Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

The hate really needs to stop between Revenge and Scandal. Both are really great shows and should not be compared against each other. Scandal competes against the primetime Thursday shows and Revenge competes against Awards Shows and the Sunday night line-up. While one has been growing and the other has fallen, it’s two different perspectives that shouldn’t be compared because Scandal hasn’t competed against what Revenge has or vice versa.

Valentine’s Day didn’t really impact the ratings that much. Sad to see Community fall so harshly and Zero Hour was too complicated as a show to even launch on Valentine’s Day. ABC had to know this show wouldn’t last.

Does anyone know what the half hour ratings are? I can’t seem to find them.

  • Jaime04

Glee’s season average right now is at 2.3 – so no problem with a Season 5 renewal. I agree with a previous poster that the show needs to move away from AI to survive.

If u don’t like revenge anymore then don’t watch it rather than writing hateful comments, u moved on to a new show that’s not wrong but stop trying to tear revenge down its not going anywhere
Get out of your mothers basement and do something more productive with your life perhaps find a hobby, a girlfriend or boyfriend, get a job, do public services there are tons of other things to do rather than wasting your energy on a tv show that u hate. U got what wanted with revenge its ratings are down its not getting enough promotion now can u leave revenge alone? U sound ridiculous just enjoy scandal I don’t even know if u even watch scandal or if u hate revenge so much. What made u hate revenge so much in the first place seriously? I never seen someone hate a show as much as you.

I dont understand it, greys was awesome

  • Dantas

I’m pretty sure the DVR numbers for these shows are going to be stronger than usual.

Glee will be at syndication numbers at the end of this season. It doesn’t need another season, syndication is 88 eps and Glee will have that at the end of this season. That being said, it’s still a certain renewal for next season, I’m just poiting out it will have already hit syndication numbers by May. I also don’t see them moving it to Sunday next season (although I do see them moving it out of it’s current slot), it’s still doing perfectly fine compared to a lot of Fox shows (hence the fact it’s down as a certain renewal).

I also don’t get why people are saying V-Day had no impact what so ever. Yes, I understand that it doesn’t have as big of an impact as many people try to make out, and a lot of shows may well have been down last night even if it wasn’t V-Day, and a lot of fans will use V-Day as an excuse. But absolutely everything between 8-10 was down. I think it’s perfectly fair to assume that a part of that (even just a tiny part) is connected to V-Day. Attempting to claim that the mess of yesterday’s ratings is soley because of Valentine’s day is silly, but trying to claim that Valentine’s had absolutely no impact at all on a night when every show fell is also equally silly, imo.

Before i get many replies back on this I will say that yes, I do like community.

    BBT also dropped 8 points.
    It was valentines day.
    That was a halloween episode…

I love the show, and don’t expect it to keep a 1.9 . . . but can we look at those 3 facts to see why its a series low… my favorite of the 3 being a halloween episode on valentines day . . .

Great for PoI – held fairly steady and only .1 down.

Another great episode with both Zoe, Fusco taking out the 2 hitmen, sadly no bear :(
John got lucky it seems ;)
Another 3 blue screens for the Machine (code again is translated into different text it seems) :(
Root showing up in final scenes setting up for next weeks episode I think :)
re: the Zoe hate – it is more from the Cater/John shippers I think… this episode really brought it out in them, I wonder why :)

The whole GA/Scandal ratings are very interesting – think they will both have the same ratings in the finals but wonder about next week and all the other weeks until end of the season.

Elementry is steady but seems to be no match for Scandal. Fox and NBC is sad with drops all round. Not sad for AI ;)

Zero Hour did worse than I expected (still to watch) but the early reviews make me want to watch it for the ‘how did this get on air’ vibe – could surprise me and be decent – but still doa with maybe a chance of seeing out all the episodes and not get pulled.

re: PoI vs. GA – been all mainly GA/Scandal and the usual pot stirring from Max today. Nothing stands out on other 11 pages with regards to PoI vs. GA unlike the usual weekly sparring.

