Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

Poor TVD! I guess Valentine’s Day affected it. I read on Get Glue that a lot of people decided to DVR it.

  • ATXCountry

@Ryan Schwartz Last night’s episode of Scandal could not air at 9pm. It was far too steamy to move up an hour. I hope that ABC keeps it in its 10pm timeslot because it is the epitome of a 10pm show. (If a sophomore show is dominating its time slot, it deserves to keep it….it’s not like any other 10pm dramas are fairing so well.)

  • Tommy M.

I see peoples reasoning for moving Scandal to another timeslot next season but this is the first show that has really worked after GA. PP did okay there but it heavily relied on GA for ratings. All of that said, Scandal also belongs in a 10PM timeslot due to it’s content. I’d say ABC should leave it where it is and focus their energy fixing all of Tuesdays and Thursday’s 8PM timeslot.

  • samurai99

Glad to see elementary holding steady. No way it’s getting cancelled this year.

One silver lining for community: Maybe Zero Hour took out a big chunk of it’s ratings and now it can bounce back.

  • Tom

Where are all the BEASTLY #Beasties now?

    Shhh don’t encourage them ;)

Policing this site is a major Beastie obsession. You haven’t been properly initiated as a commenter until a Beastie control freak has (a) given you multiple etiquette lectures for panning their failing show; and/or (b) told you to stop posting critical comments about the show. And, for heaven’s sake, do not ever suggest that Nina Lisandrello would make a better Beast than Jay Ryan.

    @MAX

Ure retarded. Scandal may be stable in demos, but is in no way ABC’S ‘SHINING STAR’ LMFAO.

I think the revenge obsession got to ur head and logic. :D

  • leonard

PP never top Grey’s. It’s, by far, not the same thing.

  • Rich

LAW AND ORDER:SVU didn’t air in Los Angeles because of the whole
    Christopher Dorner crap.

  • Revenger

Although it has declined recently, I still don’t see Revenge being cancelled. It’s still getting above five million viewers per episode. It is doing very well, even with its decline. American Idol seems to be dropping almost a million viewers per episode. This could be the end, if they don’t boost soon. The vampire diaries has already been renewed, so I’m sure it will capture its old glory before the end of season 5 next year. I’m not worried about Vampire diaries for another few years, but it is sad to see it rated # 3 this week.
Glee is still in no danger, but I have noticed that the show didn’t transition very well to college. I’m the only one in my family that still watches it. I don’t see it going past season 5 or 6. Beauty and the beast has dropped to a 0.5 in its first season. Hello cancellation. It’s bad when a show dips that low in its first season. It took 90210 five seasons to get low, and it may even get cancelled, so TCD and BATB are definantly dead. I’m not sure about HOD, b ut of course Nikita will be renewed because of syndication.
    This is my prediction

    The CW

    Renewed
    The vampire diaries
    Supernatural
    Arrow
    90210 (final season)
    Nikita
    ANTM
Cult, or Hart of Dixiie. Depending how it does.

The cW picked up three pilots, so they can renew 7 shows. They’ve already announced 4, and Nikita is almost a sure bet. that leaves two slots.

90210, Cult, TCD, BATB, and HOD to fight it out. They will most likely give 90210 a final season because of Petowitz. That leaves the other four shows to fight it out. BATB and TCD aren’t going to make the cut, so Cult and Hrt of dixie

“Considering that English isn’t Peter’s first language (I think?) that’s kinda harsh of you.”

No. My comment had nothing to do with his English, and everything to do with his demand we solve a problem that we’re highly motivated to solve and were, of course, in the midst of trying to solve.

It’s mostly the sense of entitlement that irks me. If you’re sending us a check, feel free to feel entitled to tell us what to do. Otherwise, be thankful for what you get for free.

  • leonard

ABC should move GA to 8pm next season and givin’ to Scandal the 9pm time slot. Scandal it’s in your beggining, Grey’s will die, anyway, in 1 or 2 years.

  • Petar Ivanov

    @eridapo
Great POI last night…..Zoe and Root. Zoe and Reese having a drink and a quiet night on a suite. Lol

POI is great every night. But Zoe is stunning woman. Not get it why on POI facebook page not like her.

  • TVDxitachi

@Ace, Arrow is in no way number one, TVD still is, so get that silly notion out your brain….lol.

  • Avery16

If there’s no adjustment down, ELEMENTARY is the only show to not go down this week! That’s awesome. Looks like Valentine’s Day, contrary to your earlier article, had a negative effect on every show (except ELEMENTARY if the rating holds up).

  • Mika

I’m thinking a Nice Family friendly show on ABC might work 8pm Thursdays like Disney channel type of stuff that’s what my kids and I watched last night. Usually we watch Property wars but it wasnt on. Dramas are just not working in the 8pm slot.

    Wow! Scandal beat Grey’s!

I am still not getting the Competition for Scandal vs. Revenge. They come two different days on the same network with two different agendas. I love them both.

  • Barbarossa

I’m actually for once disappointed in a fall by Glee

  • Beauty and the flop

LOL Beauty and the flop is soon to be eaten by the Cancellation Bear. What will batb fans say? “It’s because TVD was down.” Really? So are you saying that the show would flop airing in another night? That means the show would sink to 90210 levels so no point in keeping it because it can’t stand on its own and The Originals will have the timeslot next season.

  • rob60990

You all can enjoy that little gain for Scandal but when Grey’s Anatomy ends, the show will sink sink sink and I’ll be here.

Besides, where’s that 3.0? Oh right, never gonna happen. :D

Well at least Community tanked as planned.

  • Ateofi

Scandal continues to impress, Zero your is DOA – it did worse than My premiered 1.5 demo. The Vampire Diaries is going down fast, unie?? it is adjusted up, it is doing worse than Arrow. PoI was again solid. Elementary seems to be stabilizing at 2.2 demo which is disappointing for CBS to say the least.

  • Sherry

@ “POI is great every night. But Zoe is stunning woman. Not get it why on POI facebook page not like her.”

I don’t get it either. Maybe there’s war among fans of Zoe and Carter. LOL!
