday
    8pm NCIS
    9pm Person of Interest
    10pm New Drama

    Wednesday
    8pm NCIS:LA
    9pm New Drama
    10pm Criminal Minds

    Thursday
    10pm Elementary

    Friday
    8pm Undercover Boss/The Good Wife(Final Season 16 episodes starting in Jan.)
    9pm CSI- The show returns back to its regular spot for final 2 seasons
    10pm Blue Bloods

    Sunday
    8pm Survivor/The Amazing Race
    9pm Hawaii Five-O
    10pm The Mentalist (Final Season)

  • networkman

    After seeing these ratings, I’m really concerned for the shows airing on Valentine’s Day.

    I really wish the TV season ended by the end of March. This way the networks didn’t have to watch shows hit lows during daylight savings time. Also most shows would run repeat free. Then starting in April, the networks could air cancelled shows, reality programs.

  • mando

    Please Think NBC should similar shows.
    Do you really think Whitney and Guys with Kids can be together?
    GO ON and Guys with Kids // Whitney and The New Normal are more likely to succeed and help the following shows.
    Please Think! NBC!!

    @ CookyMonzta The WTF! Wasnt directed to you. I tried to post something bad about American Idol and after submitting my comment it kept telling me “Error Message”.

  • toadytoady

    I was wondering how long it would take before the hate leight crowd arrived to lobby on this site.Some of them have been around sites from BEFORE the season started.They arrived this year to diss the show.They were not around last year.
    If you scrolled back youd see that the ratings did go up considerably in preliminary results,from 1.4 key demo to 1.7 key demo at 9.30pm. I agree with alot of people here that it should be a 10pm show.the change in slot has affected it this year, to the benefit of Chicago Fire. Thats the main difference from last year. SVU is traditionally a 10pm show.

  • toadytoady

    I see NBC had to fast forward Hannibal because of some recent failures.Is that a show that is likely to succeed?They should announce the renewal of SVU and Chicago Fire and put an end to some uncertainty.After all, they were keen to renew Smash despite its weak ratings last season.