I tried reading all the comments, but everyone seems to be bashing other people/show. First of all, it was Valentine’s Day, so it’s not unusual for the shows to be low on ratings.

I personally like Batb, so it’s sad to see it go, but I kind of thought it would because of the bad ratings. For me, even it will get cancelled, I still want to see the full season.

For Vampire Diaries, I don’t like the way it is going, but to compare a series that airs on a regular normal day and not on a special day like Valentine’s Day doesn’t even make sense. I’m sad the ratings went down, but I really don’t think there is even a comparison to another series that aired on a normal day. Now if it was compared to the other series aired on the same day, then yeah, that is reasonable.

When people talk about TVD being down due to Valentine’s day, please keep in mind that Wednesday’s PUT were 5% lower than the week before, and Thursday’s ratings 6% lower – not much of a difference here. Arrow and TVD faced similar conditions this week.

  • Jaime04

C3 ratings will be good for a lot of these shows. I’ll dive in and say that VD had a lot to do with these low ratings, and people will be watching after live.

  • chris23

@Eddy. Thats cool is Castle is your top drama for ABC but it is not pulling great numbers for either abc and I wouldn’t consider its syndication numbers that good either. Take Supernatural, a show from a much smaller network that has ratings of a cable network, manages to pull the same 0.3/0.4s and recently a 0.5 with over a million viewers.. Considering SPN is mediocre ratings wise but good for the CW its syndication numbers are considered good. Castle on the other hand is “OK” and very short of great. And NO I’m not a Supernatural fan..

An Example of Great Repeat numbers are BBT on TBS or Family Guy on TBS/Adult Swim.. Both shows getting solid mid to high 1’s. A lot of shows do good in Syndication, I just think Castle is stable at best!

Saying Castle is doing “great” repeat numbers for TNT is farfetched dont ya think? I’m beginning to think that you, EDDY RYAN must be a PR person for ABC Network the way you are spinning Castle numbers like you are rumplestilsken with hair and gold!

  • Amy

Don’t worry, TVD has already been renewed. I liked it better when KW was running it.

  • Keith

And in a few hours we will see which shows are adjusted up or down lower !!! My sister was going to DVR Zero Hour even though I told her not to bother!! Oh well she DVR Do no harm also !! Will she ever learn..I think not !!!

  • Win

I actually forgot about that. you’re right. There was a 5% decline yesterday.

  • PixieLavender

I think the DVR ratings for The Vampire Diaries will be higher but to be fair, the writers could have had awesome storylines for season 4 but they came up with crappy ones! There isn’t as much action as they used to be either.

I have been a faithful follower of American Idol for over a decade – since the second season – and I find Nikki and Mariah to be absolutely revolting as people and I will not watch the show again until they are fired. Even last year with JayHoe there, there was something that could be called chemistry and even the other chick, Steven Tyler, wasn’t bad. But this season was a trainwreck – checked out first show and turned it off – that Nikki is perhaps one of the most disgusting human beings ever born. I loathe her existance.

  • Fake Me Out

@Ashton. Not to be mean … See how stupid that sounded?

I’d hate to see you when you try to be mean …

  • Baaa!

Big declines in the early hours,as people were doing their Valentines Day activities, but they all were back home to steady the 10pm timeslots. Like DST the later slot works out better here.

  • gerry

its too bad max is so one note, as the really big news here is that scandal actually beat its grey’s lead in. that’s really something. too bad for grey’s though, i think last night was probably the best episode this season.

    goodbye, zero hour.

there is no need to worry for tvd. both it and arrow are hits for cw at equal or greater than 1.0 weekly. but a .5 for batb? its gonna have a hard time for renewal when carrie diaries pulls the same numbers without the best lead in (or now, one of the) of the week.

i don’t watch community, but that’s a really sad fall for fans. and it brought down p&r which i love. so no good there.

down for tbbt but that’s still the top scripted network show of the week, right?
